The long and short of it is this: Music industry people go there to be seen and everyone else goes to say they had lunch across from industry people. The food is nothing special. Large portions try to make up for the greasy and luke-warm "off the grill" items. It's expensive (BLT is $8). They pre-make (not prep) salads so you can end up with a crushed salad made at 6am when you go in at 4pm. Sam...
This is on my top 10 list. Great food, huge portions and great pickles.
I have tried most of the menu and recommend the Chicken noodle soup and the Tuna melt.
Great cheese cake, rumor is they bring it in from a famous deli in NY city.
Comfort food at it's best!
Great menu and the things we ordered came out tasting just like when my mom or grandma cooks for us.
Will definitely go back.
With my many visits to noshville i have never had a bad experience with the food, it has always been good.
Go to Jason's much better food. Way over rated don't waste your time and money at Trashville.
I've been to the Midtown location probably 15 times, and the Green Hills location four times. The food is always good, but if you're on even a somewhat tight schedule, forget it - just go to McDonalds. When a husband and wife order their breakfast at the same time, what is so difficult about serving their food within 15 minutes of each other?
Today at the Green Hills location, the waiter cam...
I've worked for Noshville almost a year now. The plasce is great its a very friendly enviroment. It always makes are employees happy to see that are customers are satisfied. Are food is terrific. Everything is off the grill unless you order off the cold side of the menu. Noshville is somewhere i'd recommend for you to try at least once. Most of are customers have been coming there since we first ...
The food is great and so are the employees, but the "Big Band" music has go to go. I understand that this is a "New York Style" dell, but PLEASE vary the music. Maybe some jazz. Or let's support our Nashville Musicians.
Really one of the worst places my husband and I have ever eaten. If you like butter grease, no taste, stale bread and flavor, bad service, go here. I would not recommend it to anyone unless you want to have a hear attack and many look like they are ready. Not for us!
Ok, Noshville is across from where my sister worked for years, but I never had the chance to eat there. Today, while going into town, I thought I would give it a try. A good friend who keeps kosher is coming to Nashville for Thanksgiving and I thought I would try the place out so I would have a kosher place to bring him, when he visits. So, I parked at the market next door and went in. The hostes...
Went a couple of times when first opened, good service and food. Since then been back a few times lately very bad service, except at counter, and once when I complained was given an excuse instead of an apology and to boot, a little lip. This place is always crowded and I don't know why unless Nashville is fooled by supposedly good NYC deli fare. Cheese blintzes small and seved with cold bland ap...
I just went to Noshville for lunch. Knowing their portions are HUGE (enough food to feed a small family) my friend and I split the meal. When I got the check they added a $3 plate charge. When I questioned the waiter he said it was to discourage people from splitting since they give such large portions. So I ended up paying $15 for a club sandwich. That's ridiculous! I guess they want America to ...
We usually get the Rueben here and it's one of the BEST we've ever tasted! The Tennessee Club is very good as well.Best place to get a quick sandwhich in West End!
I have been to Noshville 2 times. The latter time prompted me to write this review. Overall the food was mediocre, but the service was pretty bad. There are some suspiciously biased opinions about this place. It seems as if someone is writing about their own place of employment, rather than having a true experience at this establishment. This is really not what this forum should be used for. ...
Yeah, they were out of pickles, but I HATE pickles! Just the smell of them makes me spew my insides profusely!
The food was amazing, and I loved the server's dry witty banter.
Seriously, I would have totally four starred this bit** if they had pickles.
My husband and I had lunch the other day at Noshville on Broadway. We were seated promptly and our drink order was soon taken. I ordered a sandwich as did my husband. When the food arrived our server asked us if we needed anything else? I asked for a side of pickles. He told me they were OUT. SHOCKED (I mean this is supposed to be a Jewish Deli!) I asked him if he was serious? He said "No...
The Midtown location is convenient for lunch for downtown workers. However, it always seems to take 1 1/2 - 2 hours to complete a lunch here. And this for sandwiches?! Service is always bad. And the food is unfortunately just not particularly good. I love pickles but the pickles they put on the table? They're just....flaccid. A pickle should crunch or snap when you bite into it. I hate to say a...
Gotta love this place..
Fried bologna sandwich is great.. Folks are friendly.
Same at their Green Hills location.
I like the free pickles but sometimes you have to ask for them
Also, black and white cookies..
Love this place!! Went on saturday morning and had no wait. The waiter has obviously worked there forever because he took our order by memory which is always scary but he got all of our orders perfect even though we were very picky! Food came out so so fast! Food is great and menu is huge. I always love a place that serve lox and it was great! Will definitley go back many times!
One of the best hot dogs, huge portions, stay away from the salads. We read that Noshville had one of the best bloody marys in Nashville. However, we were quite disappointed. Parking was a nightmare.
I love this place. You may have to wait for a table on a Saturday morning, but it's worth it. I love their breakfast and brunch!
This place really styled like a NY deli. The portions are huge BUT the prices reflect it. I was also annoyed by the $3 plate sharing charge. The staff were attentive. Nice and clean. Busy on Sunday at breakfast/brunch. Omelettes are great!
The service is decent but the food is worse the average.
Table was dirty, including the seat.
I order a cranberry juice that was given to me basically in a shot glass, the food took a good twenty minutes to come out, and when it did it was far from decent.
Fries were absolutely horrid, not well cooked, and one of them were still frozen.
I ordered the Chicago Style hot dog, which looked boil...
Here's why I do not recommend this place...
The following items were observerved on three seperate visits:
-Table was dirty.
-Condiment bottles - usually the ketchup - dirty.
-Waitress/waiter unprofessional - committed health code violation each visit by taking our glasses back to the fountain and refilling them, straws touching the machine - you should always serve new glasses and new straws...
I have been to Noshville several times and have always been very happy with the food. Everything I have tried on the menu has been exceptionally tasty and the portions are always quite large. On one occasion I took my parents with me and was surprised to see that they even enjoyed the food although they are terribly adventurous when it comes to dining and I feared they might be a bit put off by s...
First visit on a busy Sunday morning. Service was excellent -- waiter may have had a crush on of the girls in our group. Everyone enjoyed their food, but my French Toast on Egg bread was cold. Really.
MY HUSBAND AND I WERE RIDING AROUND ON A SAT JULY 21 2007 AND FOUND THIS DELI AND DECIDED TO TRY IT. I ORDERED A HOGIE VEGE SANDWICH WHICH SOUNDED FINE AND MY HUSBAND GOT A HOTDOG. THE BREAD ON BOTH WAS HEAVY ,OLD AND STALE, NO SEASONING ON THE VEGE, THE TINY PIECE OF TOMATO ON BOTH SANDWICHES WAS VERY OLD AND TASTED BAD!!, I HAD TWO TINY PIECES OF RED PEPPER ON EACH SIDE OF THE SMALL SANDWICH AN...
I frequently dine at Noshville, and I'll tell you why: The staff is wonderful, the food is wonderful, and they are prompt with their service. I highly recommend the almost all of the items on the menu, but I wouldn't risk eating the complimentary pickles that are on the table. It seems like they are not changed from diner to diner. Great for families with kids as well!
My family and I ate at Noshville multiple times during my four years in Nashville and always had a delicious meal (my mom always wanted to go when she visited -- and I grew up on the east coast, with a lot of authentic Jewish delis around). The potato pancakes are delicious, the matzo ball soup true comfort food, the sandwiches HUGE and just as delicious the next day (I always had leftovers). W...
This place isn't bad but know that is nothing like a NY deli or diner. Way higher cost and "fancy" compared to real ones. Sell similar menu items but like places claiming to have NY pizza or NY bagels...its just not the same!
I was recently excited to visit Noshville, being a new transplant to Nashville, and looking forward to eating at an "authentic New York Delicatessen". I have to say I was GREATLY disappointed. I ordered the Rueben. There were a couple of VERY thin slices of a meat that looked very much like the pressed meat products sold in packets at the grocery store. It was detinitely NOT pastrami as I hav...
Matza ball soup is wonderful. A must have no matter what else you order. Portions are more than enough for one meal. I always take some home.
If you are taking out family, a date, friends, a professor, a co-worker, ANYONE, and you aren't sure what place will offer a good spread of food that is tasty all the way around, then Noshville IS your place. With all day breakfast options, huge and healthy salads, meat and three platters, and not to mention a great dessert menu, you will certainly NOT be dissapointed. If you get there on a Sat....
Noshville has excellent food, I love their grilled cheese sandwiches. You may have to wait, but they seat people quickly. The service is usually very good and fast.
My husband and I love this place! Everything we've had has been great. What's even better, is they have some of the BEST coffee in town so be sure to save room for a cup afterwards.
The service is slow, so come about an hour before you are really hungry. That way you have an enjoyable time from start to finish. Try the deli style hot dogs too. The Reuben is fabulous. The pies are just awesome!!...
We shared a Reuben and a pastrami on rye. Pastrami was OK, plump, but lacked the drier peppery flavor of a NYC Deli. However, the corned beef on the Reuben was excellent. French fries have a nice crispy exterior. Once seated, service was prompt and friendly.
I've been to Rubens on Madison Avenue. Noshville for Nashville is exceptional! Had the Lox platter and very good with seseme bagel. Sour pickels are to die for. Rueben and fries...go for it. If you lived in or around NYC anytime Noshville will take you back to the deli food. Sorry no room for desert. Tasted quality in the Lox and corned beef...good and hot fries. I think its neat that they don't ...
My wife and I went to the Noshville on Broadway at about 6:30PM on a Friday night. As the restaurant was not crowded we were promptly seated. We each ordered a sandwich and I ordered a basket of french fries. It took 25 minutes for the sandwiches to appear and since a different server brought the sandwiches from the waitress who had taken our order we reminded him that we had an order of french ...
Noshville has the best breakfast. I would recommend that you go to the Broadway location rather than the Green Hills location as the parking for the Green Hills location is a NIGHTMARE!!!!!
Ive been to Noshville twice both times with high hopes that the food would be enjoyable. I was disappointed twice.
If you have a hangover on Sunday afternoon this is the place to be! Excellent tall screw drivers! The chef salad is awesome and the grilled tuna salad sandwich with well done fries runs a close second. I like to go late afternoon when the breakfast crowd has died down. Louise is the best server ever and it is worth it to ask to be seated in her section.
I love the food, the lox & scrambled eggs, potato pancakes, potato knishes, the Rachael (pastrami on rye,) THE LEMON MERANGUE PIE! I love the New Yorkness of it BUT, there's nothing I hate worse than hearing a yankee make side remarks about southerners. I've heard that several times in there. I overlook it because I love the food and I think the service is impecable. Sadly enough it's the manager...
Looking for a great deli...LOOK NO FURTHER!! This is an awesome deli! My husband and I used to live in LA and go to the famous Nate N Als...This is the closest thing to it in Nashville. It has a great breakfast (try the oatmeal), yummy soups, and fantastic sandwiches!
Way over priced for lunch! This was not what I had expected!
After waiting 45 minutes & watching other groups our size be seated because their party was "complete" while two of ours were a bit late, we got stuck in a back room separated from the rest of the restaurant; the waiter talked 90 miles a minute; the food arrived very quickly though; the 2nd pot of coffee was burnt; and why should a patron ever have to ask for refills on beverages in any restauran...
So my girlfriend and I are on our way to the park. Since Bread and Company closes at 4:00 on Saturdays we decided to get Noshville to go. Don't do it. The sandwich was terrible. The meat was dry and I would really hate to see what the "We Dare You" looks like. The waitress tells us "It's pretty big depending on how hungry you are." We ended up going to Wendy's for our fries and a side salad...
In my opinion the best deli in Nashville. This is coming from a background of being brought up in New York and Philadelphia and vacationing in Miami (NY South) every year when I was a child.
You can go wrong with the Matzo ball soup or corned beef and/or Pastrami sandwich. These sandwiches are much larger with more meat than any sub from a chain. The quality of the food is mush better as well...
Food is always excellent, nice atmosphere, but service can be quite slow at rush times. Sandwiches are piled high, but many breakfast items [blintzes, potato pancakes] while excellent come in such tiny portions they leave you wanting more.
Worst service I have ever had!
Waitress was absolutely nasty. Took her nearly
20 minutes to take our drink order and they
weren't even busy!
I'm always looking for a good ole deli experience - this wasn't one of them. Who wants to pay $9.99 for pastrami on rye and a side of slaw? You could get a pound for less than that. I recommend that if you must visit this overrated restaurant, you skip dinner and head for the chocolate. The desserts were the most reasonable choice on the menu and tasted pretty good, too; however the atmospher...
We were looking for some good comfort food reminiscent of the delis we went to on the west coast. Noshville provided a wonderful breakfast of white fish, bagels and fixin's. The scrambled eggs with lox were wonderful, but the highlight for my husband was the bin of pickled tomato.
The sandwiches and pancakes we saw passing by our table to others looked great too. We are looking forward to goi...
All the kosher you could ask for!
Awesome pickles on each table.
Each meal is more than one person can eat at one time!
By far the best deli in the Nashville area. Love the pickles and the service was great
After moving from South Florida, I pouted because there was not a good bagel to be found in Nashville. Until a friend introduced me to "The Nosh", and it is always the best breakfast to a true New Yorker at heart.
I love going to the Deli! If you want to relax and watch the people its a great place to go. Did I mention their food is fabulous, well it is. It's just an overall great place to have fun.
The overall experiance of Noshville is wonderful. Its usually pretty busy so be prepared for a little wait, but the food is undoubtably worth it. Everything from the freshness of the meals to the pickles on the tables (the way a mexican resterant would have chips and salsa) is great. I love the pastrami here, and the cheesecake. Oh that cheesecake how i adore it. Best on earth! Anyway if you a...
The only reminder of a true NY deli is the price. I really wanted to like this place, but I received a "loveless" meal--a pickle that tasted like nothing more than a cucumber, and a pile of roast beef with nothing else on the bread to make it interesting. The atmosphere is charming, however, and the service was efficient. Go early for lunch.
Uh, when everyone says "pay a little more," they don't quite capture the essence of paying $13 for a sandwich (large, but not as big as a sub), fries (average), a pickle (free at the table), and a Coke.
Noshville is one of the best casual meals and good deals this city has to offer. Make sure you are hungry, because the salads and sandwiches are huge. Always fresh, always good!
Noshville is hands-down the best deli in town. Everything, from their chicken soup that soothes any stuffy nose, to their heart-poundingly tall merengue pies, is delicious. Complimentary homemade pickles on each table are a fun perk also. I've never been let down at Noshville... stop by for a nosh, but save room for dessert!
Noshville has brought back my childhood memories of growing up in New York. The food is delicious and it's the first place I have found that's on the mark for true 'New York Dellicatessen' taste! It's an experience no one will ever forget - especially the cheesecake!! WOW!
I think the matzoh ball soup that I had at Noshville is about the best I've had anywhere!! Helped me get over my cold within a day! (Your experience may vary!)
I love Noshville! The service is great, the food is excellent, and the price is right. If you don't eat much, one of Noshville's servings could feed you for days. They aren't stingy when it comes to giving the customer the most food for their dollar. The only thing to watch out for is the wait on the weekends, Noshville can get pretty busy. If you're in a hurry though, the bar generally has ...
I've never been for breakfast, and I suspect it's because I can't think of not going there and eating a Reuben or matzah ball soup, potato latkes and finishing it all off with a slice of Carnegie Deli cheesecake, shipped in from NYC itself. I'm a Tennessean, but I love Manhatten, and Noshville gives me a taste of it without the added expense of a plane fare. While it may seem pricey to some nat...
