A local fav for me when I am in town
Hubby and I went here for our wedding anniversary and were seated next to the window to enjoy the view. The waitress was very attentive and punctual. We ordered the petite filet in butter sauce and it was one of the best we've had. For appetizers we ordered the prosciutto wrapped scallops and spicy seafood gumbo - simply OUTSTANDING. There is also an ample wine list to pair with the dishes an...
Love this place! Great service, smiles and personality. The happy hour is fantastic, try the lobster tail and shrimp scampi. Not sure what all the fuss is about with Parc but I am truly a devoted Devon fan and look forward to sitting and sipping real soon.
We have had some great dinners with friends and clients and always come up big with both the food and the service . Devons has a great staff who make you feel like you are having a personal dining experience every time.
The wait staff (Henry in particular) are very knowledgeable with suggestions and recommendations.
The food is creatively prepared and usually to perfection.

I don't usually write reviews but after dining here last night I felt compelled to tell everyone how amazing everything was. I actually ordered the filet mignon and it was honestly the BEST piece of meat I have ever eaten. Great wine list, reasonable pricing, you really can't beat it! Even though its a seafood restaurant I highly recommend the filet, the crab cakes were good too!
Very nice sophisticated restaurant located near Rittenhouse Park in Center City. I enjoy going here in the spring and summer when they have outside dining. Staff are always nice and the food is very good. Bill can be expensive but its ok for a nice evening out with friends and family.
Large, large restaurant, specializing in all types of seafood. Prices are reasonable, and the sweet biscuits brought with every meal are to die for. There are secluded seating areas for larger parties.
I went here for Sunday brunch with a large group. They were very accomodating of a group of 12. The food was good, the service was decent (our server seemed a bit overwhelmed by the large group, but the orders all came out correctly). Nice atmosphere with barrel ceilings tiled in subway tile, and dim lighting - perfect for those hungover weekend brunches.
I came here with my boyfriend and my parents last week and was very impressed. Our waiter was one of the most professional I have seen and was very attentive. Our food and beverages came out at a good pace, not rushed, but not slow. The crabcake appetizer was excellent and my swordfish was really well prepared. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meals and I definitely plan to go back.
I went to Devon after having received a gift card in the mail, and went with a group of 6. We were seated in a dark corner, which was fine, and were promptly greeted. The timing of the meal was good, we didn't feel rushed, aside from the fact that our server talked a mile a minute. Three of the fish entrees were overdone, which was appalling to me, considering Devon is supposed to be a seafood...
I am a seafood lover and was totally excited to try this place after reading the good reviews. I went with a group of 4 and the overall sentiment after our meal was... "that was just okay." No "WOW" factor. I think they need to shake things up on the menu and with their chef. I was very disappointed with my tuna... I was expecting a good portion of a great piece of fish and since the asparagu...
First off, we were seated very promptly. By "We", I mean there was a group of 5 of us that was celebrating my girlfriend's birthday. The atmosphere was considerably spirited and buzzing on a Saturday night, as expected, and it was welcoming to both groups and romantic parties. The cocktail and wine menus were robust and very tantilizing. I do not have enough room to elaborate on each entree dish ...
I went to this restaurant with a group of people from work. The service was great and so was the food. The crab cakes are not made with imitation crab meat. You can actually taste the freshness of real crab meat as it hits your tongue. I tried lobster bisque for the first time and it was delicious. It has a very smooth taste to it, with a touch of spice, but not too much to the point where y...
I at cevons and service and food was outstanding and well worth the few minutes of waiting food the mouth watering well prepared food. thank you for an night to remmeber be back soon. KFR LIMO SERVICE Owner. Soon to open in the city of Philadelphia, Pa
I've been to this establishment several times and each time the food and the service have been great. I especially recommend the Seafood Medley for those seafood lovers out there. The Center City location and the relatively reasonable prices make this a great place. The bar scene can be a little loud.
My family and I had dinner here last week, and it was absolutely great. The food (I had Grouper, wife had Chilean Sea Bass) was fresh, and prepared so that you actually tasted the fish, as it was not smothered in some type of sauce etc. - awesome. The menu also had many choices of fresh fish, but also had items for the land lover too. The service was great too, we had Emily- she was great on answ...
Although it was VERY loud I thought the atmosphere was nice. The food was excellent. (I recommend the lobster bisque) Service was fast. I went there with one other person and we were in and out in a little over an hour. For 2 drinks, a filet dinner, the seafood medley and two soups it ran just under $100. I will definitely be returning! (My boyfriend found the chairs to be pretty uncomfortable b/...
My boyfriend and I were visiting Philly for the first time, wandering around aimlessly looking for someplace nice and romantic to eat, and this place was literally recommended to us by a stranger on the street! We went in with no reservations around 6pm and were seated right away, right in front of the open French doors overlooking a beautiful park. The food was great--I especially recommend th...
I went for lunch with a group of my co-workers. It was a very loud restaurant, and we could hardly hear our waitress. For apps - tuna tartare and calimari. Both were good and were good portions for four of us to share amongst ourselves. The crabcake meal comes with two medium-sized crabcakes that are all crab and almost no cake. We did make reservations for lunch.
I had lunch at Devon with some of my coworkers and I was very impressed! I had a pasta dish that was very tasty. Great biscuits, desert was fantastic and our waiter was very nice. My husband and I decided to try dinner there on New Year's Eve. We were very impressed. We both ordered filets and we both couldn't believe how delicious it was. I would HIGHLY recommend trying it. It was very te...
I would go just for the biscuits - they are excellent as is the location. The service was attentive though maybe not what you'd expect for the prices. Let's just leave it at "room for improvement". I had the crab cakes which were good (I think Bobby Chez's are better); server was great with wine suggestions. My husband didn't like the Mako Shark but since he doesn't normally eat shark it was ...
Food and drinks are great. If you can't decide what to order, just close your eyes and pick one. seriously everything is good. Services can be good and bad. first time I went, it was great. The second time it wasn't so good. Make sure you make reservation. It can get very crowded.
In 2006, I have dined at this restaurant 4 times. The food is fabulous which is the only reason why I still dine there. The service is downright RUDE!! Apparently, I am not the type of client that they would like others to see. My first experience entitled me to a wall table between the 2 large front windows when I requested a window seat facing the square. On my 2nd visit, I was told that th...
From the moment my boyfriend and I sit down we are treated wonderfully by the staff. From the corn bread to the lobster bisque everything is amazing. My boyfriend and I visit Devon's atleast 2-3 a year. If you need hgelp choosing wine ask your server for a sampling of different ones and they are so helpful when it comes to choosing the perfect meal.
Located in the prime of Rittenhouse Square, Devon Seafood is an upscale, very popular resteraunt for dining. Devon offers a lengthy list of wines and many different dishes to accomodate different tastes. The staff is all extremely friendly and the menu offers appetizers that are filling enough for a meal. I would highly recommend the Chipinio- a stewish seafood mix of plump mussells, shrimp, scal...
The food was good, wide range of fish although I was disappointed when I didn't find some more upscale fishes such as escolar... Halibut, sole, salmon appeared a little generic for a seafood specialty restaurant. I had the best bread and crab cake of my life. The ambience was good, king of trendy but I wouldn't go for a quiet date, the place is packed and noisy, the service was excellent. I would...
This is a great place for a small (or maybe large group)! I took my mom there for her birthday and it was perfect. The food was great and the service was wonderful! I suggest the scallops as well as the clam chowder and lobster bisque thought I'm sure everything on the menu is great.
Perfect for any special occasion
The seafood is always very fresh with a great selection of oysters. The service is prompt and friendly. Do yourself a favor and get a table outside. The restaurant overlooks Rittenhouse Square and it's gorgeous.
Wonderful place, being a philly native it is my favorite resturant, atomsphere is beautiful, and its wonderful to sit outside and look out onto rittenhouse square. Food is great. Service is always prompt. Absolutely love Devon.
Went there for a birhtday dinner with an 8:30p.m. reservation on a Saturday night. The ambiance was nice. We sat down, the waitress told us the specials and took our drink order. Three minutes later she came back and asked if we were ready to order. So began the rush. Half way through appetizers our dinner arrived, on the verge of being undercooked! You would think a seafood restaurant should ...
The concierge recommended Devon Seafood Grill, and we weren't sure what to expect. It's an attractive space with plenty of seating. Our server Carmela was an absolute pro, but also super friendly and a lot of fun. She was right there with everything we needed, and all of her suggestions from the menu were right on. The food was fabulous - my husband the mussel connaisseur declared them the b...
Though no bargain affair, Devon makes for a solid dining experience by offering well-prepared seafood classics. Grilled/broiled/seared standards are offered with basic vegetable sides, along with some more unusual choices (including a very good Cioppino seafood stew.) Start off with chilled oysters, great fried calamari, or a heaping bowl of mussels in white wine and garlic. Service is efficient ...
The service was quick and efficient, the bread was served the second we were seated. The food was unbelievably good. I would highly recommend Devon, everything was impecable down the dessert. I will definitly be going back, great find in Philadelphia.
We went without a reservation and got seated outside (where we wanted) within 5 min. The service was great...we were able to dine. The view of the park was relaxing. The food was terrific! We opted for the special...3 courses for $30. The choices were great and the food was delicious. The salad was wonderful! We will be back.
The food was great and the service was attentive and pleasant.
Like Saloon, Devon does not aspire to great cuisine, but perfectly prepared staples. Its seafood is delicious, fried calamari were original and the best I have had. Service was very good. Happy hours are a madhouse at the bar, so be warned, but this does not affect the sit down area.
I enjoyed my meal with family at Devon. It was a bit pricey but worth it. The food was really good. But it was the service I was most impressed with that night. My server...Kate...was excellent very detail oriented. I was quite impressed and would happly bring my (very picky) family back into town to visit Devon again.
Devon had decent food & yummy biscuits, a completely clueless staff (they couldn't even recommend a wine) and was nice and spacious. Was a decent place but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again.
