Who writes the glowing reviews that drove me to try Uncle Jacks--must be the owners and all his Cousins, Aunts and Uncles too because the food is really bad and those diners have not a taste bud in their heads! Lets start with the menu on a dark wall that can't be read and not a price visible. Started with King Crab legs that should have stayed on the crab--dry and tasting like straw--an expensi...
I have been to all the big and popular steak houses in New York and I find Uncle Jacks to be the best. Peter Lugers has a better steak then Uncle Jacks but not by much. Uncle Jack's steak is melt in your mouth, there appetizer are amazing and the lobster tails are one of the best i've ever had. The service at Uncle Jacks is amazing, I have not had an emptly glass for more then 30 seconds while di...
hands down my favorite restaurant ever. i don't even get anything fancy, but any chef who can make my steak actually well-done, but still melt-in-my-mouth delicious wins at life. every details of the food is interesting and delicious and the flavors melt together in the most perfect and sometimes unusual ways. I would recommend to anyone who want to eat well prepeared steak in Manhattan
Best steakhouse in this area!!! Highly recommended excellent service and food....Now, please do not go here and order fish....it is okay, not great, but you are going to a STEAKHOUSE....if you stick with the usual porterhouse for two I guarantee you will be 100% satisfied...ohh and the crab cakes are also worth it for appetizer! Best I have had in a long time!!!
Uncle Jacks has got to be the best Steakhouse in the area.
The food is excellent & the service is great.
The Manhattan Uncle Jacks is great too.
Yes, it is pricey, however, so are all the other top Steakhouses and Uncle Jacks is the best.
Great place for special occasions too.
Went there for my anniversary. Excellent food and service. A little pricey but perfect for those special occasions
Been here several times now and have come away happy (and stuffed) every time. Whether it's a romantic dinner with your spouse or a business dinner with associates, you won't go wrong here. Not as "famous" as other spots like Peter Lugar's or Morton's but I think the steaks here are better than both. The wait staff is always attentive and the food is cooked to perfection...never overdone! Granted...
Wow,Uncle Jacks serves the best meal in,NYC !!! Fresh mozarella and tomatoes, baked clams-full of flavor. The dry-aged porterhouse is out of this world, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach-yum.The Captain Peter was excellent-the sevice throghout night was impeccable,he was full of energy and personality !!! I will definitely be coming back with my friends !!!
I went to uncle jacks' recently for a friends birthday. I had never been there before and wasn't expecting it to be that good, however, i must say i was very suprised at how delicious the food was. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, and everything we ordered was excellent with the exception of the kobe steak. It was tough and rubbery and just not worth it. Stick with the simple stuff and you...
I took my husband to uncle Jack's on my trio to New York . Once we stepped in the restaurant, there was that great gentleman in a nice tux, he greated us very nicely and directed us to the reservation desk. The person behind the desk was a POOR representation of the restaurant for the lack of better word,. He treated us with very bad manners, a guy with a strange american accent and no brain. On...
My first time in this restaurant was on mathers day, crabcakes ,porterhouse for 2 garlic mash and cream spinach ,wow i never have better steak before ,my mather was very happy,my captain Peter did great job! We be back soon!
I took my wife here for her birthday dinner one time, I've made reservation couple of weeks in advance and when we got there we still needed to wait like 15-20 minutes for our table. I guess it shows they are good and EVERYONE goes there. It usually doesn't bothers me too much waiting for tables in a good place but I was a little upset that time b/c it is for my wife's birthday and don't want to ...
i love this place its so calm , i cant belive how great it is , i realy love this place ,, i realy do everybody should everyone should come here , yea i think so i love it yes i realy do ,,, i lover it kiity night knows whats best for lovers
The steaks here are great. The Best. But it takes more than just a good steak to be the best in class. The sides are perfect. We shared two sides between three people, and every bite was a flavor explosion. The wine list was extensive, and also had some familiar offerings.
What takes this place over the top is the ambiance and service. The bar is a gorgeous hand carved dark wood with s...
One of my favorite steakhouses. The steaks are buttery soft and melt in your mouth. The crabcakes are awesome. Service is great. I didn't try the dessert and opted for Ralph's italian ices just half a block away instead. Atmosphere is small and intimate. Valet parking is available (otherwise parking can be a bit of a hassle). Somewhat pricey for Queens.
BETTER THAN RUTH CHRIST TODAY, TOMORROW ANYDAY!!!! DON'T JUST SIT THERE. GET OUT TO UNCLE JACK'S STEAKHOUSE. HE'S THE UNCLE YOU WANT TO SEE ON THE HOLIDAYS AND EVERY DAY!!!
GREAT PLACE TO ENJOY A REAL AMERICAN MEAL..
Heading out east on Northern Boulevard there are so many steak houses you need a scorecard...Uncle Jacks (technically on Bell Blvd), Peter Lugar's, Morton's, Burton and Doyle, Bryant and Cooper, Sagamore, etc., etc....but you needn't drive too far east, the first stop is the BEST. Uncle Jack's is a small, cozy spot, but the fare is fabulous (just ask Mayor Bloomberg, who dines here at least twic...
We took my pops here for Father's Day last night. While the food was good, service tried way too hard. They didnt know the difference between being observant (good service) vs. overbearing. The crabcakes were great, the shrimp cocktail was NOT NOT worth. Now to the steaks.. we had the poterhouse and the ny strip. The NY Strip was charrred but still tasty if you scrapped the charred top off....
I went to uncle jack's recently and it was one of the best dining experiences i've ever had. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, he was one of my favorite parts of the evening. The steaks were delicious along with the creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. The shrimp cocktail is huge and the tiramisu cake is wonderful.
i had dinner in uncle jack's steakhouse with my friends. it was ladys day out. we choosed to go there because this steakhouse was famous and we wanted to have nice dinner for the holiday. however i think ambience was really not good because it was so noisy loud really bad to have conversation with my friends.. also most of people were
men, me and my friends felt little uncomfortable being surrou...
After our waiter described the kobe beef i had to give it a try despite the $100 price tag. And it was the most amazing meat I have eaten. I won't even call it steak because it didn't even taste/feel like steak. It was something entirely different. I can only say that the steak really melted in my mouth while i had to chew the usda prime filet. The regular filet & strip were great too, but n...
I JUST HAD DINNER AT THE NEW UNCLE JACKS ON 9TH AVE &34ST.IT WAS AMAZZING!!THE BEST STEAK I'VE EVER HAD,AND THE LOBSTER TAIL WAS HUGE!!THE DECOR IS BEAUTIFUL,THE ATMOSPHERE WAS FANTASTIC.THE SERVICE WAS LIKE a 6 STAR HOTEL!
I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK WITH SOME OF MY FRIENDS!
I have been going to Uncle Jacks for years now and I have tried many other steak houses. I keep going back to uncle jacks because the steak is simply the best in new york. The way the steak tastes is like no other steak house steak. Do yourself a favor and go get a medium rare ny strip with a side of garlic mashed and an ice cold bass ale.
Overpriced and after looking at the reviews overated. Not bad food, I just don't get all the hype. If you want much better go to Dylan Prime or Morton's. And if you plan on going to the Queens location try bourbon street right down the block; just as good and 1/2 the price.
Went to uncle jack's last night for a romantic dinner. crabcake appetizer was fine. the filet was ordered medium and came CHARRED! Too well done, not enjoyable. Service tried too hard and since there were only 5 or so other tables the wait staff hovered around us constantly. It ruined the evening. I felt for the $$ we spent it was not worth it. 9pm on a friday night and it was a dead atmos...
By far, my favorite steak house (and I have been to them all)! I have eaten at the original in Bayside, Queens and recently at the new location on 9th Ave in the city. The original is still my favorite (more of a personalized feel with the service and food seems to taste a bit better), but both are amazing! Steaks are the best I've had, the creamed spinach is amazing and highly recommended, an...
The best steakhouse by far...one of NYC best kept secrets....Our waiter Brian was superb...couldn't ask for a better...not too pushy and suggestions were fabulous!!! The food was excellent. The surf and turf was magnificent!!! The steak melts in ur mouth...full of flavor and the 25oz Lobster Tail...forget about it... it was excellent as well. The appetizers were awesome especially the Crab cakes....
We neer heard about this small cozy restaurant in Bayside Queens but we finally went a few months ago and have back almost weekly since then.
We have consistantly received great treatment every time we go. It is the best steaks we have ever eaten and all the other food is of the same quality.
We will continue to go and tell all our friends.
Mmm....steak!! This place makes a mean porterhouse steak. I also had the garlic mashed potato, lobster tails, and crab cakes. They were all VERY GOOD! The service was excellent. The staff was so nice. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants GREAT food and service.
I have had the best steak and seafood HERE. No where else in NY is as good!!PERIOD!And no one gave me a dime to say this.
Always consistently good food and service. I have never had a bad meal there. Small and very quaint. The quality of meat is as good or better than Peter Luger's. The seafood is so fresh that you will swear that you were near Fulton Fish Market. The portions are huge. I recommend the porterhouse and the chilean sea bass, split it with someone and enjoy a great but different surf and turf comb...
Excellent. Great porterhouse for 2. Excellent desert. Staff is friendly and helpful. A bit pricey for Queens but worth it.
