The Royalton - Definitely past it's prime I stayed at The Royalton many years ago when Boutique Hotels were just coming into fashion. Unfortunately, The Royalton is still trading on its original reputation which far exceeds the current standards of the hotel.
The staff are not as attentive or sharp as they once were, but then neither is the hotel. The rooms and suites are small and overpriced. I'd far rather try some of the newer hote... Read More On CitysearchCitysearch User 6/9/2009

Swanky interior, but hope you're not claustrophic I'm a big fan of the Royalton and really enjoyed my stay, although the rooms are pretty small (even by Manhattan standards) and could use better lighting.
The foyer level bar scene is great - bring your expense account - and the hotel has a more relaxed atmosphere than it's midtown counterparts. Recommended! Read More On Citysearchmeyers72002 11/19/2008
Everything is good there Divine Impact Corporation
The ambiance is just right. dark wood everything, hunting pictures on the walls . . . what better setting in which to consume a slab of half-cooked beef in all its flavorful and juicy deliciousness? BONUS POINTS for having bearnaise! I remember calling a couple of other steakhouses in the city to ask if they had it . . . and I swear to you, the people on the other en... Haa haa! I don't want to talk too much about the royalton. But in a few words: this is an excellent comfortable and classy hotel. The lobby, once you find the 'hidden building' is a treat for the senses. I booked the penthouse suite and enjoyed it for the night. No high traffic on my floor or in the hotel. I just noticed people 'glowing' or happy walking around doing what they were doing. I see why ... Read More On Citysearchdjbubs 10/13/2006
The Best Hotel In NYC My Girlfriend and I checked into Royalton in Midtown Manhattan in March and the staff was amazing. I proposed to my girlfriend and the staff created an environment of rose petals, candles and romantic music. It couldn't have been more special. She said yes.
To celebrate, we enjoyed a romantic Room Service Dinner and the Chef created a personalized menu of his favorite dishes. It was truly ... Read More On Citysearchemaynard 3/28/2006
Wouldn't do it again... I went with my girlfriend to The Royalton to stay for a weekend two weeks ago and chose the Alcove suite, given that is their largest room. I was very disappointed with the room, as the place lacked color and vivid light, it was gloomy and very monotonic, albeit its white chairs and fabrics. The bathtub was amazing, truly, but even in the bathroom there was rust on many corners and some "ugly" ... Read More On Citysearchnikolaos 2/28/2006
Great for the holidays I was pleased with this modern hotel. My husband & I just spent the holidays here. Just some advise check the hotel's website for rates. I checked and the hotel tends to have special ones from time to time. The room was clean. Let's face it that's what most of us are looking for. The rooms aren't huge but comfortable, if traveling with children get a suite. The location is perfect during the holi... Read More On CitysearchCitysearch User 11/2/2005
Nice PLace but small rooms The regular rooms here are pretty niceand are kept cleanbut they are really small. I heard that if you get the more expensive rooms they are much larger. I really had fun in the lounge it was kind of like a hangout. I would say if you have the cash go for the bigger room. Ours was just too small. Read More On CitysearchCitysearch User 7/29/2005
Beautiful lobby This hotel has an amazing lobby - it is so well decorated it takes your breath away the first time you see it. The rooms are extremely dim - I had to ask staff to bring me an extra lamp! The rooms are surprisingly ordinary compared to the lobby areas which lead you to believe that your room will be like a palace, but still very nice with comfortable bed (very important to me). The staff was he... Read More On CitysearchCitysearch User 7/15/2005
