I've been in NY for over 20yrs. I have frequented the Monster from time to time. I like going, because it's a great night out with reasonably priced drinks and good music - DOWNSTAIRS. However, the owner needs to hire BLACK BARTENDERS! There are NONE! A lot of BLACKS attend this club and patronize it frequently.
Let's see some COLOR behind the BAR in 2010!

Some guys in another bar reccommended a few spots that didn't turn out, so we headed back to Christopher Street for some bar hopping and happened into Monsters, which turned out to be exactly what we were hoping to find. The crowd was friendly, the staff was nice, and the music was pumpin'. I'd definately go back!

So what if I'm usually the only woman in there? Drinks are reasonably priced for NY, and they always have great music. It's on the corner that overlooks a small park, so you get to watch a lot of folks as well. Fun place.

The happy hour crowd is filled with regulars who greet you with a friendly hello and welcome new faces to meet and unwind after a hard days work. It does tend to be a mature crowd but is a mix.
