delicious food The food here is absolutely delicious. Best burger in the area, and one of the best in the city. The regular fries and the chicken sandwiches are also amazing. Read More On Citysearchlbertcr 5/10/2009
Chalkboards for tables! I have been here only place, but the first impression was great! This place is very cute. While waiting for your food, you can doodle on the tables with chalk. I found that simply amazing! I ordered mocha with whip cream and was simply delicious. I definitely plan to revisit this cafe in the near future. Read More On CitysearchCitysearch User 10/26/2008
Simple entertainment I went here on a whim with my friend while I was at a medical conference in the city. I have to say, that this place a loads of fun, even if we only stayed for 30 minutes. The cozy antique look of the place was what attracted us, and the menu got us to stay. The middle eastern theme was interesting and the prices were very good. I ordered a chocolate egg cream which was delicious. Also, they tabl... Read More On CitysearchCitysearch User 10/19/2008
Amazing WIngs and Atmosphere I love this place! i went once with some friends on a whim and now whenever ive craving wings and im in the city thats where i go. I love love love wings and ive been many many places for them, but the great thing about the wings here is that they have a really unique taste. They are a bit spicy but so full or flavor, even their blue cheese dip is unique and the combination is like flavor heaven.... Read More On Citysearchmsnyc18 9/18/2008

Late Night Eats This is an excellent place to eat after you've been out an about in the Village, be it 1am or 1pm. Love the Charlie Chaplin silent movies, can get kind of crowded though at night. Its cheap and you can draw on the table while you wait for your food. They've taken away the the Shwarma Guy though to make more room for tables, so its a little tight and busy (especially at night). Comedians run ramp... Read More On Citysearchrenee_james 4/5/2007

good food, one of my frequents i really like the food and drinks here. i recommend getting the hummus platter thingies, they are really good and not expensive at all. the desserts are especially tasty, and drinks are usually good too. i have to agree though that the service is kind of crappy. you may have to ask for a drink a couple times before you get it. but the coolest part about the restaurant are the chalkboard tabl... Horrible Service The food is good, but the service is horrible. When you come in, the hotess will ask you, with a nasty face, how many people are coming and if you're really hungry. They rush over to get your order without giving you time to think and when you tell them you're ready, they make you wait a half hour until they take your order. They are spiteful and do not bring your food out quickly if you took a l... Read More On Citysearchcutielishius 9/23/2006
Worth the 2 hours ride from Connecticut after moving away from NYC and 3 years later you just can not find anything like anywhere else. The Mid Eastern platter are to die from the kabobs make my husbands mouth water even if he just had dinner. The lines are alway long but well worth it The place is a hole in the wall just like you alway hear people say when they find that great little place and THIS IS IT!! see all of you soon. Great Ambience, good for a casual first date Big chalk board tables, chess sets provided when not full, great service, so-so food, beautiful lighting, cramped center tables but spacious booths worth waiting for. Charlie Chaplin movies have been playing on a Projector here for at least 11 years- I have been coming here for that long! Great place for a first date- especially with the comedy club right downstairs. Read More On Citysearchbluemoon223 11/7/2005

Yummy! Like everyone else has stated, the food is good and cheap. Menu is endless. The Falafel, humus, tehina, babaganoush combo was great and the nachoes come with an entire plate of sides, instead of a soggy pileup. Unlimited pitas! Margaritas are good and I got to see Dave Atell! Read More On Citysearchpsycheflame 6/23/2004
Cheap & Tasty Great location and Middle Eastern fare with blackboard tables make for a fun dinner. Although the place is a bit small, we were seated less than 10 mins after we arrived at 7 PM on a Friday night. Food was typical but tasty nonetheless, and the sangria was very delicious and relatively cheap, although maybe not "authentic". Bathroom is a long trip downstairs through the comedy club, so plan a... Read More On Citysearchlnyav 2/23/2004

DELISH! The only place I haven't ventured on that block and I must say, much like Cafe Wha, Comedy Cellar, and the Village Underground, this place does NOT disappoint. Cheap and absolutely yummy!!! This place is great - comforting food, good fast service and it's very cheap. Remember this good tip when there is a long wait for a schwarma platter - ask for a side of schwarma - it's almost as much meat as in the platter, but you can get it faster. Favorite NYU Grad Theatre They have great sangria and fun tables that they let you draw on with chalk. You get good wraps and burgers for your money, but it's always quite crowded and noisy. There's an odd thing with the bathroom, too because you need a "hall pass" with the code to get downstairs (the comedy cellar) and you have to pass by the stage to get to the bathrooms. I got heckled by the comedian last time I was... Read More On Citysearchjtyne 5/8/2003
groovy went to olive tree cafe for the first time this past friday after work. was alot of fun, absolutely love the chalkboad bar/tables sooo much fun. reasonably priced drinks. careful going to the bathroom those stairs get a lil iffy after a few too many (also stalls were tiny as well as bathrooms in general) but all in all would go back again and prolly a few more after that time Read More On Citysearchphilly107 2/2/2003
Best. Cafe. Period. Great food, cheap food, great atmosphere, fantastic desserts, and slate tables. It doesn't get any better. Only word of warning -- it's a pain in the butt if you want to go to the bathroom, and getting a table on a weekend night is tough. But this is hands down the best cafe in the Village. Good eats, fun place Blackboard tables to play while waiting for food. To get to the bathrooms, have to walk past the stage where you might get heckled by the standup comedian that shows downstairs. Priced right too. Read More On Citysearchcallmezo 10/25/2002
Great ambience, great deal Simply put, this is my favorite hangout in the village. The food's tasty and cheap (try the borscht or the nachos - yes, the menu's that diverse), and the ambience couldn't be more unique - any place that lets you draw on the tables with chalk is OK with me. The big screen showing Chaplin films is also fun. The service tends to be a bit on the unfriendly side, but it's worth it for the value and ... Read More On Citysearchlipstickvogue 7/15/2002
