Yes, Animerge is incredibly expensive- but I would recommend them if you're in a pinch and your pet needs serious medical attention.
We adopted a boxer lab puppy last week and after only a couple days at home, we realized her cough was pretty serious and she needed medical attention. Our vet was fully booked and recommended Animerge, so we took her there.
We were devastated when we found...
OK for all of you complaining about money issues well let me tell you. YOUR PET IS SICK DOES MONEY REALLY MATTER!!!. YES ITS EXENSIVE FOR EMERGENCY. sorry had to get that off my back but think about when anyone you know is sick does the price really matter? As long as they can cure them and take care of them and live the price is worth it. If your pet isnt really suffering or sick then dont...
Animerge was very caring and compassionate
in there dealings with my dog. I was satisfied
with the way I was treated. Every staff member
was professional, courteous, and friendly.
Reading many of the reviews in this category have made me concerned about the severe lack of knowledge and respect of todays common person. I am an emergency veterinarian, although I am not affiliated with Animerge. Let me address a few issues.
Cost: do any of you know what it takes to run an emergency clinic? To have the equipment to diagnose your pet any time, to keep it staffed 24/7? I ...
Coming from previous employees that I know of they all have said individually that Animerge will diagnose a pet with an illness of any sort and push the owner to consider beuthanasia and I believe this. I have had over 6 dogs these past few years (I rescue) and everytime I have brought my pet there for something simple, the thought of putting the pet down was brought up. The one time I brought in...
I took my cat to Animerge over the weekend due to the fact that my normal vet. was not open.
Upon walking in, they immediately took my cat away and I waited to meet with the vet. When he came in, he told me that my cat was suffering from asthma. He told me this without even giving me a chance to tell him what had been happening over the weekend and breathing difficulty wasn't even one of the p...
Regarding your ferret and the care it received at Animerge. The staff at Animerge does ask what is wrong with your pet when your call is received, and often will check with the current doctor to be sure they are comfortable if it is NOT a dog or cat, before advising you to bring your pet into the the hospital. Even if the doctor on staff at that moment sees ferrets, the receptionists have always...
Adding a correction to the Crooks review. NO they do not charge you before they even talk to you. You are seen, your pet is treated and then a doctor goes over the price with you before you pay and then leave. Get your facts straight before you open your mouth about them.
To the people who complain about the consultation fee, you are aware of the fee before you even walk in the door. When you ...
I recently brought my 14 year old cat in for an emergency visit over Thanksgiving.
New to the area, the local recommended vet was off for the holiday.
My cat was diagnosed with Azotemia( kidney disease) and was dehydrated from not eating for a few days. He also suffers from herpes which generates an upper respiratory condition during times of stress and can last more than a week.
I received ...
my pet was in a life threatening situation so I had brought it to animerge. Someone was there to help me immediately. The technical staff took my pet to the veterinarian right away for help. The staff's experience and immediate response to my pets illness may have saved it's life.
just recently I had the unfortunate necessity to need an emergency hospital for my pet. One of the vets I have used in the past and have a very high respect for is a stakeholder for Animerge, so I felt confident that the service and treatment would be top notch....It was't and not by a long way...
My past animal emergency experience has been; I was greeted upon arrive and escorted into an exam...
My dog cut his paw in Pennsylvania on a Saturday so we had to bandage him up there. Then we drove him here and waited about an hour because there were other animals who needed attention too. Once we got called, the vet and the vet technition looked him over and gave us a low - high estimate of where the price would fall. We left our dog with them and a few hours later got a call to pick him up...
I brought my beloved cat to Animerge and unfortunately she had to be put to sleep do to renal failure. She was kept overnight and the next day we had our appointment. Upon arrival I was greeted by reception and then by an assistant who happily asked if I was there to pick up my cat. Clearly they should have some sort of sensitivity training.
I had to ask that we complete paperwork and pay for o...
My dog was sprayed in his face by a skunk at 11:30 pm. I called Animerge because the spray was in the dogs eyes and he was rubbing his face in the grass. I was very upset that he could go blind or get an infection. The person that answered the phone didn't know what to do. She told me to hold on, after several minutes a tech. came on the phone. I said I was concerned about the dogs eyes. She told...
I have had an occasional visit to Animerge and although the vets are satisfactory, I do not think they are worth the prices they charge. I think the other vets in the area should be ashamed of themselves. Pet owners are loyal to them all year long and then they are not available when you really need them. To be financially raped to boot is an insult. Animerge always wants to do way more than what...
My cat was sick with a urinary issue - Vet closed. I went to Animerge because I didn't want to risk him not being treated until morning. We called ahead and were told that they could not advise us over the phone, we'd have to come in. They further said that Walking in incurrs a $110.00 charge before the pet is even seen. We arrived and there was 1 pet being seen ahead of us. We waited. They...
This place knows that when you come to them you have no other choice. If your pet gets sick after normal vet hours, you have to come here. They overcharge ridculously and make you pay before they will even talk to you. They charged me over $300 for my ferret and did not even help. The end conclusion was that they did not know what to do with him and told me to take him to my vet the next day.
I brought my dog here in an emergency situation and felt that she was well cared for. The staff seems compassionate about helping animals and they see patients with more urgent cases taking priority. I did feel I was overcharged, as did my vet, but in an emergency, you don't have many options. In this way, I do think Animerge tends to take advantage of their patients' owners' vulnerability. Howev...
This is an emergency room for pets. They are open at night and weekends. I used them when my dog was attacked by a pit bull and needed help at 10pm. The Vet was the fantastic. They were very thoughtful and thorough and really great all around. Its about $100 to walk in the door. They were great and if you ever are in an emergency with your pet go there.
PROS: Open when your vet isn't
CONS: Pr...
