Smitty's Clam Bar is just okay
Yes, as everyone says, the clam chowder is very good. However, the menu is limitied and so many choices are fried seafood. The fried platter was just like clams and fish out of a Gorton's box. It was a fun night out, but I wouldn't go back.

Fantastic
Sit at the bar outside for faster service. Chowder is always great. Bring a bottle if you like. And get some to go after you are done. Fantastic!! Check it out.

BEST CLAM CHOWDER!
Smitty's Clam Bar has the best clam chowder I've ever had! This place is always packed, but totally worth the wait. To avoid the crowded confusion inside the restaurant, I always get mine to go! HIGHLY recommend it!

Fresh Seafood
Great Bayside dining & delicious food. The staff works very hard. You usually have to wait, however bring a bottle of wine or a cooler with beer & enjoy the beautiful bay views. The prices are very reasonable. But bring cash - its all they take1 Also there is no Air conditioning so dress casual & cool. Try the clam chowder. It is by far the best I've had! I love the red, but the white is good too.
