  12. Good place on occasion
The Canjun Queen is set in an old house and the atmoshpere does take you to another place. The tables are somewhat close so you are eating with strangers right next to you and in your conversation. The server was not able to fit inbetween the tables to the left or right of ours and had to serve from behind me, so initamcy is not available. The food was freshly prepared, but the Chef does not need...

  15. Great Food, Great Outdoor Patio
Had a great experience my fist time at the Queen of Cajun. I had the Bayou Platter and my girlfriend had the Etouffee. Both were excellent but I especially liked the blackened seasoning on the chicken and catfish mine came with. From what I heard the Etouffee is one of the most popular on the menu so you can't go wrong with either one. Overall, I will def return and recommend.

  16. One of the best in Charlotte
The band is great but can be overpowering if you are right in front of them. I have had numerous items on the menu and have never had one dish that did not exceed my expectations. The BBQ Shrimp app is a MUST. I dont even care if they put the shrimp in, the sauce and bread are the best. you will get a different atmosphere and food quality is as good if not better that locations like del frisco.

  18. Awesome Cajun food!
By far the best Cajun restaurant in Charlotte! Whenever my husband and I have a date night, we tend to end up here. Great atmosphere, great food, and the servers are very friendly. Some of the food is spicy but I think that's to be expected at a Cajun restaurant. There are lots of things on the menu that aren't spicy, too, so there's something for everyone.

  19. By Far- My favorite restaurant in Charlotte!
A mere 3 1/2 years ago, I was brought to Cajun Queen on a date. Since, this restaurant has been a favorite of mine. I love the atmosphere; always sitting upstairs! The jazz band provides fabulous live entertainment. However, I would advise sitting across the room is you are planning on having a quite conversation. Their is usually a wait and the bar upstairs provides great drinks to sip on w...

  20. Best cajun around
This place is great! Staff are very pleasant. Food is out of site!!! I have been a regular since '97. I have tried everything or just about and it's all delicious. Blackened is wonderful. Toppings you can get are excellent. The Dixieland Band is an asset to the already great atmosphere. Everyone should go and try this out. Kudos to the Cajun Queen!!!!

  21. Five stars is not enough
The best cajun food around!!! The restaurant is in an old house and the quaint atmosphere is as good as the food. The music, the ambiance and the servers just add the wonderful cuisine. I recommend everyone to this restaurant, don't worry not all the food is spicy there is something for everyone.

  22. Don't try the balckened food
My wife and I went there tonight for our anniversary -- we try a new restaurant every year. This was our first disappointing experience in 8 years. The crawfish scampi was good, and my wifes meal was pretty good as she had the fried oysters and fried shrimp. I love Cajun food. Gumbo is one of my favorites and a good blackened catfish and shrimp. Thus, that is what I ordered. The Gumbe was n...

  24. A hidden gem
This place is amazing. I came here to see a friend play, as they often feature live jazz, and not only was the music excellent the food was stunning. Real spicy Cajun food! Between the jazz, the ambiance, the classy service, and the really great food, this place has become one of my fav restaurants in Charlotte.

  25. Best Food In Town!
I've been going to the Cajun Queen for years, and I just love it. I used to go just for special occasions, but now that they've revamped, I'm there at least once a week. Their covered patio is the best room in the house, unless I'm in party mode--then I sit with the band upstairs. The wait on Saturdays can get pretty long, but as long as I have a spot at their new bar with a 7th Street Stumbler i...

  29. Great cajun food
Cajun Queen serves up awesome Cajun-style food. If you like spicy food, this is the place for you. I have tried a lot of different items on the menu, and have yet to be disappointed. The Jerk Chicken is simply amazing, as are the desserts. The prices are reasonable, especially for a local restaurant. The also have a small kids menu, with the typical fare.

We love this place! The food is amazing- I always get the crawfish diane. My husband loves the catfish. We like the atmosphere, too, although its always crowded. Drinks are reasonably priced and plenty strong!

  31. Delicious - We can't wait to go back!
Try the barbecued shrimp and fried oysters for appetizers. The oysters practically melt in your mouth. I had shrimp, chicken and crawfish "Diane" style and it was awesome. My husband had the duck and loved it too. We went there on a Saturday night and it was very busy, but be patient and you will not be disappointed.

  32. Love this restaurant!
We had our rehersal dinner in the upstairs part of this victorian house. It was amazing! The food was fabulous, as always. The service was helpful! The menu has so many choices that there are options for every taste! Spicy, mild, fried, boiled, the choice is yours! We've found that wether there are 2 people or 22 the service is consistant. This is definately one of our favorite resturant...

Large protions and the most authentic Cajun eatin' that I have encountered east of the Mississippi. Great service. Dining rooms were a little small, but appropriate for a converted house.

  36. Wonderful
I am not even a cajun food fan and I love this place. I have been once and it was really a treat. The salmon and shrimp are amazing - their spices are mouthwatering even for someone who doesn't have a taste for real hot stuff. Very cozy and romantic.

  37. Cajun Queen spices up your life!
Great fun and great food have made the Cajun Queen an anticipated stop whenever we visit Charlotte. The food is always consistently good and the atmospher leads itself to a fun evening. The owners Rob and Howie go out of their way to make sure that each guest is treated royally. We heartily recommend the Cajun Queen

  38. OOO WEE
This is the absolute best cajun place I have ever eaten at!! this is a ten all around. My boyfriend and I highly recommend the crawfish scampi, and make sure you dip the french bread in the sauce! This place not only has great food, but it has a live jazz band and it's in an old house, which just adds to the atmosphere. I wish we had a place in Atlanta as good as the Cajun Queen.
