This is the Best Culinary School in all of NYC I love cooking and I love to learn how to make myself a better chef so I take cooking classes all the time. I have gone to many culinary schools here in New York and I must say The Institute is the best! I try to take at least two of their classes every month the staff is amazing! I have become twice the chef I used to be thanks to The Institute of Culinary Education!!! Read More On CitysearchBridgetann 8/6/2009

Amazing Classes I took several of the recreational classes here with some friends. We took Beer & Meats, Introduction to the Wine Regions of France, and Home Entertaining: Dinner Party. I just threw my first dinner party over the weekend and i u... Read More On Citysearchmereditheats 7/15/2009
not *quite* as advertised..... The class I attended only slightly resembled the description posted on-line. And, they had allowed 23 students into a kitchen that maybe should have held 12-14. It was an absolute mess. People were bumping into each other trying to find ingredients and equipment. When I spoke with the staff about the situation, I was told they couldn't offer any alternative other than a credit toward a future... Read More On Citysearchdeenac212 12/26/2007
Terrible customer service I recently took a class led by Chef Loren. He was condescending and rude, treating us like underperforming students. At $100 a person for the class, I was disappointed and angered - especially because this was supposed to be a GIFT to the person attending with me. My e-mail to the school explaining my experience has gone unanswered. Read More On Citysearchjasonblacknyc 9/5/2007
A Cutting Edge Cooking School in the heart of NYC! Highly recommend taking classes here if you are looking to really learn a thing or two about cooking. The school is extremely well designed, clean and modern. The teachers were very informative and I took away cooking lessons I would have never learned watching Rachel Ray on TV! Great Recreational Classes This place provides great cooking classes with lots of food provided. The class I attended was cancelled due to the rooms being overbooked. That was the only disappointment. This should be managed better. They did give us a free one day class and a credit of $107 towards any other class. Read More On Citysearchnisa 12/23/2004
Truly AWESOME! The Institue of Culinary Education has evolved out of the former Peter Kumps Cooking School - and what an evolution it has been!
I have been both a recreational and a pro-am student there for years and LOVE it. The facilities, instructors, ingredients and administrative staff are all excellent.
