We love the Wild Grape and think that it is one of the best resturants in Salt Lake City. We have dined at the WG about once a month since they opened. We particularly like the daily soup, only once were we disappointed.
The lamb and fish entrees are excellent. Recently the oven baked halibut was superb as was the Morgan Valley Sugo. Our son, who loves the lamb burger, thoroughly enjoyed ...
My husband and I arrived desiring a relaxing evening with well-prepared food. For the second time in 3 months, we were seated but a server never showed up. We were about to leave when the management offered profuse apologies and a lovely server named Dax appeared. We ordered a salad, soup and the roasted chicken dinner, and never in my SLC dining experience did we have worse food in a restaura...
Family x-mas get together
When my brother and wife arrived the only thing they could talk about was going back to the Wild Grape for dinner. The food is unique and out of this world. Simple, understandable and approachable. Why don't others follow their lead. I am vegan and was happy to find the Acorn stew served in the acorn to be right up my alley. Others were meat lovers. Bison ribeye wa...
I've eaten at the Wild Grape a couple times, and each time I was underwhelmed. I feel like the food just isn't what it should be for the price.
I am a local chef at another popular restaurant and this is where I go to eat. They have very professional, friendly wait staff. They are open until midnight Wed-Sat. I have never felt rushed as I usually go in late. The chef's counter is a great place to be. The cooks will interact with you, give you (give you) free bites to eat while you wait for your dinner. They have many wines by the glass. ...
Never in my life have I been so ignored as a patron at a restaurant. Especially one that is within the 1st year of operations. I sat at the cooking counter where you can observe the dishes being prepared. I was ignored for 10+ minutes. Then offered water and waited another 8 minutes and finally a server who was very apologetic came by rushing through my order. The worst part was watching the chef...
This is my 3rd trip to Wild Grape. You never want to judge too harshly or positively in the first few months of a restaurants life, since there are so many hiccups to work through. However, on this last trip through, it seems the old problems just don't stop. On each visit now, the food has come out cold. Once it wasn't just "not warm"...but actually "cold". I ordered a specialty hot chocolate on...
Went to brunch last weekend. Food was NOT good. small portions, my bread was toasted, however my friend's was not, she got two little pieces of plain bread next to her cold eggs. Potatoes were not seasoned well, and undercooked. Two tiny pieces of light brown rubbery bacon.....totally disgusting. We asked the waitress if she could ask them to crisp up the bacon...it came back black on one side...
This has become something of a regular spot for us. We have been about 6 times including once for brunch and see the continual efforts to improve and refine.
Starting with wine: I am very impressed by the knowledge the wait staff demonstrateof the various wines (I did pop in to the restaurant before it opened as I saw there were a number of people in there and spoke to Chuck, the owners fat...
Hi I decided to try the Wild Grape again on my 2nd trip to S.L.C. . I was here for a few days last year when they first opened and was able to meet with the owner Troy who was able to tell me about his resautraunt. The idea was great it was great food the waitstaff was very professional and the food was amazing.I am very glad not to of written my review then. My second trip was not worth my visit...
My husband and I moved to Davis county last year from California. It's been so difficult to live in a world of Applebees, Chili's and Olive Gardens..not our idea of going out to eat.
I work at the U and although sad to see the Avenues Bakery close, I was happy to see the Wild Grape open. I drove past for weeks and noticed it was packed. So we had dinner there two weekends ago.
First, do mak...
We went to The Wild Grape for the first time this morning, for brunch. We'll probably try it again for their other meals, but with much lower expectations. I had eggs benedict, with smoked portobello mushrooms and spinach. The hollandaise was fine, as were the eggs, but the English muffin had the bitter taste of an inexpensive brand from the grocery store. I wish the menu had mentioned that t...
After going back to the grape with a friend who hadn't tried it, I am still very into this place. We chose a seat on the patio where the grapevines blocked the noise from the street. Sat back had blue corn waffles (amazing) and drank lychee and strawberry rhubarb mimosas. The found came out timely and delicious and the staff was completely friendly. The manager greeted every table and stop to c...
Dinner for 5, all with different choices, all were great.
We tried two different wines new to us - great results.
Service was attentive and quick without being at the table all the time.
We are going back - often.
I just ate at "The Wild Grape", and was completely content with the food, ambiance and service. I have been in for lunch, had the sliders (YUM!), so I decided to come back for dinner. At dinner I enjoyed the late night appetizer menu. I had a salad and a Beehive cheese plate. The wine list is wonderful, and being that I live in the Avenues... I really like being able to sit and chill for a bi...
I think I?m in love. I first visited The Wild Grape for dinner, I?ve been daydreaming about the place at least once a day. The ?new west bistro? opened about a month ago in the space formerly occupied by Avenues Bakery, and my palate is eternally grateful.
On our first visit to the cozy and casual-looking establishment, I ordered the Wild Grape Cider Brined Pork Loin Chop. Cooked over a wood b...
I will try it again to see if it improves, but I was not impressed with my first visit. They didn't have the first dish we wanted, nor the second. Finally we found one available that sounded good to us. The risotto was starchy not creamy and the salad wasn't great. How do you mess up a salad? Great location and great set-up. They are definitely still working out the kinks as far as the food goes....
I have been to most if not all of the nice restaurants in Salt Lake City, but one recently caught my attention. Situated in the most convenient location right on South Temple at E Street, The Wild Grape New West Bistro is the best experience I have had in a restaurant in Salt Lake City. Our server was very personable, and having been a server myself, I think it is important for servers to have a ...
Not only do I love this restaurant, I love this location! It is close to downtown and it sits beautifully in the Avenues! When we arrived, the restaurant was very busy in the little bar area as well as the dining area, but there was a table for 2 available. We started with the crab cakes and a bottle of the 7 Deadly Zin's (FABULOUS). For our entrees, I had the Bison Filet Mignon with Butternu...
