The best authentic Greek food in Austin This is the best place to get truly authentic Greek food in Austin. I went to Greece about a year and a half ago. When I came back, I was missing Greek food and someone told me about El Greco. I thought I was back in Greece! Wonderful food and nice people.

Yum!! My Husband and i really enjoyed the food here. Everything was very fresh and had a very "homemade" taste. We will definately eat here again!! I think this is some of the best, if not the best, Greek food in Austin. Read More On Citysearchkatieshep 8/19/2009

Without a doubt, the BEST home cooked authentic Greek food and all around dinning in Austin. Austin has great food, but without a doubt, El Greco is on the top of the list. Authentic Greek cuisine and atmosphere while the Owner/Chef is preparing your meal. It was nice to actually see the owner/chef preparing your actual meal and with such family tradition. A real family atmosphere and inviting, we are already planing to come back with friends. Of course, I had to try the souvlaki platter... Read More On Citysearchrgrand 2/10/2009
Eat Greek Here Avoid Miltos and come around the corner to El Greco. The service is better and the food is better for a better price. They also have a nice patio and are really clean. Read More On Citysearchpigeonholetom 1/28/2009
Below average I grew up in Greece, and its been a struggle to find good Greek food in the US. I tried El Greco with my family, and was dissapointed. My wife is usually much more forgiving than I, and she also voted not to come again. But that in it self doesn't mean that the place is not worthy for stopping by for lunch, especially if you like the imitation Greek menu many places like this push around where... Best greek food in Central TX We visited the place after reading some reviews online. I am from Germany and spoild in regards to greek Gyros. Upon ordering at the counter I was a little disapointed to not see the rotissery running. However, the Gyros meat was cooked to order and perfectly spiced. The Saganaki (Fried Feta cheese) was delicious as was the humus. I have returned once since and was impressed again. If you like au... Read More On CitysearchAndreas42 12/27/2008
Really good food...really bad service I went in on Saturday to grab 2 "quick" to-go gyros. 23 minutes later I FINALLY walked out of there (I checked my clock with the time on the receipt). I was so frustrated with how insanely long they took when the restaurant was not even near full that I found it extremely difficult to enjoy my overpriced gyros. I really like this place and it has great food - we've eaten there about a half a d... Read More On Citysearchlbgoodpasture 10/14/2008
Dips to Die For! My husband and I love El Greco! We don't know if it's "authentic" Geek food, if that's what you're looking for. We do know the food is excellent (I get the Souvlaki Chicken plate with rice and potatoes, he gets the Gyro). What tops out the perfect entrees is an order of Feta Cheese Dip with warm pita bread- it's awesome! The owner is very hands on and seems to go out of his way to make customers ... Real Greek food by Real Greeks! I have been to Greece and this food is the real deal. They make everything by hand. Really nice flavors and a certain quality to the food. Read More On Citysearchmmenta 7/19/2008
Very Expensive for what it is The food is very nice, high quality, but it is expensive. We felt that the portions were very small for the price. The meat (we had beef and chicken souvlaki) was good quality, but a little too salty. The Greek salad was probably my favorite, very fresh and a nice dressing. The stuffed grape leaves were a little too oily and not as flavorful as the could have been. I think I would have enjoy... Read More On Citysearchcangio 6/27/2008
Delicious, Affordable, Authentic Greek Food I've been to El Greco several times now and the food has always been outstanding ! The eggplant and garlic dip is delicious, the pita bread is fluffy and warm, the chicken soup is delicious and light with a lemon kick, the vegetable sandwich is made on fresh baked bread loaded up with roasted vegetables and a hearty tomato sauce.
But I have to say that my hands down favorite is the chicken gyro... Read More On CitysearchTheSunSation 3/4/2008
