better than lucali's In my opinion this place is better than Lucali's for two reasons: first, though the overall pizza quality is similar (both are to die for), Luna Rossa has a much broader selection of toppings; second, I''ve never had to wait for a table here and the atmosphere is much less rushed (unlike at Lucali's, where hours-long waits are the norm and they really try to get you in and out as quickly as poss... don't walk, run We ate outdoors in the garden, which is urban but still it is outdoors and has atmosphere. The food was great, the house red wine was excellent and the service was very good. The owners are Neopolitan. They have a pizza oven which warms up the restaurant. It would have been too warm to eat indoors. The dessert was real italian, as were many of the patrons. I was surprised the restaurant was... Read More On Citysearchmiriam12 4/26/2009

best authentic Napolitan pizza Luna Rossa is the best new restaurant in our neighborhood in YEARS!! We have a born and bred Italian from Napoli in our family (and a chef at that) so our standards are very high for Italian food and especially pizza. We are amazed at how many places in the city and Brooklyn say that they make authentic artisanal Napolitan pizza and then just serve regular American pizza cooked in a wood burning ... Best pizza in Brooklyn I have tried a lot Pizzerias in Manhattan and Brooklyn after several years I finally found Luna Rossa. I have been visiting the pizzeria since last year. Its still the best ,the pizza is soft, light, and the fresh mozzarella doesn't leak water onto the pizza. They cook it on a wonderful brick oven. The atmposhere is simple, nice, warm and welcoming. i definitely recommend it.

Pizza with a personality! I've become a regular at Luna Rossa ever since I tasted it. I am very picky about my pizza, especially because I am spoiled for growing up in Italy and having tasted the real thing. Luna Rossa's pizza has a light and tasty crust, perfectly cooked in a brick oven and topped with delicious sauce and yummy melted fresh mozzarella. I always order the classic Margherita but my husband (who is from the... Read More On Citysearchcaterossi 12/9/2008
Authentic Italian on Court St, Brooklyn! I got a recommendation about Luna Rossa from a friend of mine saying that I had to go there. I went there with some friends of mine the other night and it was well worth the walk down Court St. Carroll Gardens has a lot of great restaurants, but Luna Rossa is really one of the better places I've been to. The pizza is amazing - exactly like what I had when I was in Italy. I've been to all the famo... Read More On CitysearchZachTirone23 11/14/2008
Pizza di Napoli - the best in NYC ! My wife and I just ate at Luna Rossa last night and it was incredible. The pizza is just like you find in Napoli, in fact it is the best since we have been to the famous Da Michele, for those of you who know true pizza Napoletana. For those who have not been as fortunate yet to have the best pizza in Naples, finally you can now have it at this place in Brooklyn. The pizzaiolo (pizza maker)... Buonissimo!! After living in Naples for several years, aside from the location itself, the thing I've missed the most is the pizza. There some close matches in NYC but Luna Rossa definately has it down to a T. And for a moderate price! Seriously if you are ever in the neighborhood you should check it out. I promise you wont be disapointed. Not in the mood for pizza? The pasta is cooked to perfection, and the... Read More On CitysearchLucsal 10/30/2008
Great authentic pizza I've been to Luna Rossa three times now. I had the margarita pizza and thought it was spectacular. The crust was just crispy enough and the pizza melted in my mouth. ... and believe me i'm a big pizza fan. I've had Grimaldi's and all the other great ones and, and even a pie from Naples. In my humble opinion this is the best most authentic italian pizza around.

Must try I was invited to go have dinner at Luna Rossa and i have to say i am glad i went. I would recommend starting off with the anti-pasta special. It was the perfect appetizer. The pizza was amazing, i was very impressed. You have to try the pignolata for dessert. After all we ate we couldnt quite finish the desert so i took it home and it was still delicious the next day. Really amazing pizza Brooklyn has a few great spots. Lucali's is super popular, Sam's is a pretty damn good pie, and there are other spots all over this area where I live, but I have to say Luna Rossa was probably the best pie I've had. The crust was crunchy on the bottom but soft in the middle and the ingredients were all fresh and simply delicious. I've only been once but will check it out again. It's a poor locati... The Best Neapolitan restaurant outside of Napoli My girlfriend and I where down in Brooklyn about two weeks ago visiting friends. At the end of the day before we where about to leave to go back to Hoboken, we decided to get a bite to eat. I've been all over NYC looking for great pizza like I found in Naples, Italy and I think I finally found it.
