I've been to lots of Indian restaurants in slc and this is by far the best one. Everyone I know that has eaten here agrees. Both the lunch buffet and the dinner are recommended. The staff there are really nice and do their best to make sure you are happy with your dining experience.
I don't know what the last reviewer is talking about. I went here for lunch with my wife and a guest and we loved the buffet. Everything was very tasty and perfectly spiced. The desserts were very nice and the service was outstanding. They even got us a dessert that my wife was craving for free even though it wasn't on the menu. I would highly recommend this place.
Bad service, bad food.. I ordered chicken Tikka for takeout, and when I get home, I found nothing but a tasteless grilled Chicken cubes MIXED with WATERY INDIAN SEASONING SPICES?! What knida chicken Tikka is that? I even poured more salt on it and still tastes like dirty water! With all due respect, I have ordered chicken Tikka in many great Indian/Pakistani restaurants across the country before...
The staff was courteous and attentive. The food and its presentation were superb! My first exposure to Tandoori Indian Grill was so good, I plan to return soon!
SO I tried my first Indian Food in Salt Lake City today I must say....Bravo!
My mango drink was sooooooo goood!!
The Tandori Chicken was amazing!
Bravo Bravo.
We LOVE Indian food and saw The Tandoor Indian Grill while driving along 3300 South. We tried the butter chicken and byriani and bothe were excellent! We will be visiting again and often!
I really liked some of their dosas, even though they didnt have enough filling in them! Good food overall. Although, the service needs a little attention. Definetly try the masala dosa.
i took the husband to the buffett on saturday for lunch. it was his 1st experience with indian food so i thought a buffett would be a good choice so he could try several dishes. he loved it all. the manchurian cauliflower was superb as was the garlic naan which had a lot of chunks of garlic on it. we will be going back often.
Excellent food, excellent service, very courteous!!! We were a group of 40+ from NJ/NY and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. The food compares with the best I have ever had around the world!!! The samosas, various south indian chutneys, medu vada, idli, sambhar were all good as appetizers. The vegetarian (I am a vegetarian) entrees were excellent, with vaghare baingan the best yo...
Elegant atmosphere!
You simply must try the Eggplant with tomatoes!
Plus Shah Sitara will be hosting and evening of Belly Dance Saturday August 30th 2008 at Tandoor!
visit shahravarbellydancedotcom for the exclusive menu and evening details.
Simply the best! I am a vegetarian and like very spicy food. My husband is a confirmed meat-eater who likes a little less kick, and we both love every meal we've had at Tandoor(at least 20!). The service is welcoming and friendly and there is so much to explore on the menu. Favorites are navarathan koorma for me & hyrdabhati lamb for him...make sure to remember the naan bread!
Let me begin with the decor - simple, tasteful - not your typical restaurant redecorating slap-job! The music is tasteful and well-thought and things are simple and delicious. We go there whenever we have something to discuss and want to hear and be heard (rare in a restaurant setting these days). The food is hot and fresh and I heartily recommend Tandoor!
have visited some Indian restaurants in the valley before i visited Tandoor,I highly recomend this restaurant and is indeed the best of them. I have lived in England before, I had my best experiences with Indian restaurants there. I found the similar taste again here at Tandoor. I loved the food and their friendly service. They show lot of patience and answered all my questiionns in very good man...
I've lived in SLC for the past 34 years, but have had the opportunity to travel throughout much of the world, as well. I am endlessly amazed to see superb family restaurants pop up around the valley and then disappear months or, at most, a few short years later. Usually I'll hear about one of theses places from a rational friend or two and venture out to try my luck. I'd say that maybe half the t...
Best Indian food in the valley. Everyday something new at their lunch buffet. Taste is awesome !!!. Higly recomend Indian restaurant. Try teir Hyderabadi Lamb Curry, excellent dish.
The service is slow. The quality of the food is not good. The chicken is not cooked properly. The prices are sky rocketing when compared to other Indian restaurants.
Perfectly spiced dishes and amazing service, this was the best Indian meal I have had in SLC, despite my affection for Royal India and Bombay house...
The food was cold, the garlic naan was regular naan smothered in garlic salt, the palak paneer was horrible and the tandoori chicken was bone dry. The only saving grace was the lamb curry but it just wasn't enough. There are too many good indian restraunts in SLC to ever go back there.
Tandoor is an unexpected treasure. The food is excellent, the best Indian food around (even better than Bombay House!). The staff is so friendly and helpful, you just can't help but want to go back over and over again. Last but not least, the price is right! Around $4 for appetizers and $10 for entrees- plenty of delicious food. I just can't say enough good things about Tandoor. I'm thrille...
I would actually come here every night if I didn't think I'd get "looks." It's just a quaint little restaurant that ever since I discovered is my first choice for Indian food in the whole valley. Order chai for sure and even if you ask for thirty packets of sugar they don't mind. The staff is very accommodating and friendly which is refreshing especially because Indian restaurants aren't exact...
This place has great food. I love their lamb items. They have different and great indian taste than any indian restaurant in this city. Just dont care about the next door store. It is great place for dinner. They have almost 100 different items to make you happy.
I like their pesawari naan. And dont forget the CHAI, it is great.
The food was delicious. The Indian eggplant dish and okra are two of my favorites. The butter chicken is also very good. The service is a bit slow but the food makes up for it. Try the buffet during lunchtime for a variety of unique dishes that you probably wouldn't think about ordering at dinner.
The service was very slow, although they did comp us some sort of appetizer. if you can get past the smell of the nail salon next door the food is fairly good.
