Not sure what this other guy had, but my food at kokeb was amazing. I've had Ethiopian in many different parts of the world, and this was one the best. I love the experience in general, and the staff was very friendly. It's close to capitol hill and central district, so sometimes I bring my co-workers for lunch.. Try it if you have not before
I love this enjera and foods top on it really good. Postive about this resturant is not fill/crowed and nice small table good for couple and family together eat in one plate. I enjoyed it. I'm sure will visit again.
I guess I didn't know what Ethiopian food was, and maybe still don't...anyway, this was terrible. It lacked any kind of flavor, except maybe vinegar, and every dish looked and tasted like canned vegetables in different colored bland sauces. I love trying different ethnic cuisines, but it will be a long time before I try Ethiopian food again if I have to judge from this experience. Ugh. Double...
I went here for my birthday party and had a blast. The food was great and they really made a big deal over my celebration. This really felt like a quality, family run sort of place. I'm definitely going back soon and would recommend it to anyone.
This place is really an experience to have. I love going here and basically learning about their culture through their food and ceremonies. I am a MORE than avid coffee drinker and love to follow meals up with it. There coffee ceremony makes it even more special than throwing back a starbucks latte.
I don't really know what to compare the food to so you will just have to go give it a try....
