We checked out Catch (a restaurant nearby) at Casa Del Mar during dineLA Restaurant Week 2009 and had the 3 course menu. We were greeted nicely and got a seat with a nice view of the beach. Yet, somehow, the service was very very slow. We waited at least 15 minutes to get our drink order in. The mojitos are great- not too sweet, perfect amount of alcohol.

The bar is a lovely place to sit comfortably and watch the sunset. Nice wine and liquor selection and snacks can be ordered from a brief menu. The cafe serves good food in a nice atmosphere. When I ate there on my own, the staff brought me magazines and treated me royally. I was impressed, since usually I'm treated like a pariah if I dine alone (they assume they'll get a lower tip).
