  6. Superb Dining Experience
Went to Benjamin's for Thanksgiving. Opted for regular menu. Had shrimp and crabmeat cocktails which they served to be shared with my companion. She had ceasar salad. I had iceberg wedge with Russian dressing. Even the bread was top notch. Had Porterhouse for 3. My date likes to take home the extra for breakfast and lunch. Peas and onions was the vegetable. Desert was fresh berries which were f...

  7. Perfect Dinner
This was my second time at Benjamins. Its one of the best steakhouses in NY. Service is always excellent and the steaks are cooked to perfection to the way u want. First time I went there I had the Rib-Eye medium and was great second time i had "Steak for two" medium rare and was just perfect. I recommend the german potatoes for the side. They have a great wine list. And is worth every single d...

  8. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
This was one of the better steakhouses I've been to in NY- hands down. We sat on the balcony for my girlfriend's birthday and it was very romantic. We had the porterhouse for two, which was perfectly charred, tender and just enough for both of us. After being told that the fireplace actually works, I can't wait to go back during the holidays! I've already recommended it to a few friends, and wil...

  9. Not So Great
I love trying steakhouses. This one was a bit of a waste of time. The over cooked mid grade tuna came out after the tasteless baked clams. My freind had the steak. Said it was good, but small. The lamb was a bit of a surprise. It was the loin and also tasteless. Priced ok, but the desserts were VERY expensive. Service was good.

  10. Fantastic Service and Great Steak
Came here for a birthday dinner for my boyfriend and my brother. No wait. I was late and they still seated my party before I came in. Steak was DELICIOUS. Atmosphere was casual and friendly. Room was well-lit, which I love after getting a food coma from ingesting so much steak and red wine. Best part was that they remembered my note on the reservation to bring the dessert out with a candle for th...

  11. The whole package !
Last night was my 2nd experience at Benjamin's, and it was even better than I remembered. So much so that I figured I would write a brief review. First off, let me just say that the ever looming question of "what's the best steakhouse in NY" will never be answered unanimously; there are too many variables to consider. That said, I've been to what's considered New York?s top steakhouses and Benjam...

  12. Hands down
Hands down...Benjamin Steak House is the best place for steak in New York City. The cuts are dry-aged and cooked to perfection and the service is impeccable. I felt like Sinatra in the dining room, which was very Old World. Look no further than Benjamin Steak House for fine cuts and finer service.

  13. Superb Steakhouse!
One of my favorite steakhouses for a few reasons: 1. Incredible porterhouse, as good as Wolfgangs/Peter Luger 2. Great wine selection without emphasis on three-digit prices 3. Awesome host - Benjamin himself will often seat you, hang out with you, and he's a really nice guy 4. Much, much quieter than Wolfgang's and cozier setting. I go back again and again.

  14. THE BEST
I'll keep this short. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this place. The Porterhouse, the Room, Wine and Service, just unmatchable. By the way did I tell you that I love it!

  15. Great birthday dinner
My boyfriend took me to Benjamin's for my birthday. We had a reservation at 8pm and were seated promptly. I loved the decor of the place, with lights low and dark leather accented furniture. I ordered a few pre-dinner martinis, which were well made and strong. I had crab cakes to start with and my bf had the lobster bisque. For main course I had the chilean sea bass and my boyfriend a filet migno...

  16. A pleasant surprise
Frankly speaking, before stumbling in Benjamin Steakhouse last Friday night, I had never heard of it before. As a steak lover I was intrigued to go and try it out, specially after finding out that Peter Lugers former chef works there now. To my pleasant surprise the place was excellent. As you cross the long corridor leading you in you suddenly walk into this vast restaurant space with old NY arc...

  17. Everything was excellent
The two bad reviews written on 5/31 - the two "bad" reviews written - i'm really surprised to see two bad reviews for the same place by two different members - which is very surprising to me, especially for the fact that i was dinning at Benjamins the same day - and i remember taking many glances around the dinning room and seeing everyone very satisfied - so i can't believe two different people...

  18. Fabulous Steak, Great Service, Great Ambiance
Steak eaters! If you have discovered Benjamin then you've found your Valhalla!!! Benjamin's is truly the steak eaters paradise. The best porterhouse steak to be found in Manhattan, and it is just as good as Lugers (Brooklyn). Since the first time I've gone to Benjamin?s, I've become addicted, I have not been to another steakhouse since. Truly, there's no need. The place is gorgeous, the wait staf...

  19. This Was Not A Good Experience
Been to all of them in NYC and this one easily ranks at the bottom. Was optomistic from the website but not impressed upon arrival. Start with the steak, as that's most important...bland cut, overcooked, heavily salted. Not the worst steak I've had but certainly nothing special. The rest...Service was horrible, bathrooms are two floors downstairs in the hotel attached, ordered another bottle ...

  20. I can't beleive how bad it was...
As an avid "steakhead" I have to say that I have never before been so utterly disappointed in a steakhouse. Let's start with the food. My steak (ordered medium) was extremely under cooked and bland; to the point where I could not finish it. The sides were completely tasteless. I tried to drown everything in my favorite condiment, horseradish. Even that was flavorless!! I have no idea how they ...

  21. CONSISTENTLY WONDERFUL
If you are looking to have a truly outstanding steakhouse experience then give these Benjamin a shot. I frequent the place with my family for the last 6 months and these guys never cease to amaze me. Besides the porterhouse being absolutely phenomenal, their fish is always very fresh. I also love the fact that the waiters are actually there to take care of you. These guys are incredibly attentive...

  23. Not up to par..
I have eaten at many of the steakhouses across the city and decided to try Benjamin's. At first glance of the menu, it looked extremely familiar, perhaps similar to another steakhouse I have been to. We were a group of four and ordered porterhouse and filet mignon. They were just average and not well cooked. The service was below average and overall the entire night was just not up to par with ot...

  24. Great People
Enjoy the fact that there aren't attitudes thrown at you by the waiters or any others at Benjamin's. But rather very well trained waiters with much respect and no arrogance & stockiness- Even Benjamin himself, who came over to make sure everything was good - is a very friendly guy.

  25. Great Food
The steak at Benjamin's is great-after all the man himself -ARturo -Peter Luger's former chef prepares it. After dinner I wanted to compliment the chef on his excellences and delicious dishes - i was surprised to find how down to earth the guy. He really is nice and down to earth -that caught me off guard- not sure people in his position would be so humbling -they tend to be more arrogant and fu...

  26. Excellent Decor
Looking at Benjamin Steakhouse from the outside, the restaurant looks very plain and small but once you walk in, the place seems absolutely unbelievable. The actual size of the restaurant is huge and the decor is phenomenal. I love the lighting. I asked if I could check out the mezzaine for a party I'm planning-the view from it is incredible -you are looking down at a place with two beautiful ref...

  27. So far THE best steakhouse
I've dined at many restaurants -(steakhouses to be specific) and I have found Benjamin Steakhouse to be above them all. Take into acount the TOP STEAKHOUSES (and we all know to which I am refering to) and by far Benjamin knocks them all out. I am a man that loves any good food-so give me anything delicious and I'm up for it, and it seems I can never get enough of the food at Benjamin's. I've tri...

  28. Best Porterhouse in NYC!
Heard there was a new steak house in midtown boasting the former chef of Peter Lugers. I heard there have been many defectors of the old institution. But what i learned is that they were waiters, butchers and bartenders (at Ben & Jacks, Wolfgangs and Mark Josephs) but Benjamins got the real mccoy - the chef from Lugers who was there 20 years) He obviously knows his cuts in meat! So, I liked t...

  29. Warm and Cozy
The decor and ambience of this place is warm and cozy lending to an overall nice dining experience. The beautifully decorated dining room is quite relaxing with its comfy leather chairs and fireplace. The food, the steak in particular, was nothing to write home about unfortunately. It wasn't that it was bad, it was good, but not great. The mushrooms were over onioned, you couldnt taste the m...

  30. Perfect- The Best Porterhouse in the City
Recently I attended a private party at Benjamin with my colleagues. We decided to give the new Steakhouse a try, and we find ourselves in great service. The service was great- the waiters were very respectful, the place was absolutely amazing, with ceilings so high and a fireplace that is absolutely beautiful. But above all was the food. We decided on ordering the Porterhouse with sides of creame...
