Like the previous reviews, we went to La Hacienda because we saw it on Throwdown with Bobby Flay on the Food Network. We went January 9, 2010. I wanted to go for the Puffy Tacos. We drove there from Houston. The first thing I ordered was a Pina Colada. I tasted no rum at all,and I rarely drink but ordered it to get me in the mood for the anticipated dinner. Then the waiter brought out the nacho c...
Dont know many rest's that you would go to only for their patio, beer and live entertainment and not their food- but this is one. I agree with the other reviewers and don't understand how this place got spotlighted on the food network- have tried their food countless times and always disappointed. It is one of my favorite places to hang out but have learned to eat before I go sit on their patio, ...
After seeing this restarant on the Food Network, my friends and I drove all the way from Austin to try it. The food was cold and very bland. The beans must have been from the can because they were awful. I'm hispanic and when I go to a restaurant that advertises great tex-mex food, that's what I expect. Maybe La Hacienda is fooling others about Tex-Mex food, but you can't fool us. They also had v...
I went last friday night and the girl manager was horrible been there a few times before and had trouble with her the past times I went. I called and complained but that didn't seem to matter. But last friday I had a problem with my server and metioned it to the managers and they did not care. I Will not go back ever again and i will make sure to pass this on to everyone i know!!
We drove from Houston and once in SA remembered the Bobby Flay throwdown. We just had to try the tacos. I had the fajitas, my husband had the cabrito, my sister had green enchiladas and bro in law had tacos de carne quisada. My fajitas were not from the grill. Cabrito was dry and not simmered with salsa. Green enchiladas were too bland, green sauce very runny. Puffy tacos were not great, ve...
The food here isn't bad, but the horrible singer on Tuesday evenings makes it excruciating! His name is George and he can't carry a tune in a paper sack and is so loud you can't hold a conversation at your table. And we weren't even that close to him. Cheesy music, cheesy voice, sounds like Davey Jones with laryngitis. We asked the waiter to ask mgmt to have it turned down a little but that didn'...
This restaurant is extremely overpriced and the food is bland and below average. They charge for every extra item, including 4 dollars for a side of guacamole. Service is also very average. There are much better Mexican restaurants in San Antonio, don't waste your time on this one.
Had dinner here last week and the food was good but there are better mexican restaurants in SA. The margritas were very good. The overall place is very appealing.
Yes, the food is good...the puffy tacos were worth the trip. But the service was overwhelmed, margaritas were pricy, and the food was slow to come out. Don't be intimidated by the crowded parking lot, if you'll take a table indoors, you can be seated pretty fast. great chips and salsa!
We live out 1604 and Potranco, so this is by no means nearby, but it was well worth the drive (even in traffic). I was pretty surprised to find it so crowded on a Wednesday evening; we had to wait 20 minutes for outdoor seating, but I'm so glad we did. The patio is huge and well shaded by really beautiful tall trees. The tables were well spaced, so we didn't feel like we were on top of the peo...
I love La Hacienda! There food is always great, but more than that they have created a charming environment to enjoy it in!
Don't eat here unless you want to risk being robbed. The SAPD reports daily car break-ins at this location (management also confirmed) and this restaurant provides no surveilance or security until later at night. They broke into my car in broad daylight (5:30pm or so) and robbed me blind. Management said the expense was too great to provide security. No enchilada is worth risking your car and con...
