We are sorry to hear this patient had a bad experience. Pregnancy can often be a stressful time for many women. Group B strep is very common and easily treated with antibiotics. Many women have this as part of their normal flora. Presence in the urine just means a heavier colonization with this bacteria. they are the worst!
I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and looking for a new ob/gyn. All the "dr's"and the cnm's I have met are very uncaring. When I first started seeing this group I had group b strep in my urine. Someone from the office called a few days later and told me I had to take an antibiotic. This cnm wouldn't tell me why I would have the strep in my urine or give me any information.
