The waitresses were very friendly. They made sure that we understood how to order since it was our first time there. The food was outstanding, especially their spinach or artichoke dip for appetizer. The chocolate fondue is to die for. I would definitely go back again.
before going to this restaurant, i read a review that warned diners to only go with people they enjoyed spending time with. after a 3 hour dining experience, i am glad that i took that advice. service was friendly and satisfactory. they clearly explained everything that went into fondue, and came quickly when we had problems or questions. food takes a long time to cook though, leaving a lot of lu...
My son LOVES this restaurant and has since it's opening. The food is excellent, especially the fondue (of course) and the Teriyaki steak. But ... it is extremely expensive. They make it seem like ordering a combination dinner (appetizer, entree, dessert for one price) is a good deal but it's not. Order separately!
After reading some of the reviews on this place I can tell its definitely not for everyone, but I have been here multiple times and have ALWAYS received GREAT service and food. A little pricey, but you have to remember you are paying for the experience, don't forget to bring some extra $$ for your server, because they work their butts off!! I would recommend this restaurant for couples because ...
I had a group experience at the Melting Pot, it was myself and 5 other people. The food was good, the experience was nice. The bill was CRAZY! I always expect to pay a lot more when I go to Center City, but, this was a lot more then I expected. It seemed to me the liquor was way over priced. This is a good one time a year type place, nothing I would do on a monthly basis.
My one and only experience at The Melting Pot was a birthday gathering. I assume it was because of our somewhat large (8) party that we, too, got shoved into that corner table like the previous reviewer - I'm assuming it's the same table. Our waitress was very helpful and courteous. The service is what I expected at a more upper-crust establishment, so no complaints there. My complaint mainly...
We got put in the corner of the dining room where we had no interaction with anyone else in the entire restarant and no view of anything that was going on. Honestly the could have put our table in the bathroom and their would have been no difference. The food was absolutely discusting, who wants to eat cheese overpowered with nasty cheap sherry wine, or a ceasar salad that tastes like they pour...
The melting pot is amazing! The prices are a little high, but it is totally worth it. They have four course dinners (for couples) that will cost upwards of 80$, depending on whether or not you order drinks. It great jst to go for dessert too. I'd highly recommend it!
I think this is a great novelty restaurant. The first time you go there is a lot of explaination; but if you ever go again- it makes a lot more sense. The staff is always looking to please and offers you lots of extras if you ask for them. That goes for the dippers during the cheese and dessert!! wahoo. I think anyone who goes there should of course know what type of restaurant it is. You do coo...
It was my first time. it's ok if you don't know what to do. Friendly waitress will explain to you. Food is good. wine selectoin is great. It was fun. I will go back again soon.
Great food, great services. You have to make reservation!!!!
It's not the raw food per se...its the overly perky Applebee's type wait staff, the poor presentation, the plastic jar of Garlic/Wine powder placed at your table, the dipping sauces, and the quality of the food that is the problem.
The place looks nice so thats a bonus, it smelled bad thats not so good. Lets start with the first course. The fondue is mixed by your perky waitress at the tabl...
Hey MizMelissa,
First of all, when you are writing a review...LEARN HOW TO SPELL!!!..
I agree with DestinyChild...That place is horrible and over priced
The Definition of FONDUE is quote:
"food dipped into a container: a dish eaten by dipping small pieces of food into the contents of a container usually melted cheese, hot oil, or a sauce, placed on the table" .....It doesn't say it has to ...
destinychild...wow you sound like the biggest idiot on the planet. It is a FONDU restaurant. Did you really think your food was going to come out cooked. The point of fondu is that you cook it yourself! The meltingpot is awsome. Its fun and they have an amazing wine list. I feel sorry for this location for getting a bad rep all because of the stupidity of someone who obviously has no culture or k...
This was the worst dining experience ever.... We started out with being shown to the bar, while we waited for a table.. the hostess was pretty nice and the staff was friendly. We waited for about 20 minutes, enough to have a couple of Martinis' which surprisingly were pretty good. Well at $10.00 a pop, they should be.
The first entree was a cheddar cheese with a Beer base, which was pretty yuck...
it is what it is here. The fondue was delicious, the "entree" was just so-so. I call it an "entree" because they give you raw meat to cook yourself in a boiling-pot of water/wine/spices.
There is no revolution here. But it was fun. I'd go back, especially if I was in a bigger group. Service was pretty solid.
The wine list is amazingly not over-priced! Huge list (warning: I ordered a b...
