I dined at Mint after reading gr8 reviews here on CitySearch and im glad that i did. I enjoyed a great Restaurant Week menu along with a great service in an extraordinary ambiance. Mint definitely crushes competition with its upbeat and modern looks & great food to go with it.

  7. Don't believe the hype. Expensive and mediocre.
When I read the great reviews about this restaurant I had to wonder if the customer had sampled other Indian restaurants in NYC. If you look at the bad reviews listed here they pretty much summarize my experience. Save you money and go to the good Indian restaurant!

  9. Overrated.
I went there for my wife's bday 2 weeks ago. The service was fine but the food was ok. In my opinion Mint is quite overrated on CitySearch. I am not a fan of the dim, green ambiance, but I would discount this as personal choice. Given the ratings, I guess my expectation were set quite high. An excellent Indian restaurant in the neighborhood would be Bukhara Grill on 49th betn 2nd & 3rd (Reserve ...

  13. DEFF NOT WORTH IT!
I will just sum it up... Mint is not a place to get authentic Indian food. The place is very nice, no doubt about that,BUT the food is horrible. It came out cold and just did not have any taste to it. all the curries tasted the same. It is also way too expensive for what you get. The service is just OK. If you want authentic Indian there are many places near mint.

  16. Authentic Indian Cuisine
Mint was very enjoyable. I made reservations for a Saturday night although it was not crowded upon arrival. I had the chicken and scallops entree with a spicy green sauce infused with mint which was amazing. Also, alot of their food is entertained by the whole theme of "the mint leaf." I definitely had a few mojitos as well which were quite nice. I would suggest this for a l;arge group or a date....

  17. Delicious food!
I love Mint - it is one of my 3 favorite Indian restaurants in the city. The food is delicious - not too bland (I usually get spicy), and not too heavy. I highly recommend this place for fine dining. It is a bit pricey, and the ambience is good but a bit dark. I wish it was closer to my place so that I could get frequent delivery.

  19. Among the top 3 Indian restaurants in the city
I've been to Mint often and continue going there. I am from India and went there recently with my family, and we all unanimously agreed it was the best Indian food in the city currently. I say currently as the consistency of Indian restaurants in the city varies considerably. Try the lamb chops here, they really are to die for.

  20. service not as good as i thought it would be.
The food was nothing special that it would've been and I think that the food had to do with the mint flavor. the kids wouldnt enjoy that much of the mint flavor in the drinks and food. The service was okay and it took me a while to get seated. By the way next time only have indian spices and foods on the menu because the american food didnt blend in with the indian culture.

On my recent trip to NY, I stayed at W Hotel. The concierge recommended Mint and made reservations for me. It was my first experience of Indian food. Not only did we love the food but the ambience is fantastic.....In all we had a great e...

  74. Wonderful Lunch
My husband and I along with another couple had lunch here recently. We started out with the Mint Chicken Kabab. It was fabulous. For entrees, we shared the Lamb Malabaar and the Tandoori Wild Salmon which were extraordinary as well. Our server was pleasant and attentive. All over it was a pleasant experience and for a fair price. If I'm back in Manhattan, I would like to try it for brunch.

  76. vert ggod customer service
I have been here many times with important business guests. The food and service was excellent. I specially liked Malai Chicken and Lamb Seekh Kaabab. The atmosphere was cosy and different. I have been to many other Indian Restaurents but the quality and presentation was totally differnt and excellent. The only problem is to go with reservation as once I had to wait for 35 minutes. 77. Absolutely FABULOUS
Found this place on CitySearch. I hosted a group of friends here, first time visit for all of us to MINT. People, it was AMAZING. A lovely interior, attentive wait staff. Authentic Indian food served with flair. The food was delicious. Actually, it was one of the best I've tried in years. This sentiment was also shared with all the members of my party, some from India itself! The portions...

The best nite out that could have happened to me and my girl friend was here at MINT.. I had no reservations cause of which i had to wait for about 15 mins.. but was well worth it... The food was extra ordinary, different that those other wierd Indian restaraunts i have been to, specially cause of the fact that my girl friend is Indian. I was amazed by the wine list they had. 79. Fun atmosphere and delicious food!
Had a wonderful Friday night dinner here with a group of five. After a short wait at the bar (which was very crowded), we were seated at a private table. The waiter was friendly, funny, and helpful. The food was perfect, and the side dishes were wonderful. It was fair priced, but and well worth it for a nice night out. I will definitely return!

  80. WHAT A PITY!
We went there for dinner on a saturday night and to my suprise the place was totally empty. After reading all these reviews on citysearch, we thought it would have been packed. But maybe they were having a slow night, it began with such delay in getting the menu's, it just didnt feel like anybody really cared about us over there, which was actually very shockiing, they should've been very atten...

  81. Good deal for a good meal
While this restaurant has been much advertised with fanfare, I decided to check it out for real along with a client of mine. We were promptly seated, service was good, staff was friendly and food was excellent. They do have the courtesy to ask you how hot or spicy you want your meal to be, which helps as I'm not too familiar with Indian cuisine. Really no complaints on this one, though Im surpris...

  82. The ambiance, food and service were all great
My girlfriend dragged me here last Saturday for our "date night." It was very busy when we got there but the host had us sat after a 10 minute wait. We ordered a mojito and a mango martini and they were delicious. For appetizers we ordered Chicken Samosas and Lasooni Gobi and for main course we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Pasanda and Saag Paneer they were all just scrumptious. The place w...

  83. Worst service I have ever seen
Never had such terrible service in Manhattan. We waited half an hour just to get menus, and watched another table of 10 people leave because they had been ignored by the (single) waiter. We got appetizers after 50 minutes. They forgot my drink order. Our table got our entrees after an hour and forty minutes, and they forgot my order. The waiter didn't even bother to come over and apologize. Flee ...

  84. fantastic food, ambience, service (rare for Indian restaurants)
This is such a gem amongst Indian Restaurants with great decor, ambience much like the W Hotel in Times Sq or a upscale South Beach establishment. The service was prompt a very unusual trait for Indian restaurants, the menu was extensive and the food was also great since i have been to every indian Restaurant from London, NYC, L.A and San Francisco. I would recomend this to anyone who a...

  85. Yes, this is the one !!!
Last night, I treated my parents to dinner at Mint for their anniversary. My mom, who loves Indian cuisine, said that the entres at Mint were probably the best she had tasted. No doubt, the tandoor lamb chops grilled to perfection were the best we had ever tasted. Service was prompt, had to wait a few minutes to be seated as the place was busy. The waiter was very friendly and helpful in providin...

  86. A Review You Can Actually Trust
Listen up. I've been to all the best Indian restaurants on both coasts, London and of course India. I've also been to a few hole in the wall joints that were quite good too. So I do not say the following lightly, I think Mint is highly over-rated. The poultry and seafood were not very fresh and were paired with your typical uninspired/bland sauces. Prices are on the high side, service was ok. On...

  88. Incredible!!
I have traveled extensively across the US and tried many upscale Indian restaurants as well as small family diners. Until recently, I thought that the best Indian food I had was up in Vancouver, but Mint quickly proved that notion wrong. I tried some of the appetizers. The food was incredible! You could taste the fresh ingredients used in each dish, as well as the spice level was perfect. Althoug...

  89. Must try for the Indian cuisine lover
I have tried many Indian Restaurants, but this one stands out. Very distinct flavor and very distinct recipes than usually found for Indian cuisines. We tried the Lamb Nilgiri and Saffron Shrimp, and must say I would go back any day. Prices comparitive to what you expect to find in Manhattan, but you get what you pay for. Well stocked bar too, but we didn't try that. Ambience is what the restaura...

  92. Go for the ambience not the food
You could get the same food for $6-10 a dish in so many other places. At this place you are paying for the ambience, not the quality of the food. Having said that the layout and design of the place is really not all that special.
