I have yet to check this place out while in action but I just learned there's going to be a HUGE fundraiser for an organization called Stockings With Care there with Celebrities from NY TV, Film & Broadway tending the bar!! It's Wednesday Nov 11th from 7-11pm and only 20 bucks to enter. And for a good cause, it seems.
Should be fun. I'll let you guys know what I think!
I booked a Advertising industry networking event at STITCH last month and all the staff were very helpful in the planning and running of my event for. They gave me the party room upstairs with no rental or minimums and the food and drink was spot on ! Thanks STITCH see you soon.
My fianc? Jen threw an after work surprise B-Day party for me last week at Stitch, thank you Stitch (Nick, Lucia & Cheronda) for a great time. The choice was spot on, great space & vibe for mid-town?..the wings are the real deal, upstate style, please don?t change the way they?re done. We?ll see you soon. Cheers, A.R
Nick organized my birthday happy hour over email - very helpful answering my questions and no fuss. I told him I had at least 20 people coming and he reserved this huge table for me upstairs (no charge and no bottles to buy). All my friends had no problems getting in and we had the table all night.
Living in NY for 4 years I've always had issues with places - either cover charges, getting in,...
Recently held an informal reunion of some work friends at Stitch. Management and staff could'nt be more helpful. Great atmosphere, service, drinks and food. I'm looking forward to future visits.
I was at Stitch Dec 20 for a friend's birthday. We had a table reserved for 8pm and it was ready when we arrived. Our party ordered many appetizers and every person ordered a sandwich and multiple drinks. The food was okay, nothing to write home about, but not bad by any means. However, our waitress was not equipped to deal with a nine person table. She very rarely asked us if we wanted drinks, m...
Listen, friends, if you want to throw a nice party on a budget, I strongly suggest STITCH! I moved to NYC from LA just before my husband's 30th birthday on October 15th. For weeks I researched venues in this city, and most of them, though beautiful, have a rental fee or require that you spend a certain amount in food and beverage, etc. All I wanted was a cool, private area to bring together close...
Can a bar be sophisticated and cozy at the same time? Stitch pulls off this seeming contradiction with ease. My professional group of science writers recently held an informal event there, and everyone present raved about the food, the service, the staff, and the atmosphere. We took over the semi-private balcony area, where we were treated like special guests by the friendly wait-staff and our gr...
Planned a friend's birthday there and the staff couldn't have been any nicer! Such a pleasure to go out when the bar and its staff actually appreciate your business!! The music, food and drinks are great!
We held an opening night party late on a Friday. The manager was very helpful making arrangements for the party, and we had a lovely time. The staff was very kind & helpful. It was a pleasure.
I had a party there on June 21st. My friends and I had a great time! The place is great...we were seated in the balcony in our own little section with tables. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. The music was also really good! Nick, the planner, was very helpful regarding my questions and concerns. Also, location is a plus (near penn station)! I will definitely be coming back!
I went there tonight (June 28th) a saturday, my actual birthday. I made reservations about 1 and a half weeks in advance for a party of 10. I arrive at Stitch by 9:30 and there's maybe 30 people there. I read a review that suggested to try for the balcony seatings but when I asked for tables up on the balcony, they said it was closed off because there was only 1 waitress that night. I understand ...
We recently held a happy hour event at Stitch for our local area alumni. Nick was great to work with and reserved the spacious balcony for us. The alumni had an awesome time and our waitress Cheronda was very attentive. I would highly recommend this place for people looking to host staff parties, alumni events or any other large (~50) group event.
The fantastic staff of Stitch Bar and Lounge helped me pull off the most amazing private party. My organization is a new nonprofit start up with a VERY tight budget but Stitch was more than happy to work out a deal with me that was a win-win for all involved. We brought in business, our guests got a great deal on food and beverage, and my organization didn't have to spend money on entertainment...
The bar is in such a good location relative to my work it's a shame I won't be going back. I tried a second draft beer different from my first because my first was warm. I handed the bartender back the full draft and asked for a bottle because it was warm. She said the kegs were in the fridge and refused to give me a bottle and when I said I didn't want the beer, she poured it out and charged ...
Went there afterwork for a few drinks and light eating. By the way, you'll have to scream if you intend on having any sort of conversation.
Also, waitress totally screwed up my drink. Instead of immediately getting me what I had ordered, she proceeds to clear the table next to me, chat it up w/ her other customers, and basically got back to me on her own time...ugh
Great join, great music, good crowd, drinks are great, beer is cold! There's nothing not to like. Grab a table, have a party, eat some food, they have and can do anything for you.
I recently organized a gathering for my husband and a few other friends who were celebrating birthdays. Nick, the manager or owner, was very gracious and a pleasure to deal with. I called about a week or two in advance and he reserved a spacious area in the mezzanine level/balcony bar for us. It had cozy couches and tables where 20 or 30 of us could comfortably sit and enjoy appetizers and cockt...
Stich is great! I always feel welcome there, and the two bartenders who usually work the bar- they look like sisters- are very precise and hard-working. Since the bar is located in the Garment District, it's very smart of the management to hire bartenders who look like models and not like some Wisconsin cowgirls!
I can see why some female customers give the bar staff a hard time. Like the lady...
The bar and atmosphere itself is great but the bartenders not so much. When has it become customary for a bartender to help themselves to a tip?? Two women, who looked very much alike, were working the bar and presumed (wrongly I might add because we were still there ordering drinks) our money on the bar was a tip. We were about to add more money to pay for our newly ordered drinks when we not...
Stitch rocks... its a fun venue, big and wide open. the staff is friendly and there is no attitude which is found at most other venues of this size and hipness. Ask for Nick, he is the head of promotions and manager there. He is the man!
enjoy it after a night out at the garden. After all U2 did after there concert there a year or so ago. Bono was smashed!
:-)
Great service, good atmosphere and good DJ. I had a great time last week and look forward to booking another party next time I'm in town.
My childhood friend decided to celebrate her bday this past weekend at Stitch. We were offered the 2 hour open bar for 30 bucks....but just as we finished having our last drinks to wrap up the Open bar....they kicked us out! They were closing the bar at 1:30 AM!!!!!!!!!
Who closes that early in NYC???? Needless to say we were forced (about 20 people) to go to another bar!
This place is wwwwaa...
My sister and I have been celebrating our birthdays together for the past two years. This year we were looking to stay away from the club scene and were focusing more on low cost and great atmosphere. And thats when we found STITCH. From the minute I contacted them for more information I got the quickest response. Nick Cohen was such a delight and helped me the whole way through being that I am ...
I've had cases in bars where wrong drinks are added to your tab. A pain, but easily fixed when settling. However, this was the first time that I've ever had a bar give my credit card to someone else when they left. That's what happened to me at Stich. And the best part is that I knew something was up when the bartenders didn't have much going on and they took 10 mins to show up with my tab. They ...
i loved this place. for those S*x and The City fans, the darkness of the decor and the lighting reminds me of Steve's bar "Scout".. LOL.
The waitress was super friendly, accomodating... The drinks were great, I had the "Ruby Red Cosmo" YUM!
The food was tasty--I ordered the Chicken Rolled Quesadillas (I could have ordered another one)..
Very clearn, not too loud, close to Penn Station....
...
I had my gf's birthday there about 3 months back and meant to write this review a while back. This is a great place to have a party, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially the bartenders and the bouncers. They placed us upstairs instead of reserved downstairs when the party ended up being instead of reserved 20 people about 35. The open bar was great. I do sincerely apologi...
This is a good place to throw a party and come for happy hour. The location is great if you are looking to pre or post game for a MSG event. Beautiful decor and accommodating staff.
So I searched high and low for the perfect place for my going away party and, after reading all the reviews, took a chance on this place. It's definitely nerve racking to have a party somewhere you've never been, but I definitely chose right! Nick was great with helping me set everything up: no cover, top shelf open bar for 2 hours (only $30), reserved table, the works. When we got there later...
For the second year in a row I hosted my party at Stitch and it was amazing. I had about 50-60 guests and we reserved the private upstairs balcony bar for the party. The open bar deal is one of the best around, especially when you have your party upstairs on the Balcony because the bar upstairs is private for your guests and you NEVER have to wait for a drink. Nick, the owner, is a pleasure to...
I've used Stitch to host three large (250pp++) events. The management and staff was wonderful throughout the process and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
I just celebrated by birthday at Stitch. It was a great experience. It was my first time there, but I can assure you that I will return. I was with ~20-25 of my friends and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The facilities are nice and the DJ was great (a mix of 80s, 90s and current top 40 hits). If you're interested in planning a party, contact the facility. Provided you call in advance,...
Stitch is great midtown bar. They've got the formula: great drinks, great food, great music, great service. It's always a good time and they make the best Bloody Mary's! Can't wait to go back
I had an amazing night at STITCH. I found it here on CitySearch and reserved a space for about 40 people for my birthday. This space I reserve (without paying a fee) was by the DJ booth: looking over the main bar, very private, with its own bathroom and bar. The staff (particularly Kevin, Nick, Belinda, Maria, and Kat) were incredibly friendly, informative, accessible and consistent. Planning for...
I was meeting up with some old friends on Friday and wanted somewhere central in the city to meet. We ended up at stitch (which had been recommended to me). It was perfect!! The atmosphere was fun and upbeat. We had some apps and drinks and what really stuck with me was what great service we received. I highly recommend going.
I have been to stitch a few times and have been very happy with the place. The atmosphere is friendly, fun, and engaging. The place is spacious and the bi-level design makes for a way for people to spead out without making things appear sparse. The upstairs level offers a good view of the people below and the huge TVs behind the bar, which are usually broadcasting games of interest. Usually the p...
Stitch bar is run by really nice guys who maintain a snappy establishment with great service. A welcome place to hang out in a neighborhood that lacks any inviting bars. I love its friendly feeling, even though it is an enormous place that really attracks a lively crowd.
I never welcomed the world of the online reviews, but curiosity got the best of me. I logged on to check out my local watering hole, Stitch Bar. The first review I see, the review (the below this one), my suspicions were validated. People have problems and they choose to displace these problems on people in the service industry. I have enjoyed Stitch 2 to 3 times a week for a year now, and ha...
I was at Stitch for a birthday get together after work. More or less everyone was having a decent time until one of the bouncers started picking fights with people for silly reasons, even being very vulgar and nasty to one of the nicest girls I know for no reason at all. The happy hour is pretty lame as well, $5 bottles of bud? Whats the point of even advertising a happy hour?
Having spent the last 7 years in the garment center, never had i felt compelled to stay within the area for more than 30 seconds after work. Thank you for giving me a place to hang my hat, relax and call home before my communte.
My girlfriend and I recently hosted our joint 29th birthday party at Stitch on a recent Saturday night. Our group was about 35 people and we got nothing but glowing reviews from our guests. The place is spacious and comfortable and we were given a roped-off area on the mezzanine overlooking the whole bar. The atmosphere is cozy, despite the large space. Candlelight abounds and the garment distric...
Watered-down drinks, lousy food, awful music, indifferent service, there you have it. What they've got: Location, location, location. You're better off going to Penn Station for Happy Hour.
This is how a midtown bar should be. Went on a Wednesday night and had a blast. Great crowd, music, food and drink. Defiantly my new midtown haunt.
I dont see how this place got people talking. I went here with my boyfriend on a friday and it was a cemetary. The music was bad. The staff hardly noticed you and the bathroom could use a scub! Not a good look for my first time especially on friday.
So its a cool scene, hidden but worth the peek down the street. A litle on the trendy side but the service was great and the bartender was very friendly. Even the bouncer was nice! Didnt get that edgy NYC attitude at all.
Awesome location between PAuthority, GCT and Penn stations to meet up for cocktails before heading out to the burbs!
Just on vacation from Miami Beach and was passing through the garment district, happened to stumble upon STITCH. What an awesome place. Beautiful art on the walls, amazing food and all in all a great place for friends. Move over Cheers, this is the New York bar that "everybody knows your name!" Don't forget to take car of the amazing bartenders!
Stitch is my friendly neighborhood bar and the people who own it, Nick, Kevin and Dave are sum of the nicest guys we know! I've had many a good time there. Come hang out relax and just let yuor hair down. Stitch is AWESOME!!!!
This place is the friendliest, trendiest, hippest spot in the Garment District.....if you want some great drinks, excellent food, friendly staff....you have to head down to this spot.
Cherry on top....Nick Cohen such a great guy!!!!! so friendly such a darling.
dont forget to try the spinach and artichoke dip
The lady who wrote was "No events here" eventgal13 is incorrect. I'm truly sorry she was not happy with her event at STITCH. As you can see from EVERY other review that we are extremely user friendly. She was unwilling to give any commitment to her own event and last year we hosted it and it was a DISASTER, with NO GUESTS and we made a loss on the event. She had ample room for her event and agai...
This place may get crowded and be good for a happy hour, but extremely disappointing for events. We met with the event person, Nick Cohen, more than two months before ours and were assured everything would be great. We show up the night of the event and get a MUCH smaller space than we were promised. Most importatnly, Nick outright lied to us that he attempted to contact us about the event and...
Stopped in for an after work "drink" with the girls to have a true gab session, and we ended up spending the whole evening at this fantastic spot! Great service, very attentive waitstaff - - which is increasingly rare in this city..., fabulous food - at a reasonable price, also a rarity..., and - - - the clincher, $5 cosmos and apple martinis until 8pm!!! And these drinks are LOADED with alcoho...
This is a pleasant, mid-town location which is an easy walk from most of the subways and bus terminals. (Leave your car at home as you will be staying a while!) The wait staff are very friendly and do their utmost to make each patron have the best bar experience possible. Do not miss the Spinach Dip, still haven't found one that compares! Great music - live as well, mingling, and a let loose sce...
Went there with a co-worker last night. Only picked it because of close proximity to Penn Station, but it ended up a great place. I would definitely go there again. Enjoyed the strong $5 appletinis and the food was absolutely great.
stumbled upon the venue and loved it.good vibes and a great juke box.a diamond in the rough, will be back soon.
Reluctant at first to visit a bar in the middle of nowhere. Was very surprised by Stitch. The place is huge, the decor was turn of the Century (That's 19th Century). A Casual place to gather with friends in the middle of Midtown Manhattan. Thank you to my servers who were excellent. See you for my company's Holiday party. (maybe even before !)
This place is absolutely awesome... Was there just this past Friday night... The music was awesome, any song in any genre... the staff was great, just kept the drinks coming... And the location couldnt be better to meet up with everyone, since its only a few blocks away from Times Square. Not stuffy, and uptight, just a downright awesome time for everyone... Perfect for a small group, or a larg...
I had my birthday party at Stitch recently- it was a good place to gather a group of friends for a casual night out. However, though the website makes it look like a no frills place, they forced everyone in my party to check their coats, and the bouncer started swearing at a friend of mine who was taking his time to get to the coat check. If he had asked nicely, I probably wouldn't be writing t...
Been looking for a place in midtown forever, and when I stumbled upon Stitch, I couldnt believe it... From the expansive appearance of the place, to the attentive staff, to the killer DJ who can play any song of any genre you're looking for, it was just awesome. The location couldnt be any more convenient. And the crowd is a mix, which makes for a great time... Drinks are reasonable, and the sta...
Found this new spot through you guys at Citysearch. Thank you.
I work for a very well known clothing line just around the corner.
The whole office after work crew are SO HAPPY that stitch has opened.
We now have a local place of our own to meet and and gossip about work !
Food is good, staff are better, vibe is the best of all.
No drama, no attitude, no problem. Thanks you guys at Stitch.

I booked my company's office party and i was amazed at he great help in arranging my party and the service on the day of our event. My fellow employees had a fantastic time and we are already looking to arrange another one at stitch soon. The staff were really fantastic and friendly. Prices were very reasonable and the music was SPOT ON !!!
Thanks stitch, see you very soon.
I have been coming in and out of Penn Station every day for years. Love a drink after work but always cursed the lack of decent watering holes in and around that area. Thankfully Stitch has filled that gap. Good big space, good music, lighting & some very attractive staff...... I had the Pizza the other day and it was really good.
I hosted an event for Cornell alumni last week, so I had to do some preplanning. Nick couldn't have been more helpful and careful, making sure he had the right numbers and times. The people workng at Stitch were just as great: everyone was smiling, in great sprits, willing to help out, giving us extra tables when we needed, and making sure none of us were thirsty or hungry. The space is big an...
Finally, we have somewhere nice to hang out after work. It's such a great space, we needed it badly. Thank you stitch owners, keep up the good work. You'll be seeing me and my friends there all the time. Staff were great.
They ran out of martini glasses and served my group in small wine glasses. My glass contained about 1" of liquid and it was luke-warm. Why bother with a happy hour if you're only going to offer $1 off mixed drinks. Overpriced and lousy service, we waited 30 minutes for the bill and the music was too loud to hold a conversation. I liked the decor, but it wasn't enough for me to return.
This place is probably great during the week after work, but not the weekend. The place is huge, the music was good, but the bouncers are totally in your face and the service is not good. I had a planned a pre-wedding party there with 50 friends and the experience was horrible. Not only did the over-protective bouncers kick a friend of mine out, but they had no idea we were coming and were quite ...
Showed up for a few cocktails with friends after work, place was cranking...at 5:30?!? Great service, fun crowd, incredible space, this close to Penn Station. Only complaint was the older (40-50's) dudes perched at the bar oogling the ladies. C'mon guys, enough!!!
Could it be? The garment center is truly Manhattan's next hot spot, and this place is blazing the trail!! Who knew then tuna in Midtown was this good, and the food is great too! Great after work spot, and don't be surprised when you loose track of time and stay until the action kicks off later on. Unique menu and tons of space provide a welcoming environment for the after work cocktail or pre/p...
Got to this new spot the other night...... it's about time someone decided to put in a great spot in that neighborhood. Tunes were great, space is off the hook, plasma screens perfect for pre game knicks show, and perfect distance for pre garden venue. Upstairs had a great lounge feel to it for drinks/apps. Definitely heading back to Stitch soon.
Stopped in to see the space. Looks great. No doubt it will become a great after work event space in the hot west 30's. Go stitch !
