I booked a happy hour for a coworker's going away party and had a great time. The VIP room was already booked but the party planner was super helpful and made sure we got everything we needed. I went for a few drinks with a friend on a Friday night and I guess my expectations of Red Sky were a bit higher than when I got there. I have read in the past all good things about the place but when you first walk in on a Friday night it seemed as if people were still there from Happy Hour. People were pushing and shoving almost all night. Quite a dissapointment from all the hype.

Look, if you like to smoke while you drink, and summer is here - Red Sky. Big deck upstairs, nice enough crowd comes in during the week (Wed/Thursday) - Much better than wintertime, when no one goes. Great place for private parties
I had a surprise 30th birthday party for my wife and was very happy I chose Red Sky for it. The event staff was extremely accommodating and took care of everything we needed. When 10 party's are on your roof its not comfortable or PRIVATE anymore. You should tell your guests that they can not have the roof private and the space will be shared.. 25 people can not fit around one table. the party planner assured me it would be comfortable it was NOT!! Great Bar
I read about this place in the Zagat guide and decided to check it out. The bar was really cool and it was packed! I was surprised when I went to the lounge and found a very different, relaxed atmosphere. What's even better is that their roof deck was still open with heat lamps so we could drink and smoke in comfort during the middle of December! Great place.

Great Spot
I met some friends for Happy Hour on a Wednesday. The roof is awesome, and the second floor had a DJ spinning great music. You can't beat $3 draft beers and hot bartenders serving them up. I'll definitely go back- I hear that the weekends are even better.

Worst Staff in NYC
The place itself was ok (in that the outside part didn't smell), but the bar was mostly meathead guys with few to any girls (let alone cute ones). The staff was horrible, in particular the bouncers who seem like they are on a power trip since this is the only place they most likely have any power. I read some of the reviews on this place and didnt know what to expect when we arrived there but when we finally got there, we had a blast. What's the difference been God and the Red Sky bouncer? God doesn't think he's the red Sky bouncer. Tons of fun

I LOVED this place. Went there with a few of my friends on a Saturday night and had a blast. Relaxed bar atmosphere downstairs, hip lounge upstairs. I've been there a few times and it has been a fun experience every time. The staff were very friendly and it had a good crowd. The first floor was more of a bar scene while the second floor had a club/lounge atmosphere which was cool. Also cool fish tanks on the second level. Great time by all.
