so for years i have heard about C&O and how great it is - mostly the garlic bread knots is what people talk about. so finally i was on this side of town and actually craving italian food, risotto specifically, so we ended up going to C&O. when i waitress came to greet us of course she talked about the garlic bread knots and how amazing they are and how they are constantly coming around to the t...
This is a great Italian restaurant with huge portions and good prices. The garlic rolls are fabulous and well known by Los Angeles people. The cucina is usually less busy than the trattoria so it is easier to be seated. It also is a little quieter so maybe better for dates.
Come for the bread rolls, eat a couple dozen, then order a meal to share, because you will never, ever, finish. The food is good, and quite plentiful and you'll eat for days on a full sized order.
This is one of the best italian restaurants I've ever been to. The servings are family sized and you better be ready to eat if you plan on having dinner here. The price is very reasonable and the drinks are also very well prepared. There is a lounge in the back with a couple of televisions along with a fully stocked bar, it's actually called the Rat Pack lounge so if you're a Frank Sinatra, Sammy...
This place rocks! it's the best italian food in the area, and with great ambience, especially the patio dining. I'll highly recommend it! Read my entire review at my blog.
You should definitely visit this place!
Always much to enjoy. Service is always good. The garlic bread is a must-try, but don't let it spoil your appetite.
Just like Trattoria down the street, C&O Cucina has the same killer garlic rolls they are famous for. We started with the oh so delicious calamari and a couple of pleasantly suprising strong cocktails. My wife had an excellent Alaskan Salmon and I enjoyed the Cajun Rib Eye. Great spot for dinner as a couple or a group.
The food is decent/average Italian, but I go back anyway because of the nice outdoor seating, the goofy waiters who sing, and the amazing garlic rolls that are just addictive.
Smaller than its sister restaurant further down the street, C&O Cucina is a cozy place but still can get quite crowded. Ask to sit at the bar when the dining room is packed. The bread rolls are just as good as the Trattoria. The staff is very friendly but the entrees are just decent. I mainly come for the rolls though.
The first time I dined at C & O Cucina, I sat in the main dining area of the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. Overall the food was excellent, and so were the prices considering the portions. The server was friendly but not over attentive... however the atmosphere seemed more targeted towards families and children. When I went back the second time with some friends from work, we sat in the...
We didn't know there were two C&O restaurants. That Tratoria is, apparently, further west down Washington (and solely patio seating?). The Cucina, however, is more restaurant-like in that you are inside, etc. We opted for the Cucina and weren't disappointed. We were seated right away (about 6:45pm on a Friday night). We have a two-year-old who enjoyed drawing on the paper place mats with the...
I was expecting a lot from C & O since it received a 9.2 rating under the cheap eats category. I personally do not think it should be categorized as a cheap eats, but the portion of the food is much more compared to other restaurant. The free garlic rolls were not that great. They should have made it softer, the rolls were quite hard. It could be me, but I prefer my bread soft. My friends seem to...
So, its better looking...not as busy...friendly servers. Thats Amore! The trattoria has its place as a gathering spot for some random friends birthday, but the Cucina is a place you and a friend can go for dinner. My favorite part was the bar/ lounge- attractive, great bartender, and the best happy hour. Great food for cheap and GOOD drinks too- try it from 4-7pm. I love to avoid traffic the...
Some reviewers say this place is romantic... sure, if your idea of romantic is not being able to have a conversation with your date because the ambient noise is like being at a pro football game.
The food was just as disappointing -- the portions are big, but so what when the sauces are bland.
My friend and I came across this very hip "rat pack" tribute bar attached to C/O. You
can have your food served in there, too! GREAT martinis and awesome decor!! A must stop by if you're on Washington Blvd and wanna grab a tini and nosh on some garlic rolls.
Cute and trendy little hang out bar!!!!!! Bar scene great for dates and ladies/guys night out!
I love the Original C&O, but when I'm feeling lazy and not wanting to deal with the parking down at the Original, I lose my mind and go to the Cucina instead. I am always disappointed. Today I was treated to a salad that must have been waiting under a very hot heat lamp for quite some time. This C&O is notorious for double or triple frying their garlic rolls instead of making fresh ones if you...
After MUCH hype, I decided to visit. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in the actual taste of the food. If you go for big meals come here & if you want bland tasting sauce... come here.
The garlic bread was amazing, but it's all downhill from there. Once seated, we waited for 90 minutes to FINALLY get our food, which was very mediocre. We had a large group and one of our members didn't receive their food when everyone else's came. After 15 minutes without the waitstaff even returning to see how everything was, we went to find the manager who said it had been cooked wrong. Wh...
It's L.A., traffic is horrible or maybe I was just fashionably late, anyhow we came here for my birthday and our whole party did not arrive until 45 mins after the time our reservation was set for. You would think that they'd be mad or that they would have given out table away, but they hadn't. They were great! The energy, the food, it was all perfect. To top it off, the chocolate cake was del...
This place rocks, it's brand new and just like the one down the street it's a lot of food...
We ended up drinking a whole bottle of wine, getting some after dinner martinis at the bar, than we all sang along to a Dean Martin song, it was lots of fun.
