  4. LOVE the late night Dining Option
Best thing about this place is that they deliver and are open late on a daily basis!! I've done both and have no complaints. I didn't know until I read on here that they delivered beer and wine late as well, and if you really want cigarettes too. Greatness! Their pasta dishes are my favorite as well as the smoked bbq. If you go on the weekends I must tell you it gets really busy. I love ...

  7. Great Affordable Restaurant
I am a huge fan of The Fireside Restaurant. Parking and seating at the restaurant are good and I LOVE the Blackened Cajan Chicken pasta. Prices are also very reasonable.

  8. Great seafood!!!!!!!!!
My first visit to the Fireside was about a month ago. I similar to the previous gentlemen also got the catfish, which I found to be extraordinary!!!!!! I also found that it did not come with tartar sauce, but after a few bites I came to realize that it really did not call for it. The catfish was tender, juicy and just rightly seasoned. As for the the staff, the waiters are incredible and even...

  9. A big disappointment
I had heard good things about this place had even seen a local commercial. The sevice was ok, the waitstaff that is...I ordered the catfish (over seassoned). When I got the bill they had charged me .75 cents for tartar sauce. I asked my waiter about this charge and was told that this was a automatic charge, I asked to see the manager. When the manager came over he told me there was nothing he cou...

  10. Nice place. Bad chicken.
I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. In the darkness of the patio, it looked okay. I wasn't sure, but thought it may be a little off. Indeed it was undercooked (still pink in the middle). I knew it for sure after one bite. The texture was off and the inside was barely warm. I removed the bite I had taken from my mouth and returned it to the plate. When the server returned to our table about fi...

  11. Love it.
I have always gone here for brunch and I just love it. They have a great bloody mary bar, the food is delicious, and service is great. The restaurant is huge so I have never had to wait for a table. Warm decor. Nice place.

  12. Nice atmosphere and service, got sick
Heard many a good thing about The Fireside. Overall the service was really nice, nice feel with the fireplace in the dinning area and the bar looked like it would be fun. My wife, mother in law and I all shared a common appitizer and were sick for a few days. A bummer considering the staff and athmosphere. Similar experience was had by a co-worker.

  13. Awful service and poor food.
Okay, so the food can be good if you don't have to wait 45 minutes for it. I also feel that the Bloody Marys would be good too, if made properly. Overall, I found that the lousy service and the food was forgotten for too long, causing it to lack flavor and deliciousness.

  14. Nice patio buy lousy food
Nice atmosphere (except for the fact that there's still smoking). Mediocre food. Stale bread, boring salad. All very uninspired.

  16. A great place to eat and/or drink
This place is a regular of mine for many reasons. The make the best Tanqueray Martini I've ever had, and when I ask for extra olives (always), I'm sometimes brought a whole bowl! There are 3 sections to this restaurant-an indoor dining area with working fireplace, a bar wich allows cigar smoking and has a jukebox, and the famous oudoor patio, open all year (heated in the winter). Thier food isn...

  17. Great patio environment
This is one of my neighborhood favorites. Fireside is worth visiting at least for a cocktail. If you are going to eat at the Fireside definitely request to be seated in their patio area, which is used all year round through coverings and heaters. It feels like you are eating on a giant deck in summer even if it's January! The food is sometimes hit or miss. They offer everything from Pizza t...

  18. Beer garden 365? How did they do that??
I first started going here before I was 21, and have loved it ever since. It's the one place I know where they serve GREAT food until 3am, and have great beer to match. If you don't like it, you are nuts!

  19. Pretty good...
They have a good menu selection but it's a little hit or miss with the food. Some things are really good but watch out for the misses. I really like the chicken fingers, the bronzed shrimp appetizer (although small for sharing with many ppl), the salads are good, the brie IS good. I'd say it's overpriced but the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. I used to live around there before they remodeled and...

  20. You're here for the beer & the patio
This place definitely has that neighborhood restaurant feel to it. The bar is nice and roomy. The dining area is seperated from it so you don't have to deal with the bar crowd while you're eating. Then of course, there's the patio. It's like eating in a gigantic tent. It's huge and has homey decorative touches. It's a cool little place to have lunch. The food is alright. Nothing to knock your ...

  21. Out and About
The restaurant is located on a quiet tree lined street. The Metra is directly across from the restaurant but you wouldn't know it. They have free parking and there is usually parking on the street if the lot is full. They have a dining room and an all-weather outdoor garden. I recommend the garden because as you enter you are greeted with the warm glow of white Christmas lights. There are plenty ...

  22. Pretty Good
This joint is really classy looking. The dinners are ok. Ample, but ok. However, the brunch is a revelation. Excellent apple cinnamon pancakes, great waffles, nummy sausage. Really great.

  23. GREAT TIME...GREAT ATMOSPHERE
I had a great time! BREE was fantastic and it was the first time I had eaten it! Beer was great (what beer isn't), and I was on a date there...wouldn't have ever known it was there unless he took me there. Fun times.....!!!!!

  24. 10 stars
My fiance and I love Fireside so much, we got engaged there! The patio is awesome, the food is excellent and the only reason we scored it a 9 on service is that sometimes the "delivery" folks are a little hasty on the phone and tend to mess things up occasionally. But overall, you can enjoy fine-dining, have a drink at the bar, or relax on the year-round patio. Love it!

  25. ...Gets the Nod!
If you are looking for a casual, informal place to relax and dine, this is a great venue. Back garden area is very cosy. Service can be a bit slow when very busy but good value makes up for it. The owner and his staff is what makes this place. If you become a regular they make you feel like family. I have eaten in some of Chicago's best restaurants and I travel around the world yet, when I want t...
