my girlfriend and i came down from florida for a week vacation as we where walking threw mid-town new york we spotted this irish bar so we deceided to go in and try it and i have to say we where well happy with the out come the food was great very enjoyable and cheep so not like most manhattan bars and resturants which are over priced and i must say the staff where all very friendly and helpfull ...
My wife and I spent a couple of very enjoyable hours here over Christmas, we went for lunch and ended up having a couple of drinks at the bar afterwards. The food was excellent ( we had fish & chips and chicken pot-pie, enough to feed an army !), the waitstaff were warm and funny, full of Irish charm and the prices were very reasonable for midtown.
I would have given this place 5 stars if the Irish waitresses were not such rude nasty sloths!!!! We walked in and my friends kid was crying a little. The one waitress who was on her personal phone looked over and gave us a nasty look like kids arent suppose to cry or something. I asked her if there was a problem with the kid crying and she ignored me. Once we got our waitress she was not a...
This is a good place for locals and travelers. The staff is efficient, courteous and sober most of the time, and you are made to feel welcome. If you are a regular, however, be prepared for an old menu and specials, with the same few things rotating in and out. Specials even include actual menu items, and the same price. The quality of the food is exceptional, however, especially the potato leek...
I go here for lunch & afterwork drinks and have never been disappointed and so was shocked to see the bad review. One thing we do agree on is the good food at reasonable prices but I disagree on the service, its a busy place so the staff don't get much time for chit chat but I've always been treated pleasantly, also their burger is one of the best in the city
Not a bad place. The food is generally good and portions are generous. TVs are a bit loud for conversation. It's always crowded at lunch time and after work. One exception to the overall 'goodness' of the place is the staff. The waitresses are indifferent and not very friendly, without actually being surly. The evening bar staff, however, can best be described as lacking in personality and, on o...
If Jayzus was around, he'd have the " Last Supper " here, that's if he had any room left after murdering a few pints!!
Great Staff, Great Drinks, Great food. Its your typical irish pub with midtown clientele and a nice vibe.
i work in the area and go to cassidy's pretty often for lunch. the food is consistantly good and the staff are quite nice. i don't understand the negatives listed about them below, but i think tourists think we're all rude. recommended.
This is an Irish Pub that appears to gear towards more of a tourist crowd with their somewhat close proximity to Times Square. There are several TV's around the bar, but none are very large. Prices are reasonable, $4.50 for a bottle of Coors Light, and the staff is friendly. They have Karaoke nights at 10:00 on Fridays. The bathrooms are in decent shape. It's located a few blocks away from...
My girlfriend and I visited New York for a girls trip and we were lucky to have been staying accross the street from Cassidy's. Even though we ate our way through the city, (and happy everywhere we tried), Cassidy's was a place we ended up (3) times in 5 days. Every day we went, we tried something new and loved it. Sheppard's Pie, and Fish and Chips are a must try. As most people in New York ...
a group of us came into the city for xmas shopping/birthday celebration and wanted to start our trip in off right and thought a pub with a decent beer selection would be a good start. so we hit cassidy's. we walked in and nobody would seat us. we were rudely told to sit down after we approached someone 10 min. later. the service was miserable. our drinks were thrown on the table and when we asked...
After a long day of shopping it was a good place for my husband to catch the game and relax. It was not a typical bar-white linenes and attentive service. Typical Irish food was very good and a good value-large portions. Patrons were a mix of adults and kids. Wood return for lunch again. Excellent location off of 5th Ave shopping.
