Just wanted to say thank you school for the training I received! I am working at a very prestigious bar. I was up against a lot of bartenders for this position, and I know it was my training at the New York Bartending School that gave me the advantage. Again thank you and Cheers!
Staff was very informative, professional and serious about the bar business. The school was recommended by another graduate because the staff really gives you a real life energy of what it is like to work in a bar and help to get great jobs. I'd def recommend this school to anyone int in bartending!!

I had considered going to Bartending School for awhile, but never had a chance to go through with it. The opportunity arose and I proceeded with my search in finding the right school. After reviewing several other schools online, I was most impressed with the New York Bartending School's website and extensive variety of establishments where graduates were placed. I then made an appointment to mee...
This place came recommended by my friend Stevie who is a graduate. I need to make some dough, so I figured I'd go check it out. I walk in and this brunette at the desk just stares at me without saying a word. Weird, no?
After waiting for awhile to be greeted, I asked to get some information. She responded, "Whattaya wanna know?"
I asked for the price and it had gone up to $800 from the origina...
I was referred to this school by a friend. For convenience I went to their Long Island office and I was not disappointed! Better too because it costs less than the Manhattan location. I just graduated last Friday and I am so glad I decided to do this. I am very anxious to start working in a real bar and I will actually be practicing at one of their training bars in the city to add something t...
I chose this school because they didn't try to hard sell me like other schools and I'm glad I did! My teacher was AMAZING! so supportive of everyone, knowledgable really just the best training I could of asked for. I got real life experience and I can say I'm totally statisfied with this school.
Take a class with forrest...
He's a beast! The man! A myth! A legend!
fore real, he's very knowledgable , real and fun!
You guys rock!
Just wanted to let you know that I got a job bartending luxury suites and special events at the Yankee Stadium.
I will start training next week. They were particularly interested in professionally trained bartenders with TIPS certification which was awesome that you guys offered that as well. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again guys
Hello! I am currently working at Boss Tweeds in the Lower East Side!
I had a lot of fun in the class and miss you guys. I think it would be awesome to have you come down and have some drinks on me :)
Much Love

Forrest was very fun and a funny teacher. Teaches well. Gives great advice.I would recommend taking class with him to anyone interested in learning this trade while enjoying it!
These teachers are truly amazing, and I especially appreciated the kindness, and the need to have my class graduate and start working. No question was overlooked by the staff. The job placement counselor was available for help whenever I needed it.
I was recommended this school from a friend. My favorite part was the personal touch in teaching and lots of encouragement I got. The teacher made the class really fun and showed he had alot of knowledge. High quality facilities, relaxed atmosphere, realistic bar set up and training made my experience even better. Oh and thanks for the Van Gogh demo and free bottle of vodka. You guys are awesome!
I worked a party this past weekend out on Long Island and had a great time! They kept me until 12:30 and paid me $350. They said I did a great job and was very helpful, they also said they would love to have me back again. I would LOVE to do more work for you, if it becomes available. Thank you all for everything and I hope I can be your hired gun in the future!!
Hi!! Recently graduated from your school, (about 1 month ago) I had Alexis as my teacher..shes great!! She taught me soooo much...well, Im proud to announce that I am now working at Hennys!!

Well I called and wanted more information from this school as I was shopping around for a good bartending school. Called me back explained everything and wanted to set up an appointment for the next day. I found another cheaper school same everything and decided to go with them. NYBC called the next day to comfirm I told him I wasn't interested anymore and he became completely irate. Asking why? ...
Clearly my instructor had many years experience behind the bar. He was very helpful, patient and professional he really gave us his all. The bar/classroom had really good equipment too.
I recently landed a bartending gig at Mercer Kitchen in Soho. It?s one of Jean Georges restaurants it?s very classy and competitive and I?m excited about the opportunity to learn and expand my resume.
Thank you lots for helping me get the job!
James was awesome! One of the best teachers I ever had. He was thorough, informative, engaging and made the material fun to learn. He is incredibly knowledgeable and personable I can???t stress enough how very fortunate I am that I chose this school. I called for information and the person was so helpful she spent a lot of time answering questions, what to expect and was so friendly I basically c...
Just wanted to drop a line to thank you guys for letting me retake the class two weeks back - but more importantly, I got a full-time position from your job search at Edgewood Country Club! You guys kick so much @$$, and I'm going to be sending a few of my friends to take the course in the coming weeks.
The class was informative and fun and I've gotten 2 jobs with the counselor's help since I've graduated. I'm working at Spice Market currently and I love it.
They teach you everything, You will not have time to get bored as it is fast paced, but they let you take it over again if you need to - I did - just because I misssed a day.
It took me 4 weeks to get a job, but they were very helpful and showed me what to do, say and dress on interviews and pushed me to follow up. I worked a party so that was helpful. I started at a hotel even though I really w...
I really liked the instructor?s enthusiasm, sincerity, and unique sense of humor. All the instructors had superb energy, which led to an amazing experience. They also shared their experiences behind the bar which provided me with a wealth of knowledge.I also liked the website and when I called I was even more pleased with the professional manner in which the agent carried out the reception. James was very energetic and brought a lot of fun into the classroom. He really knows his stuff. 20 drinks in 6 minutes. Plus it seemed legit there were all sorts of articles on the company. I also really like the introductory class. The set up is very much like a bar it made ...
Good: You truly do learn a lot about alcohol, being a bartender & how to actually mix drinks. Instructors are very helpful & personable. Once you've finished, you can always go back & practice mixing drinks. The course itself is fun.
Reality: They APPEAR to promise job placement & skirt around seeming to guarantee it. They tout this as the main difference from other bar schools. 95% of the st...
I took the one week course and had soo much fun! I really worked my butt off for that week though. They're not bullsh*tting you. At all. I went in there not knowing much about liquor. I didn't know what a "spirit" was. Any bartender knows what that is. & since I'm still not even close to being 21, I don't really get to go to bars. I was able to pass the speed test, with 30 seconds left over. I kn...
I researched schools before choosing The New York Bartending School. The 2 things that caught my eye were that they were a branch of the PBSA, a national bartending association, and they offered lifetime job placement. ...
I just graduated on Friday May 30th and already got a gig. No, they didn't place me but they help me become confident enough to ace the interview, show product knowledge, speak intelligibly, and execute technically. James was on point, articulate and interesting. He was also professional and made the training environment as real as possible.
The fact that people can return to the "club" and g...
I researched on line and this school had the best reviews and seemed like I would get the most for my money. I was so proud of myself that I told all my friends that I can make 20 drinks in 4.5 minutes!
Brilliant! Energetic! Helpful! Easy to understand and tells it like it is about the business. Greatly appreciated. I had a great time at the wednesday free course and I loved all of the wonderful testimonials on the website.
Great people to learn from - speed test, quest bartending option, Free Trial class, personal w hen I called, was very informative
Fun, energetic, informative, and always willing to help you. I chose this school because it offers lifetime job placement. flexible classes and you can always come in to brush up on your skills at no extra charge! I enjoyed the role playing with the other students.
Loved everything about this course. Wine & beer seminars, TIPS and behind the bar experience all in convenient schedules. Instructor was very amusing and showed a passion for his job.
James was very energetic and brought a lot of fun into the classroom. He really knows his stuff.
20 drinks in 6 minutes. Plus it seemed legit there were all sorts of articles on the company. I also really like the introductory class. The set up is very much like a bar it made it more fun. The entire experience was very enjoyable.
James was very funny and engaging. He demonstrated knowledge of wine and spirits. Browsing thru the website influenced my decision. Reading through the detailed descriptions of what was offered, plus the comments made by past graduates convinced me that NYBS would be good for me. I saw myself improving each time I did a speed drill.
Both of my instructors were easy to understand, helpful and funny. I felt very comfortable there. I knew from friends that had graduated that I would learn alot. My favorite part was the hands on exercises.
Hundreds of 5-star ratings lined up one after the other with cookie-cutter testimonials. Am I supposed to believe that all these reviews come from happily-employed NYBS graduates, each of them singing its praises on a single web site within days or even hours of each other?
I'm actually glad I ran across this pathetic astroturfing, because it saved me a phone call to inquire about the trial cl...
OK, now I understand the rules: nobody is allowed to post n opinion about New York Bartending School EXCEPT FOR New York Bartending School themselves.
How dishonest, pathetic, transparent, and sad.
I went to several schools before signing up for this one. It seemed the most modern and CLEAN. Which it was. The school itself was setup really nice...like a real bar. The instructors are great BUT it was SOOOO OVERCROWDED. They fail to let you know that they teach TWO classes at a time not just one!! So you definitely dont get all the hands on.....I feel if Im paying almost $700 than I better be...
My instructor was very intuitive, patient, informative, and warm. The job placement rocks it's reputable and very well advertised. My favorite part was the speed drills and the Absolute presentation. Personalizing drinks and having contests for free stuff was pretty awesome.
this is just the newest in a series of schools that pretend that bars will hire you after their training. Wasted my money!
She has a very calm and easy personality, and she give you all the information needed to pass the test and gives you useful information to know as a working bartender. The professionalism from the agents, the actual bar set-up, and, the history and newspaper ads - top-rated bartending school.
I had a GREAT instructor. If I took this course again i would demand to have him. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I gained alot of confidence behind the bar.
It's the only school backed by the New York State Education Department. It covers everything well and pushes you to learn all the materials, all important points and provides lots of real-world advice in class. The skills, speed and knowledge provided in the classroom bars are more useful and practical compared to other schools.
Very easy to understand I looked it up on the internet and I had a friend take the course. it was AMAZING. I would definitely recommend NYBS to my friends.
Upon searching this school seemed more reputable & professional. Everything seemed very straightforward & honest. Could not have asked for a better more knowledgeable & entertaining instructor.
Instructor was witty, funny and informative and above all he made everyone feel comfortable.
I had many recommendations and reviewed articles before picking this school.
My favorite part was graduating I felt accomplished and went from knowing nothing to being confident.
THANKS!
My teacher was really great. He was enthusiastic and insightful, You can tell he knows what he's doing and has alot to teach. I enjoyed the speed tests and music that felt like a real bartending experience.
James is awesome.... Definately the coolest teacher I've ever had.
I chose this school cause they looked the coolest.
I loved learning how to make a Long Island ice tea since that's my favorite drink.
I felt comfortable with NY Bartending as soon as I spole to the person over the phone. She was friendly and told me about her bartending experience. When I cam in to visit, there was NO pressure for me to sign up.
Took her time with each student to make sure we comprehnded every piece of information. Had fun, met many new people. Very credible school!
After a friend told me about it, I did the research and found it to have the best credentials of NYC schools. Loved the non-stop drills.
Very enthusiastic, excellent knowledge of subject area, ran an enjoyable class. They had the nicest facilities that looked like a nightclub and a good reputation.
My teacher was really patient, and informative. He took his time and went over several things I was having a hard time understanding. One of my favorite experiences here was making new friends and learning several drinks prep and garnishes etc.
Of the 3 schools to which I inquired, they were the only one who picked up the phone. I asked my former boss (a restaurant/bar owner) and he recommended the school. Made this course a pleasure not a chore. The class atmosphere was straight-to-the-point, informative, fast-paced, amicable and organized.
Very slick sales presentation to get me to join, assembly line training and no job as a result. the teachers are very into themselves and are more interested in hitting on students than helping them find work
I WAS RESEARCHING ONLINE AND NYBS WAS BY FAR THE BEST CHOICE THEY HELPED ALL THE TIME AND REALLY MADE ME GET USED TO A REAL BAR SET UP WITH NO DIFFICULTIES
Great attitude, professionalism, good sense of humour, tolerance, optimism...almost every search showed the website and besides I heard a lot of good things about it.
Certified by NY Board of Ed, didn't seem like a school that only exists for a month. Very approachable, knowledgable
I choose New York Bartending School because the website was well out and professional, the included lessons seemed much more thorough, and the feedback was positive on the internet. I really enjoyed doing speed drills in class, by the end of the first week I really knew what I was doing and realized I'd learned so much!
I chose this school because I went to alot of website & they all seemed fake, this one seemed the most legit. & plus I knew someone who graduated from here.
Very comfortable! Very clear! Good Instructors + tons of practice + practical knowledge. I wanted the most information, both drinks and business information. I like that I can return to practice as many times as I want.
The school was close by. The teachers were friendly and the students appeared to be enjoying themselves. Great teacher, very efficient, fun & helpful
After visiting (and attempting to visit) three other schools in the city it was obvious to me that NYBS is the only school offering an honest, professional approach to training bartenders.
I believe the entire class was very comfortable which helped us really do our best, was very good I learned alot. He was great!
GREAT, VERY ARTICULATE & VERY WILLING TO HELP STUDENTS THAT NEEDED EXTRA ATTENTION, VERY INFORMATIVE. MADE LEARNING INTERESTING! WHY DID I CHOOSE THIS SCHOOL? THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT FREE CLASS, THE LOWER COST, TIPS TRAINING INCLUDED & MULTIPLE BARSTATIONS. HOWEVER, THE MOST IMPORTANT REASONS ARE JOB ASSISTANCE AND RE-TRAINING
Extremlly professional, efficient, prompt, observant to each individual. Most efficient school chosen from 3 other schools. Looks/atmosphere is like a real bar.
Curriculum seemed to give me all that was needed to be an effective bartender + efficient bartender. Excellent Inst. Constructive + Creative criticism great pleasure to take class with an instructor like him
The instructors, equipment and my fellow students were great. Internet site was complete.Very knowledgeable, kind and fun, always helping out and carefully explaining whatever question you may have.
after doing research, this school was my best choice, no pressure to register, good bar atmosphere and best of all full time membership, very good tutors. has good methods of explaining drink and remembering them.
I talked to a former student who said it was the best (and was making $1,000/night once she graduated), did research on NYBS, and talked to staff patient, articulate, informative, fun - NEVER boring.
He was incredibly informative and put this overwhelming amount of information across in a way that was very easy to understand. GREAT TEACHER! It was an overall great experience, from the students to instructor to the way the course was run. There was such a supportive atmosphere so you're having a great time while soaking up a ton of necessary information.
Fun atmosphere that was also a condusive learning environment. Seemed to be the most professional. When I enquired I was greeted and welcomed which was a make or break situation.
Real bar atmosphere, great reputation, accomodating class schedule, close location - was awesome. Encouraged questions and answered any we had. Very confident & reassuring.
I found on the net and it seemed professional I enjoyed everything about it - especially since I didn't know much about drinks at all starting out. I'm amazed at how much I learned in such a short time.
Plus, this was one of the best so I just had to come here and check it out. He was like the best bartending instructor. He helps you when youneed help and he also makes sure that you not only get it but that you understand it
Very good programs brings energy to the class everyday & shares all his knowledge with students; also the job placement is very helpful. It's a great environment, very fun.
I just moved in from Santo Domingo, and needed to trainn for the NY experience. Great instructor, simple and makes you work hard to get things fast n easy
The most welcoming and seemed to have good facilities and was highly recommended - easy to learn and really made me excited about this career
I have only heard great things about the school and wanted to try it out for myself. I loved being behind a real bar and getting a great experience. I also loved all of the instructors and how much fun they made the learning process. They made the week fly by and made learning fun. He obvisouly knows what he is talking about and knows to approach students at all levels of learning.
Enthusiastic - Always kept it fun - but w/a focused level of instruction. You're jumping in and making drinks an hour into the first class
James made us WANT to get our hands cold + wet making 100 drinks a day! Easy to learn in friendly, fun atmosphere.
Eager to help & make sure all concepts were retained. Made us feel comfortable from beginning. Very knowledgeable & "kept it real" throughout course. Through researching schools online, this one stood out. They called me right away when I submitted my info & everyone was eager to show me around. When I visited, I immediately felt comfortable, and like this is where I should get trained.
Really fun, loving guy. Told us personal experiences. Taught me alot! not just about how to bartend but about the life of a bartender.
I like what I saw makes you feel very welcome and comfortable. Excellent method of teaching makes it both fun and easy to learn. I had a great time. Hard to say I enjoyed it all.
THE INSTRUCTOR INSPIRES ON STUDENT A LOT OF CONFIDENCE ON THEMSELF AND MAKES THE LEARNING EASIER. GREAT, PEOPLE, STAFF, THE BEST
Recommended through mother's boyfriend and websites Very energetic and encouraging. Has a good amount of knowledge about the field. Extremely Helpful, Never is discouraging or hints dissatisfaction The Whole experience was my favorite
I checked out about four others and t his one seemed to be the best option. When I came in and checked out the facilities and instructors I was sold. I feel they are very competent and able instructors. It is my belief that he is directly responsible for me retaining so much information in a small amount of time. He has a very effective, and fun teaching method.
Learning all the drinks w/o just constant memorization of paper, but instead through speed drills, speed drills, speed drills.
Best website and phone consult. The instructor made us WANT to get our hands cold and wet making 100 drinks a day! Easy to learn in friendly, fun atmosphere. It was confidence building to make 20 drinks in 5-6 min with music blasting and instructor yelling out names.
I was searching the web and found the site to be straight forward. Upon visiting the school I could tell it was a professional atmosphere. Meeting with the director convinced me that NYBS would be my choice. Made the learning of lots of information seem effortless. Kept the class light and fun, while still delivering tons of knowledge.
The instructor is an absolute doll - he knows what he's doing, loves it, and makes it fun. Extensive prep, the range and depth of the material covered. Learning about the materials & business, not just drink making, really interested me. The whole time was great - I liked practicing as if we were in a real bar setup with other class members ordering drinks. Lots of fun.
Supposed to be the best school in their area of expertise. The instructor is fabulous, I would highly recommend him - would like to feature him in a segment in my cooking show. Very low key & supportive atmosphere.
Very energetic encouraging. Has a good amount of knowledge about the field. Extremely Helpful, Never is discouraging or hints dissatisfaction.
The instructor made learning the stuff easy. He was very helpful. You were legit. Plus the realistic atmosphere and drink making!
They sold me at the Wednesday evening introductory class - had also reviewed the website. Instructors were very knowledgeable, entertaining and instructive. I enjoyed it very much.
Excellent instructor! He has the gift to teach. He shares all his knowledge and the way he transmit it makes you learn lots of thing. A mexican friend took the course and suggested it. Now, She has her own bar!!
Seemed friendlier, less money-hungry. Making drinks while listening to Rock + Roll - easy, comfortable, makes you feel at ease.
Advertised price of school in addition to amiable staff and attractive bar setup. Good times throughout.
No presure when I called, few student so more attention from the teacher, real bar! interesting website
It seemed as though you would learn necessary info in becoming a bartender at a reasonable price. The fact that once you pay you can return as many times as necessary is a big plus! I enjoyed practicing for the speed test. Great teacher, he is able to teach all of the necessary info while still being funny and energetic. The class never got boring.
Through friends and newpapers (Village Voice) it was the school I heard the most praise of so I chose it over all others. Level of professonialship and easy going class atmosphere.
I saw in Add in AM NY and I was always curious on mixology. Great Instructor. He gave great history lessons and ideas on making new drinks. His work experience was perfect because he was able to tell actuall stories of Bartending.
The instructors & agents were friendly and welcoming and compared to other schools the course looked more involved. Getting to work in group made it appear more lifelike (you behind bar; "customer" in chair) and made it more fun and less stressful. The teacher was very upfront & honest about what to expect; he helped prepare us mentally & emotionally for our tests & for the 'real world'. He was f...
Very professional, always ready to explain a process or clarify/simplify complicated mixes of drinks. Great Teachers! Very Very detailed instruction and motivated classes.
Made me feel comfortable, confident, and unafraid to speak up when I had questions. Great Teacher, very recourseful.
The teacher was really cool. She taught us a lot of traditional drinks as well as teaching us to look outside of the box.
The school is licensed and your website was very appealing. Also your location helped in my decision making as did the cost compatred to some other options. From mixing drinks to tapping a keg, interview techniques, confidence, in my own mind I am now much more comfortable (confident) about seeking and gaining employment as a bartender. Thanks!
The job placement was what drew my attention and the trial class helped in my decision making. I really enjoyed learning about all the different liquors because I came here not knowing anything.
I asked a few friends where I can go, every each one of them recommended me to NYBS. The free intro class really sucked me in. It was fun and you get to learn more than just Mixology. The actual classes are just as fun. Four hours go just like that.
I liked the flexible hours that they offered. The price was reasonable & being able to return anytime throughout my life w/o paying is a big plus. The instructor made us feel very relaxed and encouraged us to learn. He is a great motivator and he really wants you to succeed. My peers were very helpful & lots of fun!
An ad in the Village Voice attracted me. I was very pleased that the school allowed me to apply the deposit I left in Spring '06, when I returned in Nov. '06.
NYBS offered hands on training in a realistic bar setting and was exactly as advertised. The main appeal was being able to return for follow up classes and placement help both here and abroad. The Absolut presentation was cool also.
Very good instructor. His method of learning by doing helped greatly with my retention of most of the drinks I learned about. Knowledge of wines was very cool. I a...
I was informed more than any other place I tried to check out before deciding on a school. Also the fact that I can come back anytime is great. The instructor was very informative. Letting us know if we did anything wrong and keeping us confident which made it a good experience. I didn't get bored.
The instructor was great. Knew his stuff well, had advice to share not just for passing, but for getting hired and handling real situations as well.
Appearrance of the school itself, after attending the intro-class, it was a pretty easy decision. Also reading the testimonials online and comparing to the other schools reviews and comments. My favorite experience aside from the taste-test from Absolut was actually learning the history and process of how spirits/wine and beer are made and where there distinct flavors come from. It will allow for...
I had an awesome time at New York Bartending School. Everyone was really great ! I got hired about a week after I graduated @ The Manhattan Bistro. I learned so much that the other bartenders are asking me to teach them some of the cool drinks I know. Now I'm the head bartender. Thanks so much guys! Come visit me again sometime- Gursimran
First off, I attended the free class. I've just moved to New York, and figured I needed a well-paying job, and bartending was the field I chose. I navigated the website, went to the free class, and I knew this school was good. The instructor created a very focused learning atmosphere. I came in on Monday not knowing a thing (just that I like to drink anything). Now, I know the basics and a good s...
My teacher was very personable and knowledgeable as a person and instructor. He speaks clearly and honestly to everyone he interacts with.
They are all great Instructors. They not only taught me about the drinks, but they taught me how to treat my customers as a bartender.
I joined this school because I read all these reviews.. They didn't come through on job placement. Now I want to know: how much of my wasted $700 tuition went to pay the person who sits there writing all these reviews?
I made a research on msn. I really liked the design of web-site, and comments of students. Even thogh, I don't have a lot of knowladge about drink, this school helped me to know the basic ones. The Teacher really wants to teach her students. She has high requires but i highly reccomend her. All of classes were enjoyable.
Very nice guy and very caring, always help you when you are in need! The school have very nice class room setting and music.
It seemed to be the most reputable and professional of all the ones Ive seen, & I LOVED the trial class! The instructor allowed us to do our best without being too pressuring. He let everyone be at their own pace. We all love him!
The school seemed to cover the most, the staff was friendly and the environment was comfortable. We learned alot very quickly and were comfortable by mid-week. I was impressed that I could learn so much and be confident. The instructor was very knowledgeable and open.
He made the experience very fun and pleasant. Flashy webbsite. Favorite experience - the wine seminar.
Brian was really nice, very informative. He was just real and didn't sugar coat anything which made it easier for us to learn. My favorite part was when we made mojitos.
Mary is very nice , easy going, great fun and real. She has great persona. Tom was very helpful when I called & not pushy!
My instructor was very patient with us. Made the class fun and interesting, You can tell she has a great passion for her job. I ike the relaxed atmosphere and progressing in how to make drinks.
When I walked I thought I was in a real lounge. I went through the entire class and had a great time. I learned a lot, and made new friends. My problem is, I still have no job! I graduated mid summer, and I have all this bar knowledge in my head, just no where to put it to use. They bent over backwards for me while I was still a student, but the day I graduated I started to get the brush off...
Seemed must legitimate, I was right! The instructor was the man! Very helpful. Real funny guy.
I choose this school because it cought my attention + when I visited their web-site that just gave me more reasons to join. came in this school not knowing enything and after 2 weeks came out of here with the knowledge + experience a bartender needs. THNX!!!
Will recomend this school to whomever is interested in bartending. It's a great learning experience, my favorite was learning of the history on Alcohol. The class is legit not mediocre.
Great instructors with years of experience. It's obvious they are constantly learning more about the industry, and pass their knowledge to the students. Nice website/comments from previous students.
The website seemed legit, and being recognized by the NYS Dept. of Ed. convinced me. The classroom really catches the bar feel, and the instructors kept the atmosphere jovial + fun even though we were learning a lot. Vast knowledge and experience really helped in my ability to pick up the trade rather quickly.
Enjoyed every moment of this experience. Very friendly and patient whenever we had questions. Reputable/honest/enjoyed the class.
Answered questions asked and know their facts. The network provided after the class I believe will be very helpful.
I had to crank out a certification in a week and I figured I should go to the best school! The speed test - it's a trial under fire where you really have to know your bar.
Very patient, honest & excellent teachers. I appreciated how you kept (& keep) your information proprietary. Also how you allow students to keep coming back after graduation.
i checked diff. websites and chose the one that looked like could give me the best training. special thanks for the good energy, finding your pace and feelling comfortable
While I was taking the classes at the school I got hired at Hispaniola. It's a cool restaurant with a fusion of latin/asian flavor in the heights. I really like working there. The school really gave me the tools to do well at my job especially making mojito's which is our most popular drink. Everyone was really helpful. They even came by to visit and see how I was doing. Just wanted to say thanks ...
A friend of mine came here & had great things to say about it, she also found a job right away. Love the honesty about the industry & helpful tips & suggestions to make each of us great bartenders.
I went to this school because I knew the training was up to par. I had worked as a manager for 2 years so I knew what to expect when looking for a job, as I had to hire/fire bartenders. I started as a host so I never really leaned to bartend, although I could jump behind the bar and make all the basic drinks. I took the course so that I could fill when a bartender did not show up. The training wa...
About a week after I graduated I started working at different catering companies. I've worked at 8 since then and made alot of money. I'm even working at the Metropolitan museum of art which has an amazing view of the city's skyline. The school has really given me the tools to get these great jobs and made the experience of going there unforgettable. Thanks! Johan L.
Great website. A very realistic mock bar scene. Seemed serious about this line of work. Clear direction, easy to follow. All were very well-informed on their subject(s).
I chose the school because of tis reputation on being the best.. My favorite experience was all of it. The whole course was great! Especially the Absolut contest!
Walter & Jeff, Thank you for everything. Actually I'm not good at english, but they took care of my disadvantage. Every class were so fun, I really enjoyed to study.
It's the only school I've seen that offers so many diff things. I like the fact that after you graduate you can still count on them for help. Thorough, good sense of humor.
The school seemed qualified in intructing individuals on bartending. I liked that you have a full bar setup, your own station and prepare a bartender to work immediately.
I didn't feel any pressure or hounding from any of the agents. There was no one forcing me into anything like some of the other schools I visited. Learning how to make the drinks was fun and I had a good time talking to the instructors and my classmates. Even the speed drills were fun because it made me feel like it was a real bar.
I selected this school mainly because it offered the change to learn about the school before signing up and the bar set up. One of the nicest (coolest) people I've met not to mention a great instructor, made this experience a great one.
When I called the staff was friendly & helpful and answered my questions. Excellent instructor. He was patient and very helpful. He made the class interesting and fun. He is very knowledgable of facets in the industry.
I visited your office and saw your bars. Know new people, learn about drinks. A very good instructor, and had plenty of energy.
very professional. referred to by club owner as best in N.Y.C. also internet. amazing teacher.
Seemed like a good environment to learn. Lifetime refresher courses. Access to school when we need help. Great Instructor, real cool, down to earth & willing to teach. Gives tips for later when working.
I graduated a couple of weeks ago and obviously don't have any bartending experience. My instructor told me it would be okay as long as I put down that I graduated from the school. Well that's not right. Over half the places I have been to have pretty much laughed in my face. They don't even know about New York! Even some of the places THEY sent me don't know who they are. I am so embarrass...
The instructors had a great amount of enthusiasm and knowledge. Just learning about the drinks was a fun experience. fun to listen to and extremely informative of important rules and methodology.
I'm glad to see that this school's PR machine has given itself such a great "reputation", a word they throw around a lot. I graduated in 2005. I need a job, not your reputation.
The best reputation in the business that was highly recommeded. I like the way she interacts with the students. Everyone is wonderfull!!
by far this is the best school to learn, everything about bartending. cool instructor, mention to us all that is concerning the bar, he also mention to us the tips and tricks to have a healthy environment in the work place.
I graduated from this school and the job placement is virtually non-existant.
They tell you that they are affiliated with all these bartending organizations...
but what they don't tell you is that the "organizations that help with placement" were invented by them!
What a total waste of $700 f-ing dollars.
I'm cocktail waitressing now...still no bartending gig.
a visit to more than one school shows this one to be nothing special. They make an awful lot of claims on their website saying they are the "only school" that does this and the "exclusive" school that does that, and many of these assertions are just plain not true, and some are deliberately deceptive. I found training somewhere else for a lot less money from a competitor with a LOT longer track...
had the best website, final test seemed challenging when searching for a school. demeanor makes it easy to learn
After looking around it seemed like the best school with the Best Reputation, really enjoyed the class.
one of the most famous school in the world. he gave us a lot of information to get all the knowledge regarding alcohol.
Had the highest requirements to pass, which to me meant the best training. I love how he incorporated humor and real life experience into the curriculum and the Absolut drink making seminar.
I found the school via internet and I got all the info I needed right on the site versus other schools I had to call and they wanted me to set up appt. which was inconvenient since im from Virginia.
The website is very informative. Came in for interview + he answered my questions to satisfaction. Great Instructor. Thorough, Informative. Made me feel like I really got my moneys worth.
It is the most presigious, so I want to study in the best to be THE BEST as well. Some of my friends told me about this school and they said it's EXCELLENT!
Good teacher. I'm french and I think he was very patient with me. When I visit the school, I have a good feeling and the person who explained me the bartending was clear, simple and didn't compare with other schools bartending. for me, it was a real experience I really liked it.
Heard many good things, excellent instructor, learning about the bartending trade and you get what you pay for.
I chose your school because I thought this is one of the best schools in NY and has instructors with a lot of experience.
I learned a lot I now have my confidence to do a bartending job. Everyday was an experience forme but the last 2 days were the best!!! THIS IS THE BEST!!!
New York Bartending School clearly was the most professional setup and after hearing horror stories from other schools, I found the tuition well worth a few extra dollars to get quality. I would definitely recommend new york bartending school to any of my friends. The 2 week course was a blast, but I would say going through speed drills and realizing "I can do this" - not in 6 minutes, or even 5...
you have got to hand it to these guys. They have over 200 reviews posted here, all of them taken right out of their own pamphlet copy, all of them science fiction. If they spent as much time trying to get the students jobs as they do writing reviews for themselves they might be worth the disgraceful price they charge to have out of work bartenders teach out of work students who are going to sta...
Other people lie about New York Bartending School - it's small classes, real ice, you don't have people from different levels, attention to detail. Very friendly out going instructors, it helped me feel comfortable. I just had a great time every day.
recommendation from a graduate - great teacher and very honest about the business & open with his experiences. I really enjoyed my week here & feel like I have learned quite alot.
New York Bartending School is the best in NY - based on a research I've done. I got a great education - I've learned more than I expected. Especially about spirits and wine. But also it gave me confidence I needed to start working as a bartender - confidence I couldn't get just from reading a "Bartender's Bible"
It's Great! I researched online & liked the fact that : 1) I can take refreshment course; 2) that there is an acutal person who helps with job search
They give good advice and provide clear explanations. I enjoyed creating our own cocktails during the Absolute Vodka presentation. English isn't my first language, and I understood everything! I had an activity with the Embassy CES english school and I was really surprised, in fact, to see that New York Bartending School exists! I thought I wanted to try it; it's always a good skill to have!
Patient instructors with positive & motivational attitudes. Wonderful experience having them as instructors
Great job, very knowledgeable, helpful and personable. I was really impressed with the intro class
I learned everything I needed to know about running a my own bar through New York Bartending School. Everything from creating a cocktail menu to efficient, courteous service tricks and tips. All my bartenders still refer to my flashcards for common and obscure drink/shot recipes. I've sent most of my staff for training there. We are all T.I.P.S. certified through NYBS. My bar is highly rated o...
New York Bartending School was the most impressive + had the most positive testimonials on other review websites the website is well done and the Free intro class was great. I had an awesome instructor who made the whole situation fun. He's very cool and knows his stuff. I like his straight up teaching style and his jokes. He seemed to really not want me to screw up and because of that, only made...
When I visited the website, I was extremely impressed with all the certifications we get with our license. I knew from there on in, that this school was legit not fake!!! I had a great teacher! The fact that he is very blunt & straight forward means alot because he is not "beating around"! He told us how the "real world" bartending experience would be like. He didn't sugar coat it he did a great ...
I wanted the best, and this was the name that kept coming up. My teacher was really cool and down to earth. he knew everything that he needed to know to a tee. There wasn't a question that he could not answer and he was always available to speak whether during, prior or after class
I did research on bartending schools in nyc and new york bartending school had the best credentials + reputation. They were extremely helpful and honest. Taught us everything we needed to know and more without any b.s.
The instructor was funny, informative, & easygoing I loved the hands on experience and the Bacardi presentation.
Really cool - Fun and knowledgeable so it was a pleasure learning from him. Favorite experience was getting down all the drinks and practicing as much as possible.
I was impressed when I came to visit the fact that we got so much time to practice behind the bar. I've heard that pther schools over-crowd their classes. I liked the pacing of the class and he mixed it up a lot so that we didn't get bored doing the same thing. I thought his anecdotes about the realities of bartending were really useful.
My friend research bartending schools he chose this as the best. After reviewing all that he found, I ageed with him. I couldn't believe how quickly I was learning how to make all the drinks from the drill sergeant of bartending!
Kept the class fun and interesting - damn good teacher too made sure we knew our stuff and more. I like how you can come back for a refresher anytime free of charge and I liked the job placement program.
Well-rounded straight forward instructor. His experience gave me a sense of security in what I was learning. The website was the nicest and offered objective info, It wasn't begging you to come there
Knowledgeable, Funny and Honest - gave us the "real deal." The bar is set high and in our struggles we find our best selves.
I came in for the presentation on Wed. night and the presentation was great. I immediately signed up. The whole experience was fun. Extremely patient excellent ways to make it fun. Couldn't ask for a better teacher
Taught us everything we needed to know + more. He is very helpful, supportive and patient and funny. Couldn't ask for a better instructor. NYBS is affordable and has a great atmosphere. There were no gimmicks and I was not forced to sign up. I am very glad I chose this school instead of the others that I had visited. It didn't feel like school because I actually wanted to study, favorite class ...
NYS Education accredited - left no stone unturned and was ultimately very helpful, if not instrumental to my success.
It was alot of fun. Never let me get down on myself when I couldn't figure something out. Whole thing was amazing. I would do it again in a heart beat.
It has smaller classes than other schools and was affordable, compared to other schools. Being able to practice repeatedly really helps make you remember the right way to do it.
Teaches you everything you need to know about any aspect of bartending. Great Instructor Learning all the Drinks was a great Experience. something that will benefit in the future.
Excellent, great real experience stories. Serious and always on subject. I did an extensive search online and heard and read it was the best.
Has a lot of energy easy to get along with very amiable and makes class pleasant. Fantastic instructors! It's UPLIFTING!
The most professional-looking site, wine training & POS training & option for lifetime refreshers - they were extremely informed & down to earth.
very friendly and helpful and supportive it seemed very prof, fun and helpful - and the flexibility of the class schedules
Very knowledgable and made the class fun, also gave tips on how to remember ingredients, which was helpful.
I had a good vibe when I visited + it is so well organized. My instructor was so awesome + made it fun
i chose the school because I felt that I would learn from the hands on training, the lifetime refresher courses, and certificates.
My instructor is brilliant! He has a great charisma for bartending - excellent website. Did not seem like a scam.
Great instructor. I learned a lot frmo him. He taught us, among other things, many different recipes in a short period of time with enough repitition & reinforcment to remember them, but not, so much that class became uninteresting or redundant.
knows exactly how to mix work & pleasure during his classess. Good teacher + nice personality. My friend told me that she graduated NYBS and then she felt like a proffessional bartender. I trust her & now I know she was right!
Teaches what you need to know, and drills you until you know it. Great positive energy and encouragement. Overall a top quality teacher.
I chose this school because it offered the most opportunities - my instructor is honest, engaging, and so obviously enjoys what he does and cares about the welfare of his students.
Great website and the people on the phone were modest and genuine. I started the class one day after moving to NYC, my instructor was amazing! He challenged me because I had some knowledge already coming into the class. His honesty and experience with the business were very beneficial.
High standard. good location. solid course contents. job placement + great environment
I came to the intro class and was very excited about the school. Also a friend had previously attended the school.
Fabulous instructor. He possesses an enthusiasm for his craft that makes the course exciting. Not only did I learn a lot but I had fun while doing it. When choosing a bartending school this one stood out the most amongst the crowd. The website was informative and the staff was very helpful. All of my questions were answered and that left me at ease.
The introductory course drew me in - the class was fun and interesting, and exciting!
the people & atmosphere are great! There are so awesome and gave really good advice on working in the real world and what to do and what not to do. I feel really ready and prepared to get work.
It was great, nice - the course was easier than I thought!
ERY NICE INSTRUCTOR. SEEMS TO BE VERY PROFESSIONAL. GAVE US LOTS OF TIPS ON HOW TO DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS AND WORKSTAFF. AND ALSO SHOWED US LOTS OF WAYS - GOOD WAYS - TO SELL "OUR PRODUCT" AND GET THE BEST FROM OUR CUSTOMERS.
I chose this school because they didn't seem pushy, they were up-front about pricing of the classes. They made it fun and easy to learn.
I'VE HAD COLLEGE PROFESSORS WHO COULDN'T TEACH THEIR SUBJECTS AS WELL
A++ Very informative. Great super, fantastic instructors! It was always a pleasure to be in his class
Extremely competent and friendly. He made the whole experience very rewarding. His attitude and personality were always positive and helpful. James is great! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Any time that I called, they were always willing to help accomodate to my needs and schedule.
Very good teacher, very knowledgeable, knows how to explain things in depth. Being in class is fun but can also learn at the same time. the Best!!!
I though Bartending was going to be difficult, but true is that it put Bartending the easiest way. Awesome way of explaining drink recipes, good presentations, well spoken. Overall great Bartending instructor.
I heard so many good things about this school, and a few of my friends took the courses there, but I was skeptical of spending my money. I met the manager, Tom, who was extremely professional and friendly. My friend and I visited a free intro class, and we were so convinced that we both left deposits that night! I took the class and the intructor, Jeff, was so helpful. I started with very little ...
Really great Guy (my instructor), very easy to talk to. He takes time whith all of his students and makes sure he or she understands completely. Deff knows his stuff
I choose this school b/c of its reputation, the environment is very similar to a real bar setting. I also like the refresher cources + job placement. Also great instructor! I like that he is laid back and no too serious. He still tells it like it is and has great knowledge about the business. He makes me feel very comfortable in class.
Excellent Instructor, Personable able to grab your attention, Put students at ease and answers questions fully and knowledgably. The school teaches much more than just how to make drinks I enjoyed learning about how spirits are made and learning something on how to appreciate quality wines, spirits and beer.
provided very insightful tips on the industry, & was always helpful. It's rated as the best bartending school & it's accredited.
Extremely motivating instructor who showed a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and knowledge for the Bartending Industry.
BOTH TOM AND BRIAN WERE PERSONABLE, FAIR, FUN AND ABOVE ALL EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE IN ALL FIELDS OF BARTENDING AND THE WHOLE BUSINESS. I FOUND THEIR GREATEST ASSETS WERE THEIR ABILITIES TO IMPART THIS KNOWLEDGE TO THE STUDENT IN UNDERSTANDABLE AND ENJOYABLE WAYS. I WAS IMPRESSED BY THE OVERALL LOOK AND INFORMATION IMPARTED ON THE WEBSITE.
As a bar owner, my instructor was the most informative and engaging teacher I hoped for. He was extremely knowledgable & patient. He gave all the student equal attention and provoked thought, using speed techniques and tricks to help be a better bartender. He made the class fun and interesting. I think he is an excellent asset to the NYBS.
They are awesome! Thanks for everything! I'm ready to be a bartender now!
Actually, I did research on bar schools, even before I moved to N.Y. online, and NYBS stood out from the rest at all time, then I visited schools when I cam out to N.Y. and again NYBS stood out from all the rest, I was also drawn to the international aspect of it.
You are the man! I had low expectations (for whatever reasons) of a bartending teacher, but you were funny, inspiring, well spoken, full of good bar stories, and seem to have an encyclopedic knowledge of drinks, liquors, spirits and techniques. I learned alot and had much more fun doing so than I had imagined I would. Thank you for a great week.
Very personable, funny and knowledgable - taught us a ton and made it fun. Great instructor and It was accredited by the state.
My instructor was a pleasure to work with he is extremely patient and is great at motivating others/especially when they have doubts in what they do. I would recommend him to anyone - he has made this experience fun, educational, memorable and all around wonderful.
Great Instructor. Really has right personality and instruction technique to take full advantage of becoming a skilled and profficient bartender. Out of the 3 schools I checked out it was the best from a combination of appearance, course structure and instructor & office people first impression.
It's reputation is great and the class was good, they did it with pacience and explain every detail as possible.
I was referred by a friend & the Internet to come in person, the staff were real informative & helpful. Very outgoing & approachable.
After doing research I found that the NYBS was the top school. I feel that Brian was an excellent instructor. Very informative. Also, explained real-life situations and what to do when we came acrsoss any. He drilled us very hard - he's an excellent instructor.
Taught everything in a clear + understandable way + was always ready to answer any questions. Always approachable. It offered the best environment (is exactly what one can expect at real bar)
NO PRESSURE SALES PITCH - THEY WERE AWESOME AND KNEW THEIR STUFF! VERY KNOWLEDGIBLE. NICE GUYS, TOO =)
The class were hands on very informative and always went the extra mile to guide and be on our level.
I visited the website and thought it was very professional and informative. So I took the chance and called. I spoke to Monica who asked me if I wanted to come in for a visit. I did and not only was she great, but I got to sit in on a class as well. My instructor was great. He is very knowledgeable, funny and easy going. If anyone needed help, he was there guiding them and making sure they ...
It seemed to be the most professional and was the only school actually addredited by the state. I liked the setup of the classroom. ALso, I felt like NYBS would be the most helpful in assisting with job placement. They made the whole experience fun while actually teaching us. Undoubtedly, he has substantial knowledge and experience in the industry and was extremely helpful in guiding us in our...
Great instructors made class really fun and interesting. He went beyond the call of duty to help me out and I really appreciate it.
Jeff was Great! He created a learning environment that was both fun and constructive. I really enjoyed taking his class. I heard it was the best! By the way, I believe it was! =)
Some friend of mine recommend me that specific school. She found the job pretty easly after graduation at this school. I took the "free class" at this school - which made me convinced about attending to tihs particular school
I've researched it online and found out that it's a licensed school and has an excellent reputation. The location is also perfect for where I live. Tom is very knowledgeable. He is a wonderful teacher and made us feel comfortable the whole time. I would definitely recommed Tom and this school to all the people who want to attend bartending school.
After hearing about NYBS from a friend a few years ago I visited the website and it peaked my interest. After visiting the site again and attending the introductory class I was convinced that this was somewhere I could learn a lot from a professional, courteous, intelligent and fun staff. The course, as I expected, is a foundation which prepared its students for both part-time work or a career ...
I found Tom to be a great instructor and also a lot of fun. I'm happy that I chose the morning class. Compared to the others, I felt NY Bartending was more reputable. Also, I cam to the Intro Class (which other schools didn't offer) + I loved it. The other schools I looked into kept calling me to set up an appointment when I said I would contact them, which looks pretty desperate for students...
They make you feel confident and relieves a lot of pressure when teaching - very encouraging which is great because I get discouraged very easily. I was referred by a friend. It was number one on the Google search of bartending schools in N.Y.. The website is fabulous and professional - I never felt like anything funny was going on.
The classes were overcrowded. I had to share a work station and the instructors were to busy putting the moves on the female students to help me when I needed it.
Hurricane Katrina ran me out of New Orleans, I needed an enjoyable occupation while preparing for business school; I wanted skills taught by a recognized bartending institution. One of the best most interesting instructors I've ever had for any class, use of humor, experience, obvious expertise knowledge, great personality, friendly
engaging, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, the experience and expertise shows in everything
They are very confident, patient and well knowledgeable about their jobs. WHen I searched the internet I felt more positive and when I came in person, I was very well informed and I saw the professionalism of the school.
They were excellent professors and took us to our limits, making us more professional and dextrous. Also, their informative suggestions and open-minded attitudes helped me understand the business of bartending much better.
they made me feal very relaxed. Also due to the Jewish holidays I missed some work and he specifically made sure that I was all caught up on everything.
THe staff was accomodating, the minute I got to sit in and watch a class I knew that it was going to be worth while and Fun, plus you get your money's worth and everybody's so laid back, you don't feel discouraged if you don't get everything quickly.
they took the time to supervise, answer questions and overall made everyone feel comfortable. it wasn't an embarassment when we messed up - alot of patience. they offered the most
so i saw an ad in the paper (ny times) and went to their free class. I had seen what other schools offered and was convinced that nybs was alot better. they explained everything thoroughly and showed the wrong and right ways to do procedures.
New York Bartending School had a level of professionalism that surpassed every other school. It offers a lot more than any other school I have come across, making it my first choice. During the class you work with other students who are at your level and make you feel secure. You get one on one attention from your teacher making you knowledgeable. I also loved the fact that they taught us all...
First and foremost the school was licensed by the State and secondly it had everything needed and required to prepare me in my search for a bartending position. They have great instructors with a great sense of humor and extensive knowledge. The school prepared me immensely to go out into the real world and bartend.
I never thought that in one week I would learn so many drinks and make them so fast. Friends of mine kept telling me about it IT'S GREAT - NEVER BORING!!! and classes are full of energy and charisma. THANK YOU VERY MUCH UR THE BEST!!
i frst saw the ad in the Village Voice and checked our their website. it seemed very professional and i took an introductory class for free which made me decide to go to this school. I wanted to learn from the best and so I did...I learned a lot during my two weeks and they explained and broke down the business. I had an awesome time and would recommend this school if anyone was interested in ...
I read that it was the best so I cam here because of the prestige this school has. It really did surpass my expectations of what a bartending school teaches. Very patient and really show an interest in having us learn all the aspects of bartending.
I chose this school because it is a certified school and because of all it offers - The job placement, the refreshment courses, the different schedules. I have no doubt that I will progress in this bartending business
I chose this school because of its reputation. Most people in the city know about it - they are known as the best. My instructor was very knowledgeable about the industry, what it takes to succeed and was very funny. He tried to make the class fun.
NYBS is a great way to learn to bartend, I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in becoming a NYC bartender... Also, the instructors are incredible and I was lucky enough to get the best one. Billy is... Amazing. :) xoxoxoxo
A++ Teacher Hilarious, and the class was so much fun that i thought about taking the whole class over just for fun!
The instructor was professional yet fun. Learning has never been so effortless!. Two thumbs way up.
Excellent teachers!
The fact that they are a licensed bartending school is very important.
I searched online and visited a few schools.
When I went to the free intro class on wednesday I learned so much about the school and even got to make a few drinks. I knew I had to join.
I really enjoyed the classes and had great teachers.
I had a very good teacher. He was always very upbeat and helpful. He kept the class fun and active.
I learned about the different bar settings and the teacher shared his knowledge of the job market to help me decide where I would like to work.
My coworker was in the class before me and love it as well.
The instructor was funny, energetic and had alot of industry knowledge.
I enjoyed the classes very much.
The curriculum and list of offerings were extensive.
I appreciated the posting of class prices online.
No nonsense presentation and honest.
Alot of my friends who are working bartenders recommended this school. When I had a tour of the school I knew it was right for me.
NYBS haw a very professional and efficiendt website. I had little to no questions after reading the FAQ and everyone I spoke with was very helpful.
I believe I've had the best of the bunch, each instructor has their own style of bartending that gave me insight into the various types of scenes out there that I will have to become accustomed to. They are very easy going, very detailed oriented and when it comes to preference and style they always have some helpful hint to enlighten your views of bartending. The website really caught my eye,...
NYBS offers special training for working in extremely high paced bars. My friends recommended it to me as one of the best. It's also a member of the World Bartender's Training Organization.
Very personable, energetic, funny, knowledgeable. We enjoyed the weekend class a lot! It's the only certified one I know of. Good website, very professional and comprehensive course offerings. Also-lifetime refresher option was a HUGE selling point.
Actual former graduates regerred the school to me as being extremely good and a fun experience. My instructor was an excellent intructor. He actually takes time to make sure his students are comfortable with the learning process and in the actual drink making. On a scale of 1-10 he definitely scores a 10 (10 being the best).
What can I say except thank you! The atmosphere, overall appearance and knowledge of everyone on staff is why I chose this school over the rest. Also, after watching the newsreport - I was convinced this was the school for me.
NYBS was recommended to me by a few friends and I had a very attentive instructor with tons of experience to draw off of.
MY INSTRUCTOR WAS GREAT. HE WAS VERY PERSONABLE WHILE GIVING GREAT INSTRUCTION ON ALL TOPICS. IT ALSO HAS A VERY UNDERSTANDABLE AND EYE-CATCHING WEBSITE.
They were all great - sharing lots of advice and funny stories about actually working the business. They gave tons of encouragement and made me feel like I really knew the drinks. Several friends recommended it and I checked with local bars and they all said it was the best.
My instructor was very honest, funny and brought his invaluable bartending experience to the classes. It was very convenient, nice people, affiliated with the BOE (Board of Education)
My instructor was GREAT! He knew everything about all we were learning, and more. He was realistic and helpful to everyone who needed help. He made this class relaxed, and fun and gave great ways to remember the drinks. After reading the website and visiting the school, I felt that this school had the most to offer and was very classy and professional. Now, having taken the class, I found tha...
My instructor was the best! He taught us everything we needed to know while keeping good humor and teaching us things that were simply fun to know. I came here because it seemed that it was THE BEST ACCREDITED school when I was doing research. It was also the one closest to my home.
I CHOSE THE SCHOOL BECAUSE IT SEEMED TO OFFER THE BEST....AND THEIR WEBSITE WAS REALLY PROFESSIONAL LOOKING AND EVEN THE STAFF IN THE OFFICE WAS REALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND MADE ME FEEL IMPORTANT LIKE I BELONGED HERE AT NYBS!
I liked the vibe. It wasn't too expensive and it wasn't too cheap. Another place I went to was very high-pressured in trying to sell itself to me and I felt like that was their approach to bartending too, which I didn't like.
THANKS GUYS!!! You made my experience one to remember! I chose NY Bartending School because I wanted to graduate from a prestigious, state backed bartending school. Also, represent NYC!!!
I found my instructor to be very supportive and informative. I checked out the website and the 40 hour course sounded perfect for me. I took the Free Intro class and was impressed with the set-up, instructors and job placement plan. I also liked the fact that P.O.S. is taught.
Several friends recommended it and I checked with local bars and they all said it was the best.
Most comprehensive internship program at training bars. Were not pushy when I initially researched schools.
All the instructors were great and knew their trade well. I heard it was the best school in NYC - it was true.
GREAT!! Effective, lots of info, great reputation and Lots of fun!!
Very professional and efficient! I checked out 3 different schools and this school seemed very professional and the people are very friendly.
Great energy. Informative, fun and fast paced with attention to details. Never a boring moment! I chose this school because of the lifetime placement and refresher courses and because the instructors have a background in the industry.
Can't say enough-very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Brought alot of experience and insight to class. Their NYC connections and job placement is exactly why I chose this school.
I looked up schools online and found NY Bartending School. Great webpage and very informative! Perfect and "easy-to-get-to" location in central Manhattan. When I visited before attending the school, I received a sufficient amount of information to help me make my decision to pick NY Bartending School. : )
It was recommended as a top notch school. I visited and liked the staff I met, atmosphere and setting. The instructors were really fun, lots of helpful pneumonics for drinks and other need-to-know info.
The owner gave a free demo class and presented his school in a non-pressure environment. I liked that beginning students and 2nd-week students were seperated. Finally, he even allowed me to speak freely with the Job Placement Coordinator prior to joining!
The NY Bartending School looked to be the best and most reputable bartending school in New York. Both of my instructors were very nice and informative guys. They helped everyone and made the training enjoyable!
Other schools had lesser prices but didn't seem as comprehensive as ny bartending school. It's well worth the extra money to use real ice! : ) The instruction is intense. Alex is the most MAD awesome instructor! Very patient, very kind and very REALISTIC about what happens in the real world. Great stories, too.
I checked it out and felt welcome but not pressured and the atmosphere felt realistic. I had a great time and met some awesome people!! I had a good teacher. He built confidence while still offering a healthy dose of constructive criticism.
I chose this school because it gives hands on activity and simulates a real bar situation and experience. Excellent, excellent teacher! Straight to the point instruction as well as great assessment.
Very friendly, very professional, give you ALL the info on phone and in person. They live up to their promises. I will recommend this school to everyone!
I know that this is one of the best schools in N.Y. city. After you're done with the course, you feel more relaxed and so ready to show your skills in the local bars of N.Y. city, being proud that you were a student of the N.Y. Bartending School.
This school has a TERRIFIC reputation. I love that they do placement internationally as well as throughout the U.S. A friend of mine studeid here and highly recommended it to me. I loved the combination of having one instructor doing the first day of class (Bryan - the BOSS!)and another (Joshua) the rest of the week. Bryans percission and pushing un on speed right from the start gave me a feeling...
All info on their website
Gave me info over the phone
Gave me a tour of the school (WITHOUT an appointment)
Let me sit on two classes and offered me a free class
Told me to go check out the competition
NEVER once asked for my credit card (2 schools did)

Seriously! This school is far from being a joke! I checked out a total of 9 schools (Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and New Jersey) and none came close! However, I did see other schools that were a joke! This school is the most honest of all the schools and they DO deliver. I recommend that you check it out first so that when you visit the other schools you will see throw their bs.
From a graduat...
I also checked out every school and this school, I thought, was the most reputable of them all. It was obvious that bartending schools are very competitive because every school ripped apart the other schools, that is every school but the New York Bartending School. It is funny that a student here made the comment that the person who posted "its a joke" was probably from another school, because th...
I spent 1 hour talking to their staff and another 2 hours in their free hands-on class, yet they still encouraged me to go and check out the other schools before making a decission. I though it was a sales gimmick to get you to signup right away. So I checked out all the other schools. I came back and signed up immediately.
This NYB School has all information and prices on their website; answer...
Well, seeing as I'm from Sweet Home Alabama, I found them on the internet. They seemed much more professional than other schools. They had the best site that told me everything I needed to know. I called the school and they answered all additional questions I had, no problem. I signed up. Tom, the instructor was great! He made the class so fun and interesting. He knew what he was doing. He was a ...
I heard from others that this was the best school around, plus one of my friends graduated from here. He works at scores and highly recommended that I come here. Everyone told me that it was a a trustworthy school. I agree! I just completed the course. The instructor Tom was cool, casual and easy going. He's a great instructor. I would recommend him and the school to anyone. THANKS TOMMY:-
I attended this school because it was recommended from a friend - he said it was great - and I have to say it WAS! The instructor was excellent - we learnt a lot and the class was very interesting. Well worth it!
Of the schools I saw this school seemed the most professional. The instruction was awesome.
I looked at several schools and this was the only one that answered all my questions in a clear and concise manner. My instructor (Tom) was outstanding.
This school seemed the most legitimate of all the schools I visited, which is why I signed. I found the instructor very knowledgeable about everything, very attentive to the students needs and troubled areas, ver friendly and approachable.
I have to say NYBS is the best! I checked out all the schools thoroughly before coming here. Non could compare. brian rocks! Hes funny and an expert at whay he does. he really prepares you for the real world of bartending.
Out of the schools I saw this school looked the most professional. They answered all my questions without being pushy, I felt respected. Theinstructor was great! Very knowledgable, a lot of fun, and gives everyone personal attention. He also has a great sense of humor, which makes remembering things easy. Like must of these postings I too highly recommend this school.
The staff is very friendly. My instructor Josh was very personable, knowledgeable, articulate, witty, etc, etc, etc. He was so cool; he made learning simple and fun.
Excellent instructor. One on one training. He was determined to teach us all the fine details of bartending. Highly recommend it!
Just complete thwe 2-week course. It was very informative. The instructor was entertaining, fun and patient. It was a pleasure coming to the class every day. Learnt so so much. It was simply GREAT!
The one-week course was a little difficult for me at first (I was the oldest student in the class (48). However, the instructors and staff were very encouraging and would not let me be discouraged. I was impressed that they took the time to make sure everyone gets it. I passed the test, but to gain more confidence I took the course over again. You can take the course as many times as you want wit...
I found a job in Australia due to the school affiliation with the World Bartenders Training Organization. I was skeptical at first when I was looking at bartending schools; they all seemed so shady until I found this school (they didn't ask for my credit card the second I walked into the door). What sold me was their soft sell. They don't push you, answer all your questions honestly and allow you...
Everything was outstanding. The instructor was very interactive with all students. In addition he would ensure that everyone was on the same page before moving onto the next step. This was the TOTAL HANDS-ON BARTENDING COURSE.
Thank you Joshua, Steve and Brandy.
Great Teachers & Job Placement.
Positive, encouraging, funny and honest!
They know the business! Outstanding!
They do really give you the TOTAL PACKAGE here!
Joshua was a very friendly instructor with great teaching skills. In fact the whole staff was so friendly you feel like being at home. But all that aside I do highly recommend this school. I learnt all the neccessary skills in bartending and then some.

I found the website to be extremely professional and the curriculum appealing. The class itself was EXCELLENT. Significant knowledge of bartending and good real-world experience and anecdotes improved the overall quality of the class. Truly outstanding!
The most comprehensive curiculum of all the schools I checked out. They REALLY do know the business. Very thorough, very patient and very funny. The lifetime job placement assistance was straight-forward and to the point - no B.S.
I choose this school because I heard it was the best in the Tri-State Area. After taking this course, all I have to say is this will be a tough act to follow for any other bartending school. They are number 1 on my list!
My roomate had nothing but fabulous things to say about NYBS. Now I see why! Great teacher, very patient, a good observer, great personality, easy going, yet very very effecient.
My roomate recommended this school to me - I HIGHLY recommend it to you!
A GREAT school! A FUN School! Everyone was very friendly. Try the free intro class first. I did!
My instructor (Top Dawg Tom) was fun and informative. He taught us to be excellent bartenders!
These people are really on top of their job! The instructor (Tom) was very knowledgeable & funny. A great attitude, skillfull. organized and very passionate yet firm in teaching!
Positive environment, down-to-earth staff, descent payment plans. They were here to help & not just to get your money. Willing to work with your schedule. They REALLY were serious about Bartending - have a passion for ...
I did my research and this school just seemed to be the cleanest and most professional school around. The staff was very kind and helpful. As for our instructor James - he was FABULOUS! Very nice, patient, fun and very informative and knowledgeable. Highly Recommend this School!
James was an excellent instructor. He helped you understand the process of bartending to the fullest extent. He was very patient. The website was easily navigated and went in depth. Also people who had gone to other schools recommended this one.
I fell in love with this school when I went to the free intro class. I also did my research on other schools around the area and I can honestly say they did not offer as much as this school did. Tom was an excellent instructor and bartender. His teaching tactics are just great. He makes the classes fun which in turn makes me want to get up and come to school. There was never a question that Tom c...
New York Bartending School was the most legitamate of all the schools I saw and far more professional! The instructor James was amazing. He remembered our names quickly and tailored the class to our individual needs.
The school was professional and well run. Has a lot to offer compared to other schools. The instructor made the whole experience interesting and fun. Simply Awesome.
Joshua is a very cool instructor thats generous on sharing his experiences with the class. Also lots of tips on bartending and job hunting. I choose this school because it IS the Best in NYC!
Josh rocks! He handles everything professionally with a lot of fun and enthusiasm. Really is the BEST school around. if you can make it here you can make it anywhere!
The teacher Michelle was EXCELLENT!!!
The environment was very relaxed
Very Professional Appearance
Absolutely NO Pressure!
Loved it!
1. Answered all my questions without any run-around!

I found that the website for NYBS school was very informative. The prices was reasonable and the school has good reviews! My instructor, Michelle was was a great instructor. She was a lot of fun, professional and very knowledgeable. She gave us real world situations and sound advise on how to make and remember drinks. The class was fast-pased and exciting. I Highly recommend it!
I Highly recommend this school. My instructor (Joshua) was simply the best! He is very thorough, yet at the same time has the class feeling so comfortable. My sister went to this school, and a friend is going to come to this school. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I think this school is really awsome, and I will encourage all my friends in the Bahamas to enrole.
My instructor, Josh, was very clear and very patient. All in all he was awsome!!!!! We love Josh!
I attended this school because other bartenders recommended it. I am now working as a bartender and I have to say my knowledge of bartending (recipes, spirits, wine and beer) is more advanced than the emplyees I work with. The same employess are asking me for info and they have been bartending for several years. I THINK THAT SAYS IT ALL!
Graduated last week - working at Webster Hall.
Can't say enough about NYBS. Training, staff, Job Placement......everything ROCKS! It took me four weeks of deciding if I wanted to do this. I looked at nearly every school in NY. This was way more professional than any I saw.
P.S. Guys of class 9/3 come visit me!
I personally worked as a bartender (mostly beer, shot and the usually highball drinks) for over 1 year before taking this course. I took it because I wanted to learn more about wines and trendy cocktails. So glad I did. The school is a first class operation. You will learn everything about bartending and then some. Thanks to their job placement I am working in one of the best hotels in the city. ...
I whole heartedly with the last posting. This school simple rocks! SOOOO much fun; never a dull moment! The curriculum is amazing. I did actually take a bartending course in Florida 3 years ago, but never got a job and I paid more than I did at this school. After checking out all the schools in Manhattan I decided on NYBS. WOW! Am I glad I did. The training is amazing! The staff is amazing! The g...
I AGREE! This is such a fun course! What a way to meet people! But appart from the fun side of it, the school REALLY, REALLY, REALLY does teach you everything about bartending and then some! You never have time to get bored. I had bartended before taking this class, mostly beer and shots; however, I was amazed with what I learned. I really did not expect much help with finding a job, as I know f...
After a long search for the right bartending school I ended up at the New York Bartending School. I was simply the best school in every way. It was clean, big, fully equipped and had a great atmosphere. I suggest anyone interested in attending a school check out their free intro class first; it really helped a lot! Gave me the info to allow me to compare other schools! The training was intense, t...
I choose this school because it was the best of the schools I visited. I liked the fact the instructor did not sugar-coat things. He gave us the reality factor. He also made the class fun - everyone was relaxed and down-to-earth!
The instructors were experienced bartenders and great teachers - very patient and encouraging to everyone in the class. They taught us so much at a good pace. The class was so much fun, everyone was able to be themselves. The director was nice and down to earth. The school is so upbeat and you can meet a lot of great people to make friends and hang out with them. The BEST school in the city!
I researched bartending schools for a month before I finally took the plunge. I found the NYBS to be way ahead of the rest in everything from training to job placement assistance. I do not quite understand the posting in regards to the job placement. I found it to be outstanding! The website listing was updated on a daily basis. The job placement director was available whenever I needed her. The ...
NYBS was well worth the $695. My sister went to another school and only paid $350. She says it was not worth it. She did not learn half the drinks I lernt at NYBS. I prefer to spend $700 and be guaranteed the best professional training. My instructor was terrific - very attentive, very real, very clear...really knew what he was talking about.
The instuction and the staff at the school are great. And they do follow through with their job placement program. I now have a job at Houston's on 54th and 3rd ave that the school put me in touch with. I probably went to 7 or 8 interviews before getting this one and all the bartending test that were administred the school prepared me for. You just have to put yourself out there. You have to b...
I took the course at New York Bartending School three weeks ago and I have to say the training and job placement assistance was excellent.
I found that the couple of nights of guest bartending that I did truly helped me. These guest bartending gigs are not about making money but about getting your feet wet. I also found that Brandy (job placement director) spent hours with me going over my resum...
Completely professional. The staff were just great.
This school really does spend the time to train you to be the best bartender possible. I highly recommend it!
I found this school on-line. The website was very thorough and it quoted the prices up front which other schools in the city did not. I found the instructors to be great, friendly and extremely helpful. All-around great school!
NYBS was the most professional school with the most informative and helpul instructors. The staff was very friendly and the classes were always interesting.
New York Bartending School was the most professional and complete school I researched. It also had terrific job placement!
All the people I talked to were really nice and helpful. Everyone was accomodating, friendly, and just plain terrific. The training was top notch and there is great job placement!
When i first started to research bartending schools i was unsure what to expect. I was told by someone at the New York Bartending School to visit all licensed schools before making my decision. Thank god i did! There is no bartending school out there that can compare to the New York Bartending School. I felt fully prepared when i graduated, infact, i got my first job that same week! Thanks to all...
I just moved to NYC and I was having a hard time finding a job in my field. My friend suggested I bartend but I've never been behind a bar and I hardly even drink. I looked up websites and NYBS came up! I signed up just by the site and the staff was nice and the instructors are awesome! I also met really cool classmates. I feel like I always have a family to go to in NYC.
I learned so much about...
New York Bartending School was an incredible experience. I was taught ALL the drinks I will ever need to know, and I learned how to make them fast and correct, from glassware to garnishes! The staff was extremely knowledgable, not to mention friendly and interesting. I learned so much more than mixology; I learned everything I will ever need to know to work in any kind of bar, including the most ...
