This is one of two excellent truly japanese restaurants I have been eating at in SLC for over 25 years. It has always been a shining star to me for great dining experiences. Food and service has always been excellent. I really don't like waiting in lines for anything, but I definitely make an exception to that rule when I want to eat here... it really is worth waiting for... very yummy!

The tempura is very good, and the Beef Sukiyaki is outstanding. The service is always great and the atmosphere is a nice alternative to the common trendy sushi bars. Highly recommended.

The owner is so friendly as well as the watiress ladies. They seem to all be from Japan, yet their english is very easy to understand and they are so kind and fast. Recommend Kyoto to everyone!

Now for the only two downsides: Your portions will be much larger if you eat there than if you order it to go, though the price remains the same either way. Also, The prices are higher here than at other Japanese resturants. If you don't mind the higher prices, this is a great resturant for traditional Japanese.
