  4. Can you deport the older Japanese female servers?
At Kyoto restaurant, older Japanese female servers are very mean to younger Japanese/Asian female customers (my Chinese and Korean girl friends agrees)?.They have the worst bunch of older Japanese women ?hating? to serve a customer like myself. They are very nice to Americans -- White men -- though. At the same table, my husband was treated very nicely and I was treated like crap. Is Japan still ...

  5. This place is so good there are often waiting lines.
This is one of two excellent truly japanese restaurants I have been eating at in SLC for over 25 years. It has always been a shining star to me for great dining experiences. Food and service has always been excellent. I really don't like waiting in lines for anything, but I definitely make an exception to that rule when I want to eat here... it really is worth waiting for... very yummy!

  6. Great Traditional Japanese Cuisine
Kyoto offers some of the best sushi and sashimi in town, as well as some excellent non-sushi dishes. The tempura is very good, and the Beef Sukiyaki is outstanding. The service is always great and the atmosphere is a nice alternative to the common trendy sushi bars. Highly recommended.

  7. Nothing memorable
I recently moved to slc from florida and have been looking for a good, affordable place to eat sushi. In FL there was one sushi place I frequently went to which had huge, really tasty rolls that were very inexpensive. Usually between 3-6 dollars( including rainbow, dragon, and other specially rolls). I went to Kyoto because I had heard that they had pretty good, affordable sushi. While it was...

  8. I love this place
This is a great place with really good food. The tempura veggies and the sushi is sooo good. I love the atmosphere and the option to sit on the floor. Great location and prices are reasonable.

  9. Best Udon in Utah
Always same great taste! Love the nabeyaki udon and tempura. Best food in utah. Kyoto never seems to fail me. The owner is so friendly as well as the watiress ladies. They seem to all be from Japan, yet their english is very easy to understand and they are so kind and fast. Recommend Kyoto to everyone!

  10. Impressive
We are searching for a place we like for sushi here. We came from CA originally and have also lived in NY...so we can be very picky about our sushi (especially the freshness). We took my father-in-law to lunch here. The service was okay, all of our lunches came out at different times. Better freshness, but awkward with 1 or 2 out of 3 eating. The sushi was good...not fantastic, but better tha...

  11. Authentic Food and Atmosphere With Delicious, Reasonably Priced Sushi Took Me Back to Japan...
We arrived on a Friday night at just after 5:30PM, in order to avoid the evening rush. Despite not having a reservation they were able to seat us right away and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our dinner. Our meal consisted of sushi and appetizers. The variety, quality, and relatively low price of the sushi was wonderful. We enjoyed every bite of it! My favorite was the spicy tuna roll as it...

  12. Sorry, it's expensive.
The "Meal Price" rating needs to be adjusted to reflect "$$$." Trust me if you want sushi there are better places that are a lot cheaper!

  13. My Very Favorite Restaurant of all Time!!!!!
Put this Restaurant on your ?Must Try List? My recommendations include: Ebi (Shrimp) Tempura, Chicken Teriyaki and Gyoza. Ginger Ice Cream is a real treat. My wife loves their California Roll. I think you will find they have the best Sushi and Sashimi in town. I have been going here for almost 20 years and literally hundreds of times and I have never had a bad meal. Reservations are a good i...

  16. Good though pricey
Traditional Japanese, seriously great food and great servce. Now for the only two downsides: Your portions will be much larger if you eat there than if you order it to go, though the price remains the same either way. Also, The prices are higher here than at other Japanese resturants. If you don't mind the higher prices, this is a great resturant for traditional Japanese.
