Drunk waiter
A year or so ago - my friend and I ate here. Our waiter was very intoxicated. Totally screwed up the check... Manager did not offer any sort of "compensation" or discount to offset the bad exerperience. I'd recommend that the management here take some lessons in customer service.

If you want to go somewhere so crowded you can't move and so loud you can't talk go to Nakama! The food, and service here is below average. This is simply a trendy place to "be seen" at. Server stole two credit cards, didn't even feel bad. Manager did nothing and still charged the meals on the cards even though there were no signatures! Super disappointing for a place that's supposed to be award-winning. Go at your own risk, but I'd rather have sushi or hibachi somewhere else.

Nakama has great cusomer service and are quick to meet your needs. Their food is amazing and their dipping sauce is even better. I had my 33rd birthday party lunch at Nakama and the food was great. The chef did a great job. Best Japanese restaurant anywhere
I visit Nakama at least twice per month and have always had great food and great service. The atmosphere is very welcoming to large groups. When I have guest in town I always take them to Nakama!

WE LOVE NAKAMA!!!
Everything is good -- food, drinks, service -- and some things are truly great, such as the appetizer of Green Noodles (make sure you have breath freshener -- LOTS of fresh garlic!) and people watching (always draws an interesting crowd). The only bad thing is trying to find parking on the South Side, but Nakama even makes that easy with their valet service.

Everyone I have ever taken there loves it. I recently tried Yokusa at the waterfront. The place was empty and they told us a 45 minute wait. After we tried to leave they sat us at the sushi bar. I've been to Nakama several times and have yet to have a bad experience. The food is fresh and flavorful. The Sushi is delicious and aesthetically pleasing. The staff was courteous and prompt.

Nothing Else Like It
Nakama is one of my all-time favorite places. When I take friends there for the first time, they rave. No other Japanese steakhouse that I have been to has food as excellent as Nakama's. If you're planning on going there for dinner it is always best to make a reservation and allow time to find parking, but other than that the food is to die for and the atmosphere is great.

BEWARE!-Good Reviews are for Gift Certificates
Nakama is really violating the spirit of this website! Look at all the good reviews posted today. Nakama sent out an email stating they'll give gift certificates for positive reviews! I've eaten twice at Nakama and been underwhelmed both times. The service was lousy and the restrooms were in desperate need of a cleaning. Shame on Naklama for being so sneaky!

Fun place to eat
We have been to Nakama on a number of occasions and have always had a great time! It is a great place to go with a group of people. The service is excellent! They have a very friendly wait staff and great chefs! Plus, after dinner you can hang out at the bar. I will definitely be back.

Great Service at Nakama!
Nakama was one of my first sushi experiences and it really turned me into a sushi lover. I have yet to try their hibachi, but the sushi is delicious. On my first visit to the sushi bar, I didn't know much about sushi and wasn't sure how and what to order. The sushi chef was very helpful and actually enjoyed explaining everything to be. It was very educational and tasty!

Great Meal & Entertainment
My husband & I recently had dinner and had the lobster tails and kobee(sp?) beef. The meal and entertainment was excellent. From seasoned sushi veterans to hibachi novices, there is no better place than Nakama. Their Happy Hour special include half-off appetizers, sushi rolls and drinks! The Best Bartenders
I have always had great service and fun. I eat and drink mostly in the bar but also have had diiner parties in the back. I love the Nakama card.... it offers get benefits for return customers. Not much of a show!
For the cost of the meal we expected a much better show. Our table cook was grungy looking and rather lifeless so that it put an overall damper on the meal. The sushi was lower quality compared to that of other Japanese restaurants in town like Kiku or Sushi House.
