Really Enjoyed This Place Good service, cozy...just the place to be on a rain Saturday afternoon. We ordered cubans and really enjoyed them. Beans yummy, rice, yummy. No complaints. Try it you'll enjoy it. Read More On Citysearchneatomosquito 1/19/2010
In love with this place My father in law is Cuban and has brought me here many times. I love this place. I am not Cuban so I can't say if it's authentic but my father in law seems to think it is. We always have great service & the food is so good who cares if there's plastic chairs ! Yes , eating out is about the atmosphere but sometimes people think too much into it ! Sit , relax & enjoy the food. Read More On CitysearchGemini82 11/2/2009
Not so much Cuban Being cuban myself, I found a few problems with this restaurant cuisine, for example anyone that have tasted tostones knows that the plantain must be as green as it can gets. well they did serve semi-ripe tostones (sorry that is a big no no in a cuban kitchen) the owner is a very nice guy but either he figures bc of the lack of cubans in atlanta he can get away cooking crappy cuban food. My wife... Read More On CitysearchMatanzero 5/20/2009
Not thrilled This restaurant is on a cute little Midtown street and feels like it should be a great find (and if you read reviews of it, it sounds like it is). It was perfectly OK, but not out of this world. Decor feels a little tatty. Read More On CitysearchCitysearch User 9/23/2008
Nice time out My partner and I had a wonderful time. We had a late dinner at Kabul and it was great - the restaurant was a little crowded since it was after 7pm. The interior was very nice, the service was good, and the food was excellent Read More On CitysearchCitysearch User 7/15/2008
Good Food. Doesn't feel Cuban I just ate here this past weekend with some friends and really liked it. The staff is great. The entrees were excellent, although the black beans were really bland. Maybe it's a cuban thing. And although I liked the rustic nature of the place, I didn't sense anything Cuban about the outdoor patio. Maybe some cuban-styled tables and chairs would have been nice (comfortable, of course). The p... Read More On CitysearchGuapoJoe 6/23/2008
Wonderful Cuban Food This my favorite place in Atlanta to satisfy a craving for Cuban. The staff is exceptionally gracious and friendly, and the food quality is great. Dining on the small patio is great when the weather is nice. Be sure to try a side of the yucca frita; it is exceptional. If you go, note that they're closed Sun-Tues. Dine on the patio if possible We were holed away in a second room and it was kinda stuffy. Also, each waiter thought the other was waiting on us (and thus we didn't get served very quickly). Alas, they were very apologetic and gave us free dessert. Anyhoo, I love the feel/location of the place (and nice I can walk to it from my condo). I thought the food was very good. And it was the perfect venue for a mutual breakup betwee... Read More On Citysearchgreen2u 7/9/2007
nice porch tucked away in neighborhood, food a disappointment Went back to this small, intimate little restaurant in Midtown after a few years and if you are Cuban or know Cuban food well, go elsewhere. Things started to look bad when the black beans arrived and they were were tasteless---Black beans are easy to get right and if the aren't you know there are problems in the kitchen. The yucca a classic Cuban staple, was all carbo and no flavor. The meat di... Read More On Citysearchatl30306 5/4/2007

Ok...I guess? I don't pretend to be the most astute Cuban food aficionado, but I have some good Cuban eats during my lifetime. Having said that, Las Palmeras is ok....I guess. It's tucked away in the uber exclusive/trendy Piedmont Park neighborhood (btwn 10th and Ponce De Leon) which gives it some point. Unfortunately...the points pretty much end there. I was with a large group of people so to say I was able t... Read More On Citysearchmimicatl 9/19/2006
Disappointment I have to admit that after reading the other reviews my husband and I were pretty excited to eat here. My husband grew up in Miami and is Cuban, I grew up in Tampa and have had my fair share of cuban food. Las Palmeras is NOT good cuban food. The bread that came out before the meal was OK, it wasn't cuban bread but that is hard to find anywhere outside of Florida. We both ordered the Ropa Vie... Read More On Citysearchavery99 7/23/2006
great cuban food, friendly staff, outdoor seating Las Palmeras offers good food in a friendly atmosphere. Go there on a nice night and sit out on the patio. The waitstaff is friendly and not pretentious like so many other downtown restaurants. I am not a cuban expert, so I can't say if this is authentic or not, but the food is excellent nonetheless. The prices seem resonable to me...also their wine and beer selection is not overpriced either... Read More On Citysearchowlatrice 7/6/2006
Great little place with two caveats. Quaint cuban restaurant. Not fine dining by any stretch, but the food never dissapoints. Portions are reasonable, unlike places that cover-up sub-standard food by giving you more than you can eat.
This place has gotten popular, so the prices have increased across the board. I would no longer consider it cheap eats, but still very reasonable. Also, the restaurant is small, so it can get ove... Read More On Citysearchdubyadee 5/30/2006
Take it from a Cuban, it IS authentic Being a visitor to ATL, I was totally surprised to see such an authentic Cuban restaurant away from Miami. The food was great, and even time consuming dishes such as Boliche and Ropa Vieja were exquisitely done. A super find! Read More On Citysearchlbotta 9/18/2005
Hidden gem in Midtown What a find! Already loved by many, but still a wonderful discovery. If there's better Cuban in Atlanta, I haven't found it yet. Completely casual. Servers are super friendly. On nice days, the patio is hopping. Go, go, go. Read More On Citysearchatledit 3/11/2005

Finally made it... Pleased w/ everything-- food , service, casual atmosphere & prices. Though cuban food has a tendency to be heavy, my meal was extremely light. Best (and least oily) yucca I've ever had. I will be back Read More On Citysearchh_dub 10/17/2002

What more would you want in a Cantina? So JW is gone and Artel has left also... Big Deal... and the BYOB so what... spring for the cost of a beer or better yet have a Jupina along with the very very best Mastiats de Puerco, and Pollo Asaso this side of Little Havana.. Excellent Cuban This is the best Cuban food in Atlanta, by far (with the possible exception of the Kool Korners' sandwich). I have visited the other Cuban restaurants in town, most of which are relatively disappointing. Las Palmeras serves simple, flavorful food. The masitas de puerco is my favorite dish...slow roasted pork that is quick-fried and served with a lemon garlic sauce and onions. The pork is tend... Read More On Citysearchbbell73271 8/9/2002
A GREAT LITTLE CUBAN SECRET! Las Palmeras is such a great little cuban restaurant. The cuban sandwiches are great, but the veggie plate is killer too. Great atmosphere and staff and the prices aren't bad either. This place is tucked away in a residential neighborhood and is one of the best kept secrets in great Atlanta food. They keep odd hours, so call to be sure they're open. Read More On Citysearchesiegel76 8/4/2002
Little oasis Slyly snuggled in one of Midtown's prettier neighborhoods, Las Palmeras is one of those places you almost don't want to tell anyone else about. The intimate indoor and outdoor seating lend a romantic feel, yet the place remains casual. My experiences with the restaurant's well-prepared Cuban cuisine have always been top-notch, and the waiters deliver comfortable service. I think that Las Palmeras...
