The staff and service were exceptional. Our group event was wonderful at Max Lager's. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food and local-brewed beer was excelent. A great place to go with a group or just with a few friends.
My family and I had such an enjoyable evening at this resturant. The atmosphere is a mix of a laid back and casual coupled with fine dining; beautiful lighting in the evening. The food is fresh and perfectly seasoned. The wait time was perfect in between courses. The staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy their work. It has been so long since my family and I had a dining experience like this one....
With all of the dining options available to visitors of Atlanta, Downtown is often overlooked. However, if you want to drink some quality microbrews and dine on continental offerings with a Southern flare, Max Lager?s is the place. You can park across the street at a discounted rate (Inquire with staff). The d?cor is industrial and cheery. I enjoyed a meal at the bar. The bartender was courteous...
great hand crafted beers.. amazing food.. and awsome attendents... we were pleased to be there.. and we were just passing by and became in love with this place.. we recommed to ALL of you;
Good food, good service and great beer!
I had the pleasure of dining at your restuarant Friday. Our server Trent totally ROCKED! Definitely let him know he made the dining experience all the better. The beers were great, the steaks were awesome...I will definitely be back!!!
I frequent the downtown restaurants as I work and live in the area. Max Lagers always provides a solid answer to my hunger. Yesterday I was in for the first time since the holidays and they had an awesome fish soft taco made with mahi mahi. I couldn't finish it all, it was massive and was really, really good. It was a special and I am writing this review to let them know to put it on the menu...
I go to Max Lager's every time I am in town for the mart .
I love the Texan steak and the Max Black Beer.
I happen to have been there on Sunday night and I can say that it was extremely busy.
I have met the manager Bill several times and he has always made time time to spend a moment talking to me.He and his staff do a wonderful job everytime I am In the restaurant.
Rena, does a great job ...
UNBELIEVABLE! How can a restaurant run out of 75% of its menu items??!!! No pizza, no pasta, no fish, no ribs. NO PIZZA! Granted, it was 9pm on a Sunday night (we waited for an hour and a half even though we called ahead; and during that time, no one mentioned that the kitchen had been all but wiped out), but you're in the downtown area of a major convention city... You have to be prepared for bi...
I went to there with 10 work colleagues from both New York and Chicago. We waited 90 minutes, although we had reservations and drank the beer that was agreed by all to be flat. This place was out everything - pizza dough, so no pizza, no pasta primavera, no salmon, no ribs, no guacamole for quesadillas, no sirloin steak, and I'm sure there were others. What a disappointment because we went the...
I had a steak dinner, and a friend had salmon in early January, 2009 while in Atlanta for training. The atmosphere was okay, but the meal was unimpressive. The food reminded me of a small eatery in any small town you might run across: it was palatable. However, given the many great choices in downtown Atlanta, I can't recommend this one.
This brew pub is a great place to meet some friends and sit at the bar enjoying beers. The beer brewed in house is good and they are many kinds to choose from. Great atmosphere and location.
My husband and I love this place. It is one of Atlanta's best kept secrets! If you are looking for a fun time at dinner or a great movie watching experience this place has it all.

I have been coming to Max intermittently for many years and I would probably best categorize it as "upscale comfort food." The decor and frankly, most of the menu, are pretty forgettable, but for me, it's all about the service.
Every time we come here it feels like going to visit a friend. All the wait staff knows us and they are always accommodating - not JUST to us, but I see it with everyon...
Look, I go to Max Lagers at least once a week because I work downtown and would consider it one of my favorite places to go around Downtown Atlanta. Maybe this guy's server was just having a bad day, but as often as I go, the service has been consistently good and the food is very good. I usually sit up at the bar for lunch, but my coworkers and I have gone to Max Lagers for happy hour too becaus...
Max Lager's is a brewpub that sells beer that they brew themselves. It's a must visit for any homebrewer aspiring to further his or her hobby. Food is bar food/pub style and very good.
This has to have been the worst service i have had in a very long time.I was in town for work and stayed at the hyatt and saw this place and thought to check it out,BIG MISTAKE.I first order a drink called a max margarita it was an average drink tasted like a margarita. Then i waitied for my server who kept walking by but did'nt ask if i was ready to order,I finally got her to come take my order ...
Thank you Max Lager's for being so accommodating for our rehearsal dinner on June 20th! We had more people show up than expected and the staff did the most wonderful job taking care of us and were so pleasant throughout the entire night (even when we were being difficult). Every single guest loved Max Lager's from the food to atmosphere. It was truly perfect for Brad and me.
We'll definitely be ...
We referred guests from The "ProgPower Conference" we held at our hotel (The Inn at The Peachtrees Hotel) to Max Lager's and one guy was telling us at the front desk how he wished there was Max Lager's in his city so he could get the Fish & Chips there!! A few guests stopped by to drink a few beers on Friday before heading out to the conference and loved it! Just wanted to say once again, we rea...
I was in Atlanta for business recently. I was staying at the Hyatt near Max Lagers and saw their ad in the Delta inflight magazine. Myself and my coworker ate there three nights in a row. I am a very picky restaurant goer and was very impressed with the quality of food and the level of service that we received from your servers, especially Lisa. I will be sure to visit Max Lagers next time I'm in...
Max Lager's offers a typical pub menu, but they do it very well. When I worked downtown, this was a good place for lunch if you had a little extra time. They also have a large space upstairs that they will rent out for private parties.
If you're looking for a place to dine or drink dowtown Atlanta you must go to Max Lagers. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is good and money is right. However the best part of Max Lagers is the wonderful staff they have, they're very attentive and always greet you with a smile. I highly recommend Max Lagers to anyone in downtown Atlanta.
Tanisha is by far the best bar tender I have ever me...
I was very excited to try this place, but was very let down. The food was mediocre at best and our server was not very good either. The beer was okay - I liked the seasonal amber brew. It was a disappointment!
Dear Max Lager,
During a recent stay in Atlanta, of all the resturants on peachtree street, I found myself choosing you establishment. Your resturant was clean cozy, but most of all the food was SO...SO... GOOD. Max Lager's gets two thumbs up. On my next visit, I am looking forward to ordering the pork chops and hopefully Rena's the bartender.
That evening the bar was very busy, but Re...
A decent place to socialize..
Service was friendly..
Drinks were cool..
Food was pretty ok...
The crowd was alright...
On my most recent trip to Atlanta this was the first and last place we found ourselves for dinner. The food is really good and the service is very friendly. My only beef was that on the first day we went (a monday) they were out of all the seasonal beers. The chicken wings were pretty good, but they only offer a mixture of them if you get 20. Get lots of stuff to share.
I had the filet mignon and it was superb. The salad was excellent but most of all I enjoyed those fresh baked flaky biscuits...they melt in your mouth. We did not go into eat until around 8:40 / 9:00 pm so there was no waiting and the service was attentive & efficient. I'd surely go back again but I'll try the ribs next time.
Always looking for a healthy meal, Max Lager's works great for me. Their big salads with grilled meats are the way to go. I have always enjoyed my experiences at Max Lagers and go every chance I get. Parking in the back is ok, although not free. But it is easy off the hiway from Buckhead. I usually have wine, but I had to try the Okctoberfest which was awesome...full bodied with a nice flavo...
The first time, I dined with my father and brother in 2000. I remember thinking how average the food was and how poorly the beer tasted, especially for a "brewery". Fast forward to 2005, my wife and I had a concert to attend nearby and thought we'd give this place another try. Another Bad Idea! I had one of their pizzas, which was stale flatbread with weak sauce and a dollup of cheese. My wi...
Went here on a Thursday night, was kind of empty in there, but I suppose that's downtown Atlanta on a weeknight... Jalapeno onion rings -- mmmm.... Service was good, food was good. Beer coulda been colder, and we didn't think any of our samples stood out with distinction. I'd have to give the nod to Gordon Biersch up the road on Peachtree, but Max's is fine if you're at a downtown hotel seek...
Had a wonderful experience at Max Lager's. From the fresh ice cold beer to their delicious wood fired pizza. A cozy location in downtown is convenient to my office.
I'll be back!
