.....I would say the place needs a bit of an overhaul. Felt kind of gross. But for what the place is, it was fine.
Best burgers in Atlanta, great dive place in the VA Highlands to take your kids. Even better during the summer, when havin a burger and a brew can't be beat!
George's, the Vortex, and Ann's Hamburger stand are my three favorites in Atlanta for burgers.
All make a good homestyle burger, like those cooked in the old days by mom. BIg, juicy, good sized bun and just about anything you want on them. I like to pick my own stuff, but roasted red bell pepper adds a lot to mine, along with red onion.
George's is a great place for top notch bar food. Burgers, tuna melts, cheese fries are all great. Good selection of beers and wines, great prices, outdoor seating when weather permits. Bring your dog, they are welcome just outside of the patio area. Doggies love people watching too!
George's is a great place to go if you are in the mood for a fabulous burger! They have wonderful vegetarian options as well; I am in love with their black bean burger! They have such a variety of toppings and give you the option to choose whether you would like a beef, black bean, veggie, or turkey patty. They have a variety of other menu items that are great, but I stick to the burgers. This pl...
I love George's. The family atmosphere is the best in town. I always see people I know. The service is great but it's not the Ritz. What you get at George's is normal food and certainly a malted beverage. I like to get the Char Grilled Chicken sandwich with swiss and coleslaw on the side. And a beer in a bottle. How normal is that? I love it. It's fun to get organic buffalo mozzarella with...
I've been going to George's for years, live in the area. It is always great service and food. The burgers are the best in Atlanta. Family friendly. Also, runners gather here after their run on Wed. nights. Nice outdoor seating for summer, spring and fall.
This place is a great place to got after a walk or a run in the Highlands for a burger and fries. It is a downhome bar with a laid back atmosphere. Very cheap too!
Fantastic burgers- they come in two sizes so you don't have to have a huge burger if you don't need it. Ice cold beer. Best service anywhere in the Highlands. Great sides.
This is a great, low-key neighborhood bar where the locals go for cold beer and great bugers and bar food. The weekly trivia is fun, and I've gone a few times with the weekly running group on Wednesdays. It's the only place I've ever gone where the staff recognized me and learned my name. It still captures the laidback feel of the Va-Highlands.
I ate there on a Saturday afternoon with two friends. The burgers were really good. Six thumbs up! The service was not very good, though. I also noticed that the chain lamps hanging over each booth were filthy. Good thing I didn't notice that till after we ate, or I would have left.
This is a wonderful hidden gem tucked away in the highlands. Take my advise order the 8oz Blue Cheese Burger with a nice cold beer and you are set.The onion rings are amazing and for just for a mere 50 cents extra...what a steal. This place is a great cozy spot where you can actually hear the person across from you and still have your voice in the morning. I highly recommend this neighborhood sp...
I love places like George's: Inside is a cool dark faux-wood paneling atmosphere, booths that have been there since before the Reagan adminstration, and cold Newcastle on tap. There is no pretense about this place. It is a dark and cool oasis from the dreadful summer heat of the city.
The burger with Blue Cheese is amazing. Don't waste your time ordering the 5 oz, go ahead and get the 8 oz, y...
Great mix of people. Great service. Always friendly. Absolutely no attitude. Completely laid-back. Good food. Cold beer. Ample seating. Love the decor (especially around the holidays). It's been one of my favorite bars in Atlanta for years, and is the only bar I really like going to in the Highlands.
I simply love the Chicken nachos at this place. I go here for lunch often. Its not too crowded or loud and the food is excellent.
This is what I call a burger! Ive eaten a burger or two in my life time and this is what a burger is supposed to be like. Many varieties of burgers, I look forward to trying them all! Great service as well. I was impressed to say the least.
