Nice outdoor seating, once we got sat which took about 20 minutes and they were not even busy. The menu was limited especially for lunch/brunch. Service very disjointed. The sausage platter was excellent. I must say it was better than the German places we've eaten at in Helen- those were horrible. I would go back here to have some beer and sausage.
Wonderful little German bar/Bakery!
Always great service, great German food, great German beer, and great bakery!
I have been going there for years and have never been disappointed!
My family is German, and I grew up in a small town with a large German ancestry. So, this food feels like comfort food to me. The sauerbraten is outstanding, and no short-cuts are taken in the preparation. If you like sausage, try to sausage platter for 2, and order from the extensive beer list. Nothing more German than that! The items in the bakery are also good, so take something home for break...
The Village Corner serves excellent german cuisine in a very quaint, authentic setting. The bakery features all sorts of baked goods, including breads - not just desserts! They also do cakes for special occasions and host gingerbread house workshops during the holidays.
My husband and I have patronized the Village Corner Bakery in Stone Mountain on several occasions, mainly to support businesses in our neighborhood. The food was just ok and the cakes use to taste as described on their website. This year I ordered the Grand Marnier liqueur cake for my boss, based on the description of having, ?4 layers of yellow cake soaked in Grand Marnier liqueur?. I told my bo...
Having lived in Europe, I was genuinely very pleased with the quality of the Village Corner. The food may be a bit pricey for some, but it's well worth every cent, as it's AMAZING. I was ecstatic to find such authentic and delicious food offered in the area. The service is very personal and you're often waited on by the owners and greeted in German. There's also a bakery attached on the side ...
This is the best German food I had since I left Germany many years ago. The prices are reasonable and the food delicilous. The desserts are to die for. The building is quaint and the service great. I have never had a bad dish.
I don't understand the bad reviews-we went here last weekend and had an incredible meal where EVERY SINGLE THING was delicious. I've had plenty of mediocre brunches in this town, so I wasn't expecting much, but we were so happy to have such a great experience.
I got the potato pancakes with smoked salmon, and they were delightfully crunchy, and also came with the traditional sour cream and app...
Nice selection of beer that changes from time to time, friendly bartenders, quiet and NO SMOKING inside. Okay for kids - well behaved customers. I would appreciate some additional Americanized snacks, they don't quite get the right formula for nachos, but the snitzel-waggen-furter-fruten German stuff is good. Nice atmosphere, but I would like to have a lock on the men's room door. Surprise?
I am very unhappy with my experience at this hell kitchen! Chef ramsey would love it! The prices were totally over proced and claus and hilde were so rude! It is just a FAKE world and would NEVER EVER go there agin! so save your money and time and go somewhere honest and fair. DO not eat that food you will get SICK! Thats a promise. The I team was there last year if that tells you anything!
Hello, my fiance and i are knew to georgia. we visited this restaurant with some of our neighbors two weekends ago only to find an overall bad experience with a very upsetting credit card bill two weeks later. we had been charged gratuity twice because we left a tip without knowing that it was already included for only 5 people dining. hoping to find an oktoberfest celebration, we instead found...
Recommended by a friend quite a while back, I was surprised by the welcome and the menu. I came looking for a good Pilsner and left with a sense that I'd made some new friends. Since then, I'm back almost weekly.
Good food (wurst platte is a treat), good conversation, and a most excellent Dinkle Acher Pils. Tschuss
This place was a blast to visit and the food although a bit pricey was authentic and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive and the place was well kept and clean. bakery items were out of this world and very fresh. Stone mountain is much better after a few Pints of Spatens
the entire city of stone mountain was a real waste of time for my group and i. we looked forward to a nice dinner in the german restaurant and ended up with upset stomachs (2 members) and people feeling kindof ripped off. prices were pretty high, and the food we received left alot to be desired. the women said that the restrooms were dirty too. lots of traffic also outside. not worth the trip. bi...
Lazy service from unhelpful, scowling staff of people. We lived in Germany for FIVE YEARS. This place is nowhere near the quality and value you'd expect from extra pricey menus! Atmosphere was non-existent and the bathrooms in this place are simply nasty. No place to change our baby either which was very inconvenient. As a restaurant owner I can tell you that I would not recommend dining here. I ...
We decided to try out The Village Corner after reading the reviews. It was a very pleasant experience. We walked in and were asked which side we wanted to sit on. We chose the left side (that's the tavern side and the most happenin' side - I guess the right side is if you want silence). We ordered the platter for two, which has plenty of food for two people. It's reasonably priced ($24) and ...
Every Labor Day Weekend, at the end of The Yellow Daisy Festival at Stone Mountain, we always stop in The Village Corner. You are simply overcome by the aroma's coming from the bakery ovens, and all those showcases you have to pass, to get to the Dining Room. In cooler weather, get a cozy table near the fireplace. Hands down, we always order the German Plate. A terrific combination of homemad...
I liked the deserts-- very very good. The servers were nice and quick. Things I like in a restaurant.
