Went last week for my b-day and friends b-day and 8 other friends.
* bday special card is not what it says and they don't tell you til you are paying
* service is BAD BAD BAD ! I thought the bus boy was going to punch someone with the hateful look on his face. we were afraid to ask for things.
*when we did ask for things like silverware, napkins and water, we never got it and ended up taki...
Just what each of us was looking for. Satisfied 3 picky eaters you did a stellar job
Every staff member from door to the waitress were horrible.
1. I usually dont care for waitress to keep on checking on us, but having to ask 3 times for silverware (which was not on the table since we were seated) and having eventually to take them myself from next table is a total shame.
2. While leaving ( I was still at the table signing the check.) my daughters bottle fell on the floor (...
I can't believe how disapointed I was taking a client from our office at end of September. Have been there maybe 3 times in the last 4 years. Poor service by the waiter (Elias?). The manager was giving people a difficult time in regards to the quality of their meals. Two older ladies left their food on the table. I know I won't bring clients back here,
Our first anniversary on 9/29 and received a gift certificate. The waiter was Inattentive the busboy was great. Food was good at the bar but the dinners were NOT worth what we paid. Price of beers not on menus-should be. Could not get refills on all you can eat crab legs ($19.99). No waiter after initial plate delivered. Mahi Mahi flavourless, plastic cup of brown liquid on side! What giv...
I had never been here before and I heard how good it was and that it was voted denver's best, yadda yadda yadda. I figured I would try it. Everything was alright up until the food started coming. My salad out of three somehow didnt have crutons?? And the lettuce tasted cucumber skins, way to bitter. The calamari was no where near the best in denver, pappadeaux i.m.o. is. I ordered the crab legs a...
We dined there tonight. The food is just okay, but the service is definitely not okay- We had a very rude and abrupt elderly waitress -not okay at all
The Fresh Fish Company is the best seafood experience I've had here in Denver. Who knew fresh seafood...in DENVER!!! I go often for their 50 cent oysters at happy hour but always love their wide arrange of fresh fish. They have an amazing staff and wonderful management who make you feel like you should be a having a wonderful dinning experience. I enjoy going back time and time again. I always le...
My girlfriend and I went to the Fresh Fish company for our anniversary and it was an incredible disappointment. When we arrived, the atmosphere was very unlively even on a Friday night. Unexpected for a restaurant that is always spoken so highly of. Our food was awful. Both fish entrees (Mahi Mahi and Ono) were so overcooked that they lacked any flavor and were incredibly difficult to chew. ...
The food is ok. Service is just ok. The place is clean. The atmosphere is not typical of a seafood restaurant. I know people who love the place, but I'm not one of them.
Got taken here recently (not my idea) because it has never been a favorite. My X and I actually had a part time gig doing mystery "shopping" for the management team many years ago. Didn't like it much then and we were dining for free. Nothing has changed in the last ten years, including the decor which is in serious need of an update. I hate the canned recitation the servers are forced to del...
I had a wonderful experience here last night! I had practical, knowledgeable advice when choosing my wine, when my server pointed out a lightly sweet reisling. Very helpful and honest.Helped me avoid disaster while ordering wine. Blueberry lemonade was very tasty. I had the best crab legs that I have ever tasted. Also the Mahi was exactly as it should be, wonderfully grilled and slight smoked tas...
We went in for dinner last night to sample the preview 5280 menu that was emailed to us and had a wonderful time! It was a special treat for us to join the email club and get all kinds of various offers, especially this one. It was a great overall variety of items at a truly reasonable price! The waitress was one of the best I have experienced and we got a kick out of her seriousness about her...
Extremely Horrible Service,
We tried to celebrate our 28th Wedding Aniversary last night as our waitress did know.
My waitress pased us many times all night never asking if we were ok.
I had to stick my arm out and ask for more drinks waving down our waitress.
The fish portions were very small but tasty!
The food was good but I do not recommend this place for a special occasion, I get better...
I really enjoy their ceasar salad and pasta with shrimp. The atmosphere is pretty good, and I love all of the aquariums they have everywhere. A bit pricy but they have the best seafood in Denver.
This is a very nice place. Neatly placed by the dollar theater and the proof night club. The fish is great! so is the crab! The buffet is also very enjoyable.
This is one of the best restaurants we like to frequent. The calamari is the best around Colorado and our service was great as usual. We were in for the lobster email special, my lobster was great and my wife's surf and turf was tasty and well cooked.
I have been looking forward to going to the Fresh Fish company and after our meal I wish we had never gone! From the moment when we walked in the door and greeted by a very snobby hostess I knew it wasn't going to be what I expected. The dining area looked like an old casino buffet restaurant with tacky wall art and lights. Our server bosted about the fish special and pasta in which my boyfrie...
I highly recommend fresh fish company. They have the best seafood around and it is truly a wonderful dining experience all around. Tell your friends to go!!
Worst dining experience ever. These folks have fallen far. We have enthusiatically visited the Fresh Fish Company for many years, but last night's meal was a dismal experience and I doubt we will ever return. Among the litany of occurences
-the seat of the booth was wet when we sat down
-numerous waitstaff passed by our table as the empty dishes piled up
-the promised fresh pepper for our sala...
I had dinner last night at the Fresh Fish Company for my birthday, as I do almost every year. I ordered the coconut shrimp. When they came out, they were this purple grey color. It looked awful. The breading and the shrimp were this color. I asked the waitress and she agreed that they did not look right. She put in a new order. The second time, a manager brought them to me. He put the pla...
Wanted to take my Grandparents out because both of their birthdays were last week. They suggested the Red Lobster, I wanted something different. Had never been to the Fresh Fish Company but had heard a lot of good things about it. I called and made reservations the night before for brunch.
We got there and they asked if we knew about their birthday club. I said no. They handed us forms to...
Not being Denver natives, we had asked several people where to go for fresh seafood, they had suggested this restaurant. Obviously the people we asked have had very limited food experience. This place is disgusting both in it's decor and food. I struggle to put it into words... let's put it this way, we took our Romanian foreign exchange student there for a special farewell meal, and I actual...
After reading the reviews, I was very excited to go have "...best fish in Denver." Even more, on their menu they have "...the best calamari in Denver." Not even close. The best calamari is still at The Black Pearl in Platte Park. The fish was Ok, by far not the best. I've had better at Jax and Itzakaya Den. I would highly not recommend going here. If you want the best fish, stay in Platte P...
We used to love going to the fresh fish company as a way to treat ourselves, but the last couple of trips here have us looking for a new place. The prices are high, which I wouldn't mind paying if the quality was better than Red Lobster. The wait staff is still excellent. I am not sure if the chef is new, or the ingrediants are being purchased from a new vendor, but it is not the same anymore. I ...
I don't understand how this restaurant has such a high ranking. The food was overpriced and cooked poorly. Our mashed potatoes were thrown on our plate with an icecream scoop I felt like I was eating in my middle school cafeteria, and it's been decades since I was in middle school. I felt like we were in a nursing home or grandma's house or something, they have these outdated doilies on everyt...
This is my first review but I think people should know the truth about this place. Over the years I've heard a lot of positive reviews about this joint so finally decided to give it a shot. Walked inside and sat at the bar while waiting for a table. So far everything appeared to look good and didn't wait long to be seated. After being seated in a booth that looked like it had been there since...
On Monday May14th my family and I and our house guest from Ireland dined at your restaurant. It was very disappointing. Three of us ordered lobster tail and it tasted like it had been reheated several times. It was very tough and hard to cut and did not taste anything like lobster. The other three meals were very good.
About a half hour after we left our guest realized he had left h...
We were given a gift card for the restaurant and finally made it there. We were excited to try this out. The sitting was fast, but a very uncomfortable booth they sat us in. We sat and after five minutes waitress came to take order for appetizers, we order the crab stuffed mushrooms and coc. shrimp. Waited at least a 1/2 hour to app. to arrive. Shrimp very dry and crab stuffed mushs. I thin...
On sundays they have the most amaxing brunch I have ever had! It is an all you can eat buffet of almost anything you could ever want. Not to mention all you can eat crab and shrimp. The buffet not only has many seafood dishes, but also traitional dishes like french toast or eggs. There are also many different types of deserts so that there is at least one thing for each person! The restaurant is ...
I have been coming to the Fresh Fish Company for 10 years or so and think I have only had one bad meal in all that time. The Calamari is one of my favorites and is done like no else has done and has a Coconut Curry Sauce thats to die for. I go at least once a month and love the Brunch and Birthday dinners. The only complaint about the brunch is that its the same seafood items, they need to mix...
This was one of the WORST dining experiences we have ever had. Rude and unorganized service, horrible food and unclean surroundings. Not to mention completely overpriced. Don't bother!
The staff is very unpleasant and the atmosphere meets the staff. Food is overpriced. I will not return.
Went to the Sunday Brunch with family in from Boston, it was the hit of the trip! They loved it! Food was great and our table was constantly brimming with crab legs. I have to admit I'm not a big seafood fan, but I enjoyed one of the best breakfasts ever! I was in heaven with the fruit blintzes, french toast, eggs benedict and those desserts! Our server was great, quick with refills, but didn't h...
I've lived in Colorado for 23 years, and this is my favorite place to get great seafood. I love the new selection on thier menu, and the sauces are great. The buffet has good food, but the atmosphere is similar to Country Buffet with people fighting you in line for food. I prefer dinner or lunch here where the true quality of their food is seen. Whenever I have guests here in town, I take the...
We went to the Fish Company and were disappointed as soon as we went in. It has a worn out tired look unless you are a "blue-hair" and absolutely no atmosphere at all, resembling a large banquet area where people are corraled in. The food was unremarkable, fish was tasteless and the sides were bland. Service was obtrusive on overselling but lacking in attentiveness. If people actually think this ...
Great place for seafood; TERRIBLE place for steaks. The filet is tiny and gamey. This has happened to me more than once. I do not recommend getting surf and turf. Everything else on was more than adequate. If you want seafood in Denver go here.
Food was just okay. Don't mind paying a high price for an excellent meal, but this is not it! Salty crab legs, dried and flavorless primerib. My family was very disappointed. We will not be going back. I have not real complaints on service, just the quality of the food coming off the grill.
I have been a long time client of this restaurant. I have to admit that the calamari has changed. Last time I had it it was doughy and very chewy. I didn't enjoy it.
The rest of the food is still pretty good. I like to get the steamed mussels. They serve great sourdough bread which is great to dip in the broth. Served with a glass of wine, it is a full meal.
I have always had good ser...
July 2008 - Wow. CitySearch is saying 4-1/2+ stars, but the math, based on reviews, says 2.7 stars. Big difference!
I wrote a review in June 2006 ? 1 star. I didn?t think I?d ever come back, but sometimes you just have to.
It was a beautiful July 2008 evening. We arrived Friday at 6pm and left at 8pm. The restaurant was never half full (from what I could see). Based on my last experie...
I felt the food was of the same quality as Red Lobster, but much more expensive. Pretty typical chain quality. And, the calamari wasn't light and refreshing, but quite heavy and slightly chewy.
I decided to go here as a first date. The lady I was accompanying is from the coast and I'd heard that the seafood here was the freshest in Denver. I made an online reservation with the discount, as I'd also heard it's not the cheapest place. The food was great, we both agreed. However the service was intrusive and when 9:30 hit the help kept glaring at us. I'm unlikely to return, especially...
Took my sweetheart to FFC for dinner. We arrived very early and had an app in the bar along with some cocktails. Although the bar is quite small it was also cozy and quiet enough to chat while we waited for our reservation time.
We were seated within a few minutes of telling the hostess we were ready and received fun and fast service.
The food was excellent and fairly priced for the quality...
I went for Sunday Brunch and was very dissapointed. While the french toast was to die for, everything else was rather ordinary. I am a seafood lover, especially salmon, and I threw most of my salmon and other seafood away. The best part was the breakfast...but it's pretty hard to screw up breakfast. The lunch items weren't very fresh, and the desserts were just OK. For $18.99, I felt it was ...
Family went for special meal 2 wks ago Sat. Watress came back 1x right after meal served disapeared. After started getting cold our Coc.Shrimp was so hard around the edges unable eat , like over micro-waved. Other food below standards. Several times we have advised newcomers to denver, groups etc. eat here. 2x's has been just alful.
