I've been to this bar several times over the past few years and things seemed okay (not great, just okay). But I was there on Saturday 7/25/09 from noon until 1:30 with a bunch of friends and we were not just treated rudely, as other reviewers have stated, we were treated with absolute disdain. The waitress was literally throwing plates of food on our table and the bartender acted as if we wer...
You know.....you can serve me good beer and tasty food all nite long, but if the service is terrible and the attitude is rude, I will not have fun. This place does not seem to understand that. I have tried this place twice and both times were horrible. The bartenders on both visits were rude. We seemed to have the incredible vanishing waitress and the bartender would not serve us while seated...
I'll keep it simple - if you like good beer, you will like Falling Rock. It's a no frills atmosphere with a nice beer selection, and a far cry away from the meat market bars it shares a general area with.
This is one of our favorite places to go with or without our kids. It has a great causal atmosphere. It has a huge exceptional collection of some of the best beer in the world. I particularly love IPA's and they have great selections of hoppy beer. In addition they have great hamburgers and homemade French fries.
Good burger, good beer, angry ninjas.........what's not to like? If I had to complain, I wish it was closer to my house and not downtown.
Located in LoDo. Excellent atmosphere. They specialize in 69 micro and imports on tap. For bar food there's is superior. I don't drink beer but I have been introduced to Belgian Beer through their owner and loved it. This is a really fun place. One can sit inside our out.
...but I finally have to issue a review, and I'm afraid it ain't good. Let me begin by saying I've been a BIG fan of this bar and its beer selection for over seven years and have had many good times there. HOWEVER, it's no secret that the place has clearly gone downhill over the last couple of years. Like a lot of other reviews mention, the service here has become surly at best, non-existent a...
Great selection of beer, although often the vast selection leads to some skunky old pints. Don't expect good or even any service unless you are well endowed, and even then..... The OWNER HURT MY FRIEND when he slung a door into her and he didn't even say sorry to HER. I told him he should appologize and he cussed us both out and told us to get the "F" out of his bar. It used to be my favorite...
I found it interesting that the last review also mentions that the bartender told the poster to "get out" - that was exactly what I was told. I had tolerated the bad service in the past because of the beer selection, but I will not be back. We stopped by yesterday and I went to the bar to order beer. The bartender walked up and down the bar several times but never acknowledged me. He finally ...
I unfortunately can't comment on the food or the beer, as we never had either. We stopped at the Tap House on a whim and encountered such amazingly horrible service before ever ordering that we gave up in disgust and left. When we told our waitress we were ready to order, she said she'd be right back, then went and chatted with the bartender for TEN MINUTES, doing absolutely nothing- and I mean...
If you are in Denver and want to experience 70 or so taps from which to choose local, national and international craft beers (and many more bottles, particularly Belgians), then this is the place.
If you want a margarita, a Bud Light, or a pitcher of Coors (all of which are fine if that's what you want), do NOT come here. This place is catered to those who are Beer Advocates. They also serve...
I have been here a couple of times and recieved horrible service! Then I had to meet some friends there so I went in expecting horrible service, I was very surprised when before I even walked in the door the waitress managed to offend me even more! I have heard from other people in the industry that you just have to know someone there. I can accept that to be treated very well, you need to know s...
Falling rock is definately one of a kind in Denver. Blake St. is famous for its night life and bar scene. This place has a really good selection; between 60 and 80 on tap, and depending on when you go, most of the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, not like most of the surrounding bars. I had my first cask conditioned IPA- a Titan IPA I believe, and since then, I love going to this place. o...
The first time I went in there was with a couple of my buddies. We had this waitress that is amazing. She was bringing me small taste beers to try before I decided on what I wanted to drink. After a couple of hours we left to aonther bar over in the area then headed back to the House. The waitress got us another table and brough us a couple of rounds on the house. We ended up closing the place ar...
Food was decent but we were hugely dissapointed by our servers' brazenly rude behaviors. So muchso that it completely spoiled my experience and soured my impression of this place. I went in with a few people about a year ago and can relate to the last reviewer who said that his/her server just seemed annoyed to be waiting on them. We experienced the same thing with more than one staff member. We...
After waiting 15 minutes for service in an empty bar, the wait staff person finally arrived and stated she was in a bad mood. OK great. it was a birthday party. Not what you want to hear.
We asked her for merlot and she said "no merlot". "Ok"...we asked "what do you have"? She said "Red or white".
Honestly I thought this was a joke. This is a BAR....correct? Granted a beer bar, but a full se...
The last time i visited the Falling Rock was in 2005, and havent forgotten about it since. It was in the late summer of '05 after Huricanne Katrina. The management, bartenders, and even the regular coustomers had that southern hospitality that i was looking for in a bar. Unfortanatly i could not stay in town for as long as i origanaly planed, and had to return to my native southern home of New...
My fiance and I frequent many brew houses and pubs in Denver due to his love for "elite beer". I've been to Falling Rock several times. I have to say that although they do have an amazing selection of beer and OK food, the service has been consitantly AWFUL. Our waitress who we have had the last three times we went there was very rude and unaccomodating. She was not polite, pretty much threw our...
I immediately loved this place because of the outfit. But there are several drawbacks.
Yes, there is a long list of Colorado and US beers - can't say anything bad about them.
But tried several european beers on tap there - almost all of them are too wattery. Probably old.
You may find a better Guinness in Denver. The same about German Pilsners.
And yeah, what's with just one unisex restroom ...
Every year we come from L.A. to Denver for the Great American Beer Festival. This is the place that we look forward to the most. For those that know, this is the place to be every night after the fest let's out. Great Beer selection and atmosphere. keep up the good work Chris!!
I have been a regular at the Falling Rock for years and have to say that I am always excited to go! The beers are great, the staff are personable and the band, Dysfunction Junction always puts on a good show. We danced until the lights came up! I don't know why they don't advertise when DJ is playing. Call ahead to find out.
I have been loyal to the Falling Rock Tap House for 3 years and the staff is still pretty much the same as when I first started going. This is absolutely unheard of for a bar in Denver! Any place that makes the employees so happy must be doing everything right. Plus, the beer selection is the best I have ever seen!
I have friends who only drink a certain brand of light beer. I've seen them turn down other light beers in an effort to find their brand. These friends of mine should stay across the street at the sports bars. Falling Rock has the most incredible selection of quality beers. Drinking here should earn a person a college credit due to all the knowledge about ales, lagers, and seasonal beers. Mmmmm, ...
Falling Rock is the best place to drink good beer, and enjoy excellent food.
Bad food and bad service and they were out of most of the beers we asked for. Overall it was just a bad expeirence.
Stay away from it if you can! Go to Crocs or red fish for happy hour, much better deal and food.
Best mushrooms in town. And I don't like mushrooms! Great beers, excellent service and fun.
The Tap House is one of Denver's best bars. It is never too crowded, always has classic rock cover bands and the beer selection is unreal. Behind the large bar is a wall filled with an insane amount of taps. This isn't your average, Bud, Bud Light deal either. The Tap House has Fat Tire, Easy Street Wheat, Guinness, the works. If you're looking for a chill scene with good beer and good tunes...
