Crunch is D.O.A. (dead on arrival.) If you like having sxxx with dead gyms (the equipment is filthy / broken) or near dead people (it's the afternoon of the Living Dead in the steam room), you will love Crunch.
In June, 2009, Crunch entered bankruptcy due to "loss of members." This would come as no surprise to anyone who's fled Crunch's disease ridden crib. There are about a thousand reasons ...
yes it's expensive, but if you spend a lot of time at the gym, you want it to be clean, with equipment that works. I used to go to the Holl...
I can't speak for the bodybuilder types or nonchalant workout-er who purely use machines, but this gym has the best classes, period. It's hi...
I simply wanted to try a spinning class at Crunch and it was a seriously an awful experience. I really hate the hard sell and expected to have someone ask if we (my friend and I) wanted to sign up but this was ridiculous. Not to mention the facility is a mess, the sound system is terrible and the crowd much like an LA club. I have found a great boutique gym in Hollywood called Gear. They don't h...
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM!! I don't usually fill these surveys out unless I have an amazing experience or a completely horrible one. And with Crunch I found the classes to be ok, the gym equipment was ok, locker room fine. But one negative has ruined all the positives.
I was a member of Bally Total Fitness and decided to upgrade to Crunch. When I signed the lengthy and expensive contract I w...
For what you will end up paying a month you can find much better for your money. A lot of stuff seems very old and out of date especialy for this "hip" image that they try to give themselves. Also, much of the staff often look very depressed.
I got stuck in a year membership and they continued charging me even after I had requested to quit. Very rude and mentally slow staff in the corporate bil...
The gym itself is not that much nicer than a Bally's or a 24 hour fitness and it's incredibly annoying that they don't offer water (you can get bottled water, but you have to pay for it--they don't even have cups for tap water). They have a fair amount of machines but their elypticals don't have built in tvs (just the treadmills and the bikes) and it can get very crowded at times. The locker ro...
I've been a member at a number of different gyms throughout LA, and although I think Crunch is a bit overpriced, it's a really great gym. T...
I joined Crunch because it is the closest gym to where I live: for that convenience, I tolerate an absurd volume of music that plays most of the time, not to mention the choice of music, a disproportionate amount of hip hop and rap, in spite of the fact at least half of the patrons at any given time have their mp3 players on, cranked on high to hear over Crunch's speaker system.
The machin...
I currently have multiple gym memberships in part due to constantly searching for the best instructor. My search has been completed when I started to take Colin K classes (Abs, Spin & Yoga). I have taken hundreds of spin classes and there are no other instructor that constantly change the music and drives each of the spinners to their best capability like him. His energy, motivation and dedica...
After going to 24 hour fitness, and becomming fed up with the water being turned off, or the equipment being broken, I joined Crunch.
The membership isn't cheap, and it is a bit of a scene, but I have to say it is a good gym. Everything is well maintained, I don't see "out of service" on equipment, ever.
If you want an easy in and out gym, this can be it, but I think part of the price tag i...
Crunch is a fantastic gym. It's high priced, but then again, it's Crunch. There are way too many trendy people there, which makes it a bit o...
I've belonged to this gym for over a year and I've been reasonably happy with it. Crunch is known for its innovative classes and they do ha...
I love Crunch. I was a member in Chicago for 2 yrs and a member here for 2 yrs. I've visited gyms all over the country and this is one of the best. The facility is clean, there are plenty of machines and the classes are the best. If you are serious about your work out, this is the place to be. Some of the members are a bit much, but its LA, what do you expect ?
i've been a member of crunch since the day they opened and never had any problems. the gym can be crowded at times, but it really depends when you go. the best time to be there is after 8p. the gym is practically empty. the staff is generally very helpful, but they can take themselves a little too serious sometimes. i join this gym because i couldn't stand how busy and dirty 24hr fitness was...
Great layout and design. Good equipment. Atmosphere really motivates me to work out. Parking can be a little crazy at times, but I've always been able to find a space. Lots of cute boyz too!
If crunch is rated the best gym in LA, there is a great market for someone to make a lot of money in the gym industry. It is always too crowded. When a machine breaks it can take up to a week to be fixed. The parking situation is atrocious. They only allow you a 2 hour validation and it can take 30 minutes to find a parking space. I always feel rushed to make it out of the garage within the vali...
It's expensive to join, but they offer the BEST classes in town. Jeff Costa is an amazing instructor! Love the "strip-aerobics" (No--you don't have to take off your clothes. But some people do ;) Also try the goddess class or washboard abs. Fun & fabulous.
Crunch is expensive, loud, clean, filled with TVs, has plenty of exercise equipment and is located on the Sunset Strip. Not only a workout, Crunch is an attitude and an experience in and of itself. Granted, you get kind of tired of hearing model types with gossip like "Did you see Todd on Blind Date last night? or seeing a TV crew with Downtown Julie Brown or having a trainer come up to you eve...
