  10. Calamari
Olive or Twist is a fun place to grab a drink downtown. However, the highlight of this place is the calamari. Instead of your standard fried calamari with marinara sauce, Olive or Twist makes theirs with an asian sauce and it is unbelievable...definitely worth the trip.

  11. Gone downhill fast
I used to love this place (except for being a very smoky restaurant, but smoking ban changed that) - best calamari in Pgh. It's been under new management or chef and hasn't been the same since. The menu changed. They ran out of ahi tuna at 6:30 pm. $13 for a sandwich without even chips (overpriced for the quality) and $11.50 for a martini (not even that great) is too much. Service was medio...

  12. Place is Great
Our firm had a couple of parties here this year and this place is wonderful. From the initial set up to the conclusion of the event, the staff was top notch, he really took good care of us. We all agreed that this was the best place so far in Pittsburgh. The martinis are the best in town and the food is really good too. With the new DJs on the weekends, it's our regular friday night stop upst...

  13. Best Mixed Drinks In 412
This is the only bar I go to downtown. Relaxed atmosphere, great mixed drinks, couches, hot crowd. The upstairs is amazing - exposed brick mixed with a bartender named Ian who makes outstanding martinis.

  14. best kept secret in pittsburgh
me and my friends used to go out all the time. and we were getting sick of the same old bars and some of the other neighborhoods so we wnet out downtown. We LOVE this place. They have the coolest upstairs lounge in the city and the hottest bartenders and cocKtail waitresses. (lol) We went to a wrap party there it was the bomb. It's a chill relaxing atmosphere where you dont' get macked on...

  15. best drinks around, awesome bartenders
I just moved to pittsburgh recently and stumbled upon this wonderful spot in the downtown area. Everytime we go there, it is always happening but not too crazy. They have a nice sophisticated mixed crowd and it's a great place to chill on the weekends...relaxed comfortable atmosphere, great music. Drinks are in the mid to high range but well worth the price with the stiff pours and quality liq...

  16. Awesome daytime bartender, terrible management
I have been going there for several years now, and the bar has gone downhill in a number of ways. The staff changes overnight so to achieve "Regular" status is impossible. The daytime bartender, Sam, is really personable and makes everyone laugh. If he is super busy, he is the only one bartender and can come off as curt, if not downright uninterested, but one bartender and 50 ppl i can see where ...

  17. Incredibly, unbelievably overrated
Just got charged more than $13 for one glass of beer and one Scotch and soda using a bar brand. Can't imagine what anyone sees in this place. Many other bars in town have nicer furniture, music, lighting, etc. Location is not worth the price. The staff was bitchy bitches. When I asked if the bill was correct, I was told, "gas now costs more than $3 per gallon." That might be an appropriate commen...

  18. nice aesthetics, TERRIBLE bartenders
iv been goin to the upstairs lounge at olive or twist since last july.Until recently i enjoyed the service.I was a loyal customer because the bartenders upstairs were personable & made the best dirty martinis for my friends and i.I have always recommended OT & held a party for a friend there in which we got amazing service from the 2 girls who usually waited on us and happily overtipped them. The ...

  19. Great drinks & food when you can get served.
This is a great place in a great location on 6th Street for pre/post game or Theater or Symphony. The food is excellent. Crab cake sandwich and ahi tuna appetizer are winners and lots of interesting choices on a surprisingly upscale menu. Obvious pros in the kitchen. But on a busy night, if you are not at the bar be prepared to wait a long time for service. The staff is friendly enough, ...

  21. Above average for lunch
Just went to Olive and Twist for lunch with 3 colleagues. It was dark as the tables are all the way in the back of the space. The menu was nice and our server was pleasant. Food was very slow in coming out of the kitchen though, but every table was full.

  22. Downtown has so many cool spots finally
Wow...those are some amazingly harsh words by customers with apparent anger displacement. I found this place to be a treasure and didn't even know there was a second floor. And if the place is so lousy, I wonder why said customer was beating down the door to get in? Finally this city has many options to go out downtown for.

  23. BEWARE WHEN WANTING TO BOOK A PRIVATE EVENT
BEWARE! Olive or Twist advertises that they can host private parties but beware of doing that! They're customer service leaves a great deal to be desired. After leaving numerous voice messages and emails for the "Events" Manager I had to go to the Manager, Steve, to discuss what type of event I was looking to host there (a reception for 70-80 people). Steve sent me back to the "Events"Manager...

This restaurant is perfect for dinner before or after a show in the cultural district. Its close to everything, and the food is delicious. The staff is very friendly.

  25. wonderful
we had such a great time the last couple times we've been there, and there's this new bar upstairs that is really nice too. In the Pittsburgh area...verrrry attractive crowd and they make their drinks really stiff. Would recommend for anyone looking for a fun time with good music too.

  26. Twice in one week
I went to Olive or Twist for the first time for some Steeler pre-game drinks with my husband and another couple, and we had the best time. I stopped in again last night with some friends, and again I had a great time. When you are treated as nicely as I was treated this week, I just had to put in my two cents. The bartender was as nice as could be, and I can't say enough about the appetizers.

  27. STOP THE NONSENSE!
It's easy to see! The good reviews of O or T are so fake and processed, it's a shame. I've been stopping in about 3 to 4 times a month for the past 5 months and believe the poor reviews. I've tried to find what the good reviewers are talking about but the good ones are a little vague and then I realized why!? They're submitted by obvious friends and family or maybe the owners themselves.
