For many years my friends and I have been going to the bar at Tia's, mostly because "it's the place to be". Come April ,what is better than a drink ouside by the water. A few years ago my friends and I decided to check out the restaurant. We always thought that it was a "bar".
We had dinner outside on the dining room side, away from the busy bar. To our surprise, the meal was amazing. W...
every year at this time, i get thru the bitter cold winter with the thought that Tia's is only 3 months from re-opening......it's nice to have the option to sit outside or inside, get great service, enjoy the many options of food, and definate people watch.....the crowd is dressed nice and makes you want to mingle......i find it fun to be in a restaurant that is busy and has a great bar scene, so...
Every summer I look forward to going into the city and having dinner at Tia's. The food there is fantastic (extremely delicious I might add) and the service is great. From the moment you walk in, the hostess greets you with a smile and the waiters are very attentive. I've made sure that any friend or family member that comes to visit me, goes to Tia's and tries out their delicious food. So far, n...
which speaks volumes to my experiences there. Boston is so rich with options, and I love the waterfront. However, as most of Boston can offer you places on the waterfront, there really is nothing special about Tia's that makes me want to come back.
I have tried the after work drink crowd, and where I can agree with the people watching, I find it weird that no one integrates with each other. ...

I have been to Tia's on many occassions and have never had a bad experience. It is a great place for a nice dinner or to enjoy drinks with friends. I have found both the bar staff as well as the wait staff to be extremely friendly and provide get service. I am a huge fan of the Twin Lobster Special. Overall Tia's is a great place!!!!
Hated this place. Went there with the girls for a night out and the apps and drinks were too expensive for what you got. Not to mention we had wanted to be outside but it was like the front lawn of a frat house out there. Our waitress was unattentive and spacey. I wont be going back.
I don't think the food is very good for the price they charge. Tia's really only have to offer their outside patio which has a nice view of the harbor.
Tia's on the waterfront is a great place to dine on the water. They carry a wide variety of seafood choices, salads, sandwiches, and lobsters. Great patio!
Just terrible. Are you kidding me with the rude waitstaff, overpriced light beers, terrible food. I would rather stay home than ever get dragged to this dump again.
Ate here for an early dinner one weekend in Boston. We had a great time, terrific chowder and lobster, nice wine, beautiful patio. I would highly recommend a meal at Tia's.
Amazing seafood! Can't beat the lobster prices, especially the twin lobsters and the clambake. park is right next to restaurant so great to occupy kids' time. Bar seems packed at night, great nightlife scene if i didn't have my family, i'd be over there! :-)
I have been to Tia's about 4 times. The first time was 5 years ago when I was interning with WEEI and doing promotions. Since then I have been to Tia's a few more times and have enjoyed myself. Living and working outside of Boston, I am not in Boston as often as I would like as it is a beautiful city with a lot to offer. It seems like every time I go into Boston, whether it is for a girl?s ni...
After dining at Tia's I couldn't wait to share my experience with the world, ok maybe just Boston. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing this amazing restaurant for the first time. I had always heard stories about Tia's and how fabulous the location is, and how it's a great after work place to go but never really appreciated all the stories I'd heard until I saw for myself. I visited Tia...
I went to tia's the other night for dinner and drinks, the food was so amazing we sat out on the patio, and had a bunch of apps, that were so good. I recommend the spinach dip. The service was also really good, our server was jen, and she was just so pleasent. I would recommend this place to everyone i know
Tia's is a perfect summer bar. It is mostly outside and right on the water. A great place to go for cocktails after work or to stay all night. The drinks are a little more expensive that the other Fanuel Hall bars in the area, but the atmosphere is worth it.
I have heard stories of the sketchy food preparation at some Boston restaurants but this place takes the cake. My younger sister had the honor tonight of eating their salmon and has been throwing up on herself for the last few hours. Steer clear of Tia's unless you are looking to lose some weight because this place will make you sicker than the Ebola virus.
I absolutely LOVE Tia's. It's great during the day and it has an amazing night life as well. The atmosphere is fantastic and it's an excellent place to meet people. Also, the staff is very friendly and the food there is great. The seafood is especially good because it's so fresh. I may even say it's Legal Seafood's competition! Definitely check it out if you haven't yet...
Tia's is known so well as a bar that the great food is often overlooked. We heard that it is a great scene on sunny afternoons, and that's why we went. We were having such a great time that we decided to stay for dinner and had some of the best seafood we've eaten anywhere.
This is REALLY a great place to hang out on the waterfront on a warm day or evening, and a great place for a casual lunch ...
I cant wait for tia's to open back up. When Tia's opens up thats a sure sign that spring is here. I go there almost every thursday or friday afternoon for a few drinks and food. The place is usually busy when the weather is nice, its always a good crowd too. Try to get thier somewhat early on nicer days. If you're going to have food you have to try the calamari! Should only be another week ...
Everytime I go to Tia's I've had a good time. Whether it has been just for drinks after work or spending a friday night there, I've never had a bad experience. Sitting outside on the deck after work is the perfect way to relax after a long day. The food is good and the staff is friendly. One of my favorite bars in Boston.
We were only in Boston for a day & we were really looking to find a great meal while we were there. Boy was this the wrong place!
1. The service was HORRIBLE!! Our waitress was not personable at all, we only saw her to put in the order, drop off our food and pay the bill - we weren't even offered drink refills. When we had a problem it took us quite a while to hunt her down, and she handle...
Even though every time I've been to Tia's it's been busy, I still feel like it's an underrated bar in the city. Right on the harbor, Tia's offers good food and a cool place to have a few drinks. It's one of my favorite bars to go to during the summer because you can stay outside the entire time with their outdoor bar. Nothing too flashy here, but has good beer selection.
This place is great. My wife and I had some company come to visit and we asked some friends where to take them and Tia's came highly reccomended. We went on a nice afternoon and sat outside on the patio. The food was great, and the service was exceptional. Our server was so nice and was constantly asking if we needed anything. Our company loved it and requested we go back there next time the...
I've been to Tia's a bunch of times. Boston's young professionals wait for this place to open back up in the offseason. The patio is right on the water and always full of fun people. The after work crowd is very friendly because we all just got off our 9 - 5 job and need a drink to relax. The food is great, I've been to a couple events at Tia's that are catered. They always put out a good sp...
This place is a clown show. I saw a bunch of roid freaks start a fight with some kids over a chair (luckily they ended up with the chair, although it was over the side of their head, good for them!) Otherwise, if you enjoy overpriced drinks and the suburban crowd that comes into Boston to get wasted and start fights with people, this is your place.
The food was so bad I couldn't bear to stay for drinks at the bar. The calamari was not only gross, but there was hardly enough for one person even if you did want to eat it. The waitress left no impression and the martinis stunk. The only thing worse than the ridiculous bill was the turkey club. Not only do they not tell you want is on it (warning there is a massive avacado right in the midd...
I was in town (yes, a tourist) and my friends in Boston highly touted Tia's for drinks and dinner. We had the worst service I have ever encountered at a restaurant. The restaurant was dead and we were her only table: I not only had to approach the bartender for water but also our drink order. The food was poorly prepared and cold when it arrived to our table. Just a terrible experience.
meathead stockbrokers flexing for the ladies while swilling Mich Ultra out of plastic cups served by bigger meathead bartenders who somehow couldn't get into the stock biz. Ugly environment!
This is my favorite bar in the summer. The summer only lasts so long so I like to be outside as much as possible when the weather permits. This bar has great drinks, great views, and a great crowd (especially after work). Whenever someone new comes into town to visit this is the first place that comes to mind. This is what Boston is all about.
Our experience at Tia's was quite pleasant, the food was excellent, quite possibly the best stuffed lobster I've ever had, and being from the Caribbean, I've had lots! We were seated promptly, and although service was just average, the ambiance was quite pleasant. I'm going back soon!
That was the worst food and bar experience that I have ever encountered. Overpriced slop!!! This place sucks!!
Went there for dinner last night.
1. Overpriced drinks (8$ for a beer)
2. Food stunk (The Calarmari app. was cold and not as advertised on the menu)
3. Seating (they tried to put 8 people at a 4top next to us, essentially forcing us to move so that we weren't being sat upon by the 4-too-many people next door)
4. Service (slow, lackluster, inattentive, only chatted with us when serving the bil...
TIa's is a nice place but completely overrated. not worth the time or the money
I completely agree w/the rating on Tia's, have only been a couple of times & obviously it is best enjoyed in the summertime, when you can really appreciate the scenery, water & people ;-)
This place is for the just turned 21 crowd. Filled with cheesey girls and guys especially Wednesdays and Thursdays in the summer. The drinks are overpriced and the food isn't that great. Definitely not worth the expenses!!!!!
We started the night at Tia's. Had an awesome waitress named Amy. 12-14 people just hanging out having drinks for like 2 hours from like 10pm-12 on a beautiful august night outdoors --- can't beat that.
Very crowded and the drinks are a little pricey, but Tia's is a fun after-work bar on the water, great place for singles.
This place sucks. The only reason it has a good rep is because it occasionally gets a few hotties after work on Thursday. C'mon, you can't even see the water and you spend the entire time moving out of the ever passing crowd's way.
Great Bar with friendly staff. Creative and entertaining bartenders who can serve up what you want even if you don't know what it is. The menu is varied enough to be interesting, and the food is good with decenet sized portions. The prices are a little high, but this is where Boston hangs out.
Great outdoor setting, full of young, single, well-dressed, just-graduated, individuals. Great atmosphere on a summer night. Very hip...no loud music. Very friendly people. No cover.
This place is good for a hot summers night. It's an open-air bar with a small inside. It is based in the mariott long warf hotel, on the side facing the north end. It has good prices ($4 for beer and $5-$6 for mixed) If you like ladies in next to nothing, this is the place to go in the summer. Lots of girls bring many drunk guys though. Lots of the "I like to think I'm cool" types here. Bu...
I moved to Boston from LA, and nevertheless succeeded in finding a place that epitomizes everything I hate about California. This place is a cheesy scene to end all cheesy scenes. Not sure I've ever seen more snotty girls and meatheads in my life. To add insult to injury, the food's lack luster. The whole experience gave me flashbacks of bad fraternity date events. Thank God I'm not single if thi...
We love Tia's on Thursday in the summer. It gets quite crowded in the evening, but if you get here early enough (by 5:30pm) you can usually grab a table.
