The Dance Factory has a dedicated facility for classes and dances. Unfortunately, their dance instructors have low patience, particularly with the beginner classes, and their Friday night dances are simply extended classes. The Dance Factory has a bad tendency to cancel classes, making it difficult to go through their heirarchy of skill levels. Plus, they focus too heavily on Waltz.
We took both group and private lessons at the Dance Factory.
Group lessons were essentially the same as those we took at Arthur Murray.
Private lessons were Great. Our instructor was extremely helpful in helping us learn to accommodate each others' strengths and weaknesses!
I've been to a lot of studios trying to get some beginner help so I can dance with my girlfriend without stepping on her toes.
I am not impressed with Dance Factory. I took private lessons, but they were still rushed and cranky.
I took a 4-week ballroom series and a private lesson. The staff made it fun and enjoyable. In the group classes you constantly change partners so if you come with someone, expect not to dance with that person. The dance studio is often running specials, so check one of those out before signing up.
