Greek cuisine outshines the pizza at this popular Decatur joint.
On August 27th 1966, John and Asiemoula Papadopoulos opened the first Athens Pizza in a little town called Putnam, Connecticut. Everything was homemade, from the meatballs to the tomato sauce. In 1977 John and Asiemoula opened their first Athens Pizza in Decatur and it has been a local favorite ever since. Over the course of the years the food has not changed and neither has the spirit of the founders. The same delicious recipes are still used today, over 25 years later. You still feel as if you are eating in their home. When you walk through the door the family spirit emanates, you can taste the love that they put into their food just as they did back in 1966. From our tasty appetizers and our delicious entrees to our famous pizza and desserts we have something for everyone. Because of our dear customers this family restaurant has been a long standing Atlanta tradition.
